A.J. Horticulture; Alex Franco owner. This young man is incredible. His talents I would describe as being holistic. He has a very keen sense as to the needs of his clients and their desires. My wife and I had taken the time to drive around and take pictures of landscapes, visit Rogers Gardens in Newport Beach, and take some more pictures, and visit numerous other locations of course taking more pictures. We assembled a portfolio of what we wanted and what would fall into the definition of drought tolerant. Mr. Franco, in his holistic nature was able to balance color, textures, water considerations, and how the plantings would enhance the property and our existing home. He really made it all come together. He also brought the project in under his estimation and his final bill was less than what I expected. If your are looking, look no further for a landscaper. You have arrived and please call him.

I had a great experience with A.J. Horticulture when I had them fix the irrigation in my rental property. The tenants had left and I noticed leakage from pipes in some areas and dry spots in others. Alex first came out to diagnose the problem and came up with the needed solutions. The next day his technician arrived and fixed everything including digging up the dirt to fix a broken pipe, changing a couple of valves and adjusting sprinklers so that all areas of the yard get covered and reprogrammed the timer. I couldn’t be happier!

These guys do a great job. I’m extremely surprised by the negative review as the job these guys did was very good. We had Alex and his crew completely redo our landscaping from the lawn to the hedges. The bid was done correctly and while we were scheduled approximately one month after the bid, this was as result of these guys being busy, a very good sign. I very much appreciated the honesty that we would have to wait a while rather than being told a job was going to be started on a certain day only to hear the usual SoCal excuses. Alex worked with us to design the yard, made valuable recommendations and made sure that the work was done correct, on time, and on budget. Even after the work was completely, Alex continued to come by to check on the irrigation, plants and overall work. He was responsive and returned our phone calls and texts very promptly even long after the job was completed. I highly recommend AJ horticulture.

This is your company if your looking to have some landscaping services done for your home. The owner Alex is awesome and has a great eye for creativity. He also gave me some great ideas for a waterfall and Koi pond I was interested in doing for my back yard. I highly recommend his services.

We have recently completed a full landscape at our home (front and back yards at the same time). We were working with Village Nursery in Orange for plants and asked for advice on landscape installation. The manager at Village Nursery highly recommended AJ Horticulture and Accent Lighting and Sprinklers, both owned and operated by Alex Franco. I’m so glad she did, I can’t imagine how we would have done it without Alex and his guys!
We were working under a VERY short timeline and Alex had different crews working on our project for a week to assure that all the work would be done in order to meet our event deadline. Design, irrigation. lighting, landscape they do it all … and do it well! Alex has 20 years experience so he had great ideas for us when we were unsure but was also great about working with us on elements that were important and even some decisions with which he disagreed. He kept saying «I just want you to be happy» and I really believe that is true. Best of all, he and his crew worked hard to make sure that both the process and the outcome was happy for us.
Alex is an EXCELLENT communicator by phone, text and in-​person, so you always know what is going on, where the project is in development and how much things will cost. The installation crews are competent and hard working, and Alex is onsite everyday overseeing the work. When the work was completed they emailed instructions for upkeep, fertilization and long-​care of our new landscape.
I can’t say enough good things about AJ Horticulture and Accent Lighting and Sprinklers. If, like us, you are looking for an exceptional company that can do it all, look no further, you won’t be disappointed. If there were more than 5 stars I would have given them. A+ for AJ and Accent!

Alex is a great, trustworthy, talented professional. He is caring for our home while we rent it out and live in another part of the state. Even long distance, he communicates well and is reliable. I had a blank canvas to work with (a new home) and was referred to Alex at AJ Horticulture by the fine folks at one of my local nurseries. I gave Alex a call and had him come down to discuss some design ideas I had. I was very suprised and pleased to learn that he has a very solid horticulture background. He understood what I had wanted to achieve and suggested better options to also meet my goal at having a minimal maintenance yard while still maintaining the look I wanted to achieve.
He worked with the design that I had in my minds eye and it came out looking better than I had imagined and well within my budget complete with irrigation, plant material, and hardscape installed. The best part of all, he makes the effort to periodically check in to see how the plants are doing and has no problems answering questions post-​installation to help keep the plants healthy and thriving.
Bottom line: he knows his stuff (what’s best in the space, gives the best visual, is easy to maintain, etc.), he and his crew work quickly and have good worksmanship, and he’s easy to work with and forms an ongoing relationship with his clients.

I’m always leery about landscape artists because they seem to be popping up everywhere without any knowledge behind what they are doing. This is not the case with A.J. Horticulture. I called for an estimate to do my backyard. Alex came out (yes — the person who answered the phone is the person that came to the house!) and was extremely nice and helpful. He had great ideas for what I could do with my yard! I am very picky and had several needs (kids, relaxing space for me, eating area…) I can’t believe how perfect everything is. And it all goes together perfectly — no weird transitions/​separations. Now I have the perfect party yard! An oasis for me and a fun play area for my kids! This company deserves more than 5 stars!
