A Better Cab

What a fiasco. Who knew finding a reliable cab company to take us from periodo key to the Pensacola airport would be such a nightmare? My friend and I allowed plenty of time/​cushion before our flight departure and called Yellow Cab. The dispatcher said we will send someone. After 15 min we called to see what the ETA was… the dispatcher said she «had no way of knowing»… But they would call when they are on the way. After 30 min we called back, she said the same thing. We began calling other companies, even tried Über (no one available). Not one cab was available in the area, until we reached A Better cab (we called about 6 or 7 companies) Nick answered, said he would be able to get to us in 22 minutes. Even though our time cushion had vanished, we took a chance on him getting us to the airport on time… and he did! Courteous, professional and he genuinely cared about our situation and whether we made it on time. Kudos Nick for a job well– done. Next time we are in town, we will call you directly!

If I could give this company a 0 out of 5 stars I would. I called hem 20+ times over the span of an hour and they never answered absolutely ridiculous. I would not recommend

What a great company! So professional, clean taxis… we use them every year when we are down on vacation.

My group of 14 was supposed to use A Better Cab this past Saturday night. Knowing that we were a large group, I called the preceding Monday to schedule our pick-​up and drop-​off. I spoke with Lydia, who arranged for their «people mover» shuttle to pick us up at our beach house and drop us off at the Flora-​Bama. My exchange with Lydia was very pleasant and she informed me that someone on Saturday would be calling me to confirm our plans. We were scheduled to be picked up at 9:45 pm.
By 9:15 pm on Saturday, no one had called to confirm with me, so I called to make sure everything was still scheduled as planned. I was assured by the girl that answered that we were good to go. At 10:05 pm, I called again asking for status since they were now 20 minutes late. The girl said that the driver was in route to us and that she’d have the driver call me. I waited 15 minutes and still had no call. I called back again, apologized that I kept calling but explained we still hadn’t heard anything. The girl was very short and said that the driver would call me… and then hung up on me while I was in mid-​sentence.
After another 25 minutes of waiting and not hearing anything, I called back to say that we just needed to cancel since they were now an hour late. The girl apologized, but when I went to ask her name and ask if I was mistaken about her hanging up on me (I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt), she once again hung up on me.
I am highly disappointed with my experience with A Better Cab. Especially so, since I had pleasant conversations with both Jeff and Lydia when I set up everything. I would not recommend their services as they prove to be unreliable.

What a great taxi service! We got a great driver and a great extremely clean cab! On our first trip we left our baby bottle and he drove us all the way to the home office to get it out the first cab, without charge! He was pleasant and it was a joy to hear about the area from a natives point of view.

DO NOT take this cab service. They tried to charge us $ 20 to go half a mile down the road. The driver was 45 minutes late and was extremely rude.

Plan on waiting for over 45 minutes and paying astronomical amounts. They don’t run the meter like a typical cab and charge $ 50 to go half a mile down the road. Extremely poor service and unprofessional driver. He tried to drop us off at a random location after he changed the price on us in the middle of the ride. Stay away!

Awesome cab service! I left something in one of their cabs and they were very timely in delivering it back to me. Our driver was solid and friendlier than most other taxi drivers. Highly recommended!
