Specialties
Digital fabrication of any sort.
Our «Micro Context» line focuses on bringing the advancements in current fabrication techniques to the masses. We seek to redefine the current «laser etching» climate. Laser cutters have for a long time only been used to customize preexisting products. Context desires to create a new product using this tool.
Larger scale products are being created using CNC machines which allow lower cost and higher design. We believe that everyone should be allowed to live with great design regardless of social context. Live in a world where Context defines your context.

History
Established in 2011.
Starting in 2011 Context was operating in the hearts of men only. When Yum Thai in Redondo Beach asked for a space remodel, Context came alive. The question was asked, «why do business owners need to spend tens of thousands of dollars to change the feel of the space when the ability to fabricate great design was expected to drive cost down?» An entire new feel for Yum Thai was created using standard size walnut veneer plywood and CNC cut stenciling. The entire feel of Yum Thai was changed for a fraction of the cost of other «high end designers».
Enter Context LLC.
In the later part of 2012, Context LLC was formed. Though the idea had already existed it was time to make it official. Since then we have created our Micro Context line which we hope will allow the general public to adorn their walls and offices with a small scale version of what happened at Yum Thai. Whether it is a skate deck or a wall clock your looking for we can help. Join us as we continue to change our Context.
Meet the Business Owner
Diego P.
Business Owner
I currently Own and Manage an 8 person Architecture Office in Orange County.
My fabrication background includes my involvement in the creation and coordination of OCC Student Competition for the Newport Beach Film Festival. Participating students entered architectural sculptural designs to be utilized for the opening Gala Night of the Festival. The successful winning entry was digitally modeled, CNC cut, constructed and installed by students teams. I organized the different tasks into separate project teams. Each team would have a Leader and Team XO. We utilized 3D modeling, presentation boards, physical models and CNC fabrication. The ultimate goal was to have students learn, share and build an installation utilizing different types of technology.
