I have been to many shooting ranges and I would have to say that Evans is one of the best, I try to get out there twice a month and so far never had anyone of them be rude, However I can understand them being frustrated when they have a crowd of new non experience shooters come in and they don’t understand not to wave the gun around or to wait for a while on a misfire and so on, I say give these guys a break! its a hard job when hundreds of rounds are being fired just feet away. I’ve had my ups and downs with Evans but they have taken care of me each time. My first issue was a year ago or so when I brought in a scope/​mounting install that I messed up myself. There was a lack of communication and I became frustrated. I spoke to Kelly and she was professional and remedied my complaint. Skip was very professional and completed my repair in a timely manner. I can see how others are turned off by the staff because they expect businesses to bend over backwards and cater to their needs. Respect goes both ways from the shop and the customer. This is a gun shop and range and therefore, safety is a priority. They do have the responsibility to screen everyone as they come in to prevent an issue from occurring. Once they see how you conduct yourself on the range and in person you will have no problems here. It may not be my go to spot for range time or repairs but I wouldn’t hesitate to overlook them in the future. We are in a time right now where we need to support our second amendment rights and support the businesses that help in that fight.

To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement.
I took my daughters over under 20 gauge to them to work the action. basically, it was a brand-​new gun in the action was too tight for my daughter to open while on the skeet and trap range. yeah she was so tight that she was getting disappointed and frustrated and I was afraid she might lose interest in the sport.
So, I took it in to the gunsmith, I talked to the gunsmith, the gunsmith said that they could do something about it.
Today I picked it up from the shop. There was no gunsmith there. But the action was just as tight as it was the day I took it in. And they charged me $ 80 to basically put lube on it.
When I complained about it, I got zero attention from the staff that was working at the shop.
I basically just paid $ 80 for them to put some lube on the break action of my daughters over under.
To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement.

If your needing gun repair or a professional deep cleaning these guys know their guns and will do a great job. The two gunsmiths there have many years of experience. If your looking to buy a gun choice is very limited. They have guns for rent if you want to try one out before purchase.
They have shotgun nights, one of the few places you can actually shoot your shotgun in the city. The Handgun Challenge looks pretty cool they have it a few times a month and prices are reasonable, a 3 hour event with prizes. Getting a lane for some handgun target practice is also reasonable. Wish i could give negative stars, they were dicks to me and the certified gunsmith was telling me that featureless ar15s are illegal which is bullshit. He wouldn’t help me switch out my stock to the frs15 which was the entire reason i was there, waste of time. There was an old guy who told me to «settle down» when i asked how long the wait would be which was very rude. Never coming here again.

Been coming here for years but I got to be honest… this place has been going downhill for a while. The original owner was a stand up guy. But the staff that’s there now is sub par. They run the place like it’s their private gun club rather than a shooting range business. Poor customer service and unprofessional staff. There’s one semi bright spot, billy. If you can get over the fact that he’s a bit of a prick, he’s really knowledgeable.
It’s the closest gun range to me, but I think I’m going to take the longer drive from now on.

Today was my second visit to Evan’s and it was great. The staff was very professional and friendly. Not more than 10 minutes after I started shooting my Sig P220 Combat, Mark came in and gave me a few pointers regarding my grip (shooting low left). He was really helpful. After another 20 minutes went by he came back in and told me that another staff member, Willie, was going to come in and help me with my shooting. Willie was great !! He spent about an hour with me correcting my grip postion, sight alignment and trigger finger control. Before Mark and Willie helped me I was hitting paper at about 1 to 2 out of 8 shots. After Mark’s initial pointers and Willie’s instruction, my final target of the session was 6 out of 8 shots on paper at 7 yards.
My sincere thanks to Mark and Willie who made this shooting experience extremely pleasant and in turn gained a return customer.

I love Evans! This was the first indoor range I’d ever been to. Now it’s the only one I use! It’s like my friendly neighborhood shooting range. Laid back, helpful, knowledgable, and professional staff. I highly recommend!

I’m a retired LEO from the Bay Area who moved down to SoCal about 8 months ago. I read the reviews on Google and was a little hesitant to try the range. However, since it was the closest to my home, I thought I would give it a try.
Well, I wasn’t disappointed. The range was clean and well ventilated (Not like some of the Bay Area ranges). The staff was very cordial and acknowledged me when I came in. This was my first range experience down in SoCal and I really enjoyed it. People were friendly and very firearm supportive. Thank you for being there (Since ranges in the Bay Area are very few and not well managed). I definitely will be back and may even do a membership!
As always, your visit experience may differ, but I definitely would recommend this place to shoot.

