Terrible. We found a bug in our soup!!! Gave us food poisoning. Will never go back!

Once my go to Chinese restaurant in Oradell, would eat there almost every week. Ever since this place changed ownership, it went down the tubes. It used to be great. Kung Po chicken was dry and tough. Couldn’t finish it. Wonton soup was cold and atrocious. Stomach pains all night long. Never again.

TERRIBLE! Been eating here for years & Im done! This was great take out for many years but recently(I believe they changed hands) it’s been awful. Ordered the Orange beef extra spicy. instead they gave me Orange Chicken that had zero flavor and not crisp at all. Tasted like squeaky tofu. yuck! Not one single shred of orange or a hot chili pepper in the entire dish?!! Egg roll was tasteless & fresh hot mustard & chili sauce had no heat either… or taste for that matter. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes. got there in 5 because I was in the area. Order was already on the counter & ready? How can you cook 2 dinners in 5 minutes? And guess what?.. it was ice cold when I got home(I live in oradell!) So I guess they didn’t cook it fresh at all! No excuse for that. What a shame. used to be a great place. Lost a loyal customer.

Based on the reviews I ordered from this place and let me say will be the last time ever. Ordered Lo Mein and had to spit it out that’s how bad it was. Tried the spring roll and had to force the food down with a drink because it was so bad. The only decent portion was broccoli with garlic sauce, but at this point was so turned off. We trashed the entire meal with under 5 bites eaten. Huge disappointment, how does this place get such a high rating!

I have to write a bad review for Thursday night and another time that I received bad food and just bad service. However this would not be my first choice for a Chinese place but when you move back to Oradell there really isn’t anything in this town to eat, so this is pretty much your last resort. Let me start by saying that Thursday I was so annoyed to come in the door and open up my food and see that there is just lobster sauce overloaded in my container and three tiny shrimp WTF is that when shrimp is the cheapest shit on the planet and is bought in a frozen bag. I have even noticed from time to time that they skimp on every meal and over charge for all their dishes. As well a couple months ago I have ordered a couple dishes and one particular one and when I opened it and it was the wrong order and plus it barely had any chicken. I was actually embarrassed to even show my quest. When I called the lady behind the counter she told me to bring it back to see it and how she wanted it. Who takes back something when the food was taken home already. This was the first that I witnessed this. This should be a lesson to everybody, if there is a place of business that prepares food and you Dine in or Take out. No place should ask for food back once it is exposed or opened by a customer. If the FDA only knew that they would heat it up and resale the entrée they would be shut down immediately. My point is if you are going to prepare food and sell dishes make sure it pretty much looks like the picture and give the customer what they ask for and don’t argue with them when you make the mistake on their order and don’t ask for it back once it has left your place of business that is gross.

Take-out Chinese, but really good food considering what it is. We love their hot & sour soup, broccoli in garlic sauce, the boneless spareribs, and pretty much everything else we tried. I can’t understand how any of the other takeout restaurants in the area survive, as Red Apple is truly a serious cut above the rest.

The only Chinese takeout that isn’t soaked through with grease and oil. Their restaurant and food is clean. Dishes are tasty. Always have been quick to deliver and always friendly. Reliable Chinese food that won’t leave you feeling gross.

Decent Chinese overall, good delivery. I didn’t love the dumplings, but the Chow Fun was excellent. They know how to cook proteins too, which I haven’t found in many places around. Worth a shot if you live nearby.

Horrible with a capital H. Got the chicken and broccoli and it looked like the chicken was uncooked and slimy. Also but the Hunan beef and it looked like the same shit. Egg drop soup was great same with the wonton soup. Vegetable dumplings had hard pieces in it. What a waste of time and money. Would never go back to this place. Sorry. Want real good food go to Lotus Café in Hackensack and you will agree with me.

I like Red Apple! There are many options for Chinese food in this area, but this one always provides delicious food. Their prices are good as is their location. There is a large parking lot behind the store fronts, so don’t be fooled by the limited street parking in front.

Red Apple just made me sick 10 minutes after eating the chicken and broccoli. I’ve been going there for years now usually on Friday and Saturday night but decided to get lunch today. Bad news! I thought the food tasted strange, maybe bad chicken or sauce. I won’t be going back ever again.

Not bad but not great. Average for the area. I was looking for something different and did not find it. I would return as it is close to mt condo.

Food is fresh and owners are very friendly. We enjoy their chicken and broccoli as the sauce is not overpowering very much the case with many other dishes. Delivery is available so always a nice convenient option. My favorite American/Chinese around the Oradell area.

Red Apple is what you would expect of your typical take-out style Chinese restaurant. I feel like there is one menu for all Chinese restaurants and they just put a different name on the front of it. I’ve eaten at numerous Chinese restaurants, but the food always seems to be better here. I prefer this restaurant to the Jade Dragon, another Chinese restaurant in Oradell. The people who run Red Apple are very friendly. They even know us by name now. One thing that does impress me about Red Apple is what it says on the front of the menu: «If you don’t see it — Please ask — If we can, we will!» We have put in several requests for things that aren’t on the menu and they have been very accommodating. Sometimes when we order dinner combos we’d rather have wonton soup instead of an egg roll and they are happy to make the substitution. They prepare the food very quickly. It’s never been more than 15 minutes for our food to be ready. I’ve been to other places and their«15 minutes» is more like 20 – 30 minutes. I am a big fan of the beef with broccoli and the chicken lo mein. Ask about their special. It’s written on a chalkboard at the counter. It’s usually something very good. They do have a couple tables set up in the restaurant. Later in the evening it tends to be a hang out for school kids, so you’ll definitely want to get your food to go.