My boyfriend and I come here often as a week day date night and a great little ma and pop type shooting range! They are always super helpful and friendly. More importantly other people that go here are great people and it has always been a pleasant experience! Thank you!

I found Evan’s through The Well Armed Woman and came back to practice. The staff is very nice and helpful. Billy went above and beyond and shared some of his wonderful witty wisdom with us. Actually he gave us an unexpected lesson. I felt so comftable and with his coaching I defiantly improved my shot. We will be back here on a regular basis!

Nice place to come practice and let off some rounds. Front guys are nice, but not overly over nice like some other places. They are true professionals with the craft of firearms so they aren’t up for ignorant non compliant people. This is a very serious thing when dealing with deadly weapons so it is completely understandable. Some ranges act like it’s really just a game with toys and people can be free to not follow the rules. Price is pretty good as well. My only complaint would be that there isn’t enough lanes but I’ve yet to really encounter a issue with getting a lane within 15 minutes. Overall I enjoy coming here and plan to continue coming here many times.

I went in this place two times and I really enjoyed ! The staffs is very welcome and friendly the shooting lines is ok! (Just a lil bit cold, at least when I went there)
This was my wife first time shooting place and she loves also!
If was closer from my home I will probably choose this range as my range!!!

Nice range!
Staff is the typical dry humor type… don’t take it personally. It’s actually good since it filters out the weak and undesirable crybabies, who you wouldn’t want handling lethal firearms in your vicinity anyways. If you are easily butthurt, don’t come here. Stay away and make everyone’s life easier!
As for the facility, a LOT of trainers use this facility as a host location. They have decent classroom space and often reserve a private section of lane space for classes or training. The target holders are all in good condition, and the place is kept clean and organized. On-​site gunsmithing is a plus, although I personally don’t have a need for such services. Evans also does FFL transfers and has new and used firearms for sale as well!
Parking is meh since their lot is small, but there is a fair amount of street parking. Don’t park in the other business’ lot next door unless it is way after hours!

Evan’s is a small but nice shooting range with about six or so stalls to shoot from. If you have your own ammo and gun to shoot with, you’re only left with an $ 18 shooting fee per person. Renting and purchasing ammo here is expensive so I suggest stopping by a sports store before hand to save a few bucks.
SERVICE: The day before my visit my Step Dad had me call in to just ask is Hallow Points are allowed. The man who answered the phone was extremely hard to understand, impatient, and hung up right away once I was starting to figure out what he was saying. That honestly killed my excitement a bit to know that I’m going shooting for my first time at a place that has terrible service. I got over it and just assumed he was having a bad day.
VISIT: Customer service in person was just as bad. As soon as my Step Dad and I stepped in the guys working there stopped talking to customers to just stare at us as if we were lost. By the time one of the men helped us, he was rude. Even when my Step Dad made small talk he ignored him. I just wanted to get in the stalls to get away from the unprofessional service. The stalls were extremely freezing with the AC blowing the equivalency of the Santa Ana Winds at my back (to clear up gun smoke). Besides that, the range was spacious for such a small looking room. I must have been there two hours shooting targets and enjoying my first time. Everyone who was shooting seemed to be enjoying it as well making the energy in the air good.
CONCLUSTION: Once we returned to the front the man helping us at first seemed to have a change of heart and striked up a conversation with my Step Dad. I’m glad it ended on that note. Service overall wasn’t pleasant. The place in general was a good little spot to come and shoot a few rounds. People’s reviews seem to be complaining about their service. If they were to be more welcoming and friendlier, this place can easily be a solid four stars.

My friend and I came in on Saturday at 6, before the crowd arrived. We had both never been here before and I am very happy we beat the rush. There are only 6 lanes here, which seems a bit tight, but (at least while we were there) everyone was really nice and friendly. The guy working that night was also very friendly and helpful as well.
The range is clean, well organized and they also have good bathrooms! Which is always a plus when you go somewhere that you actually have low expectations for their bathroom.
Honestly the service is what will bring me back to this range! Hopeful to come back soon!

I’ve shot here a few times, I guess you can say that this is a typical SoCal small range. Today I stopped in because something I purchased was not working properly. No questions asked the owner replaced it. Then I started talking about a new hand gun I recently purchased. Both the owner and the gun smith had knowledge of the gun and took time out of their day to show me a few secrets and areas of the gun that cause problems if neglected. Awesome customer service!
