Bettina Yanez was appointed as minor’s counsel in my child custody case last July 2015. After meeting her for the first time, I tried to remain objective, even though my first impression of her was that she was extremely rude, has a hostile demeanor and scared my youngest daughter because of it. I will never understand a so called judicial system that appoints attorney’s like Bettina as minor’s counsel. As a minor’s counsel, an attorney is supposed to do ALL their homework, investigate both sides (both parents) and make recommendations based on the best interests of the child (ren). Unfortunately for me, when I first met Betting, my first attorney from 2006 when the case was initially opened and who was no longer representing me, still had not filed the appropriate substitution of attorney form with the court, so she was unable to speak to or get any input from me, no details on the long history of domestic violence perpetrated by my ex, the physical, verbal and emotional abuse he had bestowed on our daughters and his other children from two other relationships, his DUI, the fact that he had been incarcerated only two years prior for assault and battery with great bodily injury nor the fact that he was and still is currently on probation. My ex is a type A sociopath who can lie and manipulate anyone. He’s charming and believable. That’s why it took me so long to get out of the abusive relationship, which I had to take desperate measures to end. Bettina Yanez spoke to my two daughters on two occasions and spent approximately 1 – 1.5 hours each time, each of the two meetings being one week apart, totaling 3 hours, at most. I can bet my life that Bettina has personally spent more time responding to negative Unilocal reviews than she did in determining the best interests of my children nevermind considering the status quo at the time. Again, she was not able to speak to me at all because «by law», my old attorney of record was still listed as my current attorney. Due to attorney/​client privileges, had my old attorney still been on the case, Betting would have likely spoken to me and/​or through him. But the following week, when my ex took our daughters to meet with her, being that he had retained «limited scope» representation at the last minute before our first hearing, she was able to speak to my ex and she most certainly got an ear full. An ear full of lies and false allegations, smutting me up as a mother and as a woman. Bettina obviously got duped, just another notch on his duping belt and she recommended to the court that my children be given sole legal and physical custody to their father, There’s so much more to the story/​HIStory, but unfortunately, the way our court system is designed, these attorney’s are overloaded with cases and aren’t able to do a full thorough investigation of the facts, not heresay. Although Bettina and her colleagues are on case overload, the truth of the matter and another sad piece of the family court puzzle is that they are earning in upwards of $ 500 an hour from each of their clients, in addition to racking up client charges for phone calls, emails and fax correspondence by the minute, Do the math. The sad reality is that Bettina Yanez and most of the family law attorney’s would rather keep the revolving door of family court keeping parents at odds, going back and forth to court, filing documents, racking up attorney’s fees, robbing loving parents and children from their natural born birth rights, all to keep their legal racketeering and the wheels of their judicial money laundering system going, putting money back into their own pockets. This whole world is going to shit because of people like Bettina Yanez. I strongly recommend that if Bettina Yanez is appointed as minor’s counsel in your child custody case, that you immediately request another attorney. If you are a «paying» client, I’m sure she’ll have her staff work hard to communicate your needs to one of the «good olé’ boy (s» aka the actual judge on your case, whom I’m sure she has built a rapport with being a part of the legal community and all,
Bettina, as an attorney sworn to uphold the law, but more importantly as a woman and a mother, you should be ashamed of yourself. Honestly I don’t know how you can sleep at night. Oh wait. I just had an «a ha» moment. It just dawned on me, You are one of them. A self-​seeking SOCIOPATH with no conscience who sloppily gets through cases of clients you view as dumb, ignorant sheep. The only thing that brings me comfort until I can afford to retain my own attorney is that ultimately, unspoken Universal law make it’s full circle around right back to you. Maybe not you, but maybe to one of your own children, grandchildren, any of your descendants during their nasty divorce or child custody case, I never wish bad on anyone because regardless of temporary circumstances, I still do believe in justice and due process. My time will come. Your time will come, May God have mercy.

Well i let me start off by saying the place its located in a nice building off the 22fwy
Any way, we waited for the attorney to come out (Bettinna) for a while finally comes out all in a rush
Kinda like she was in the middle of something and we interrupted her (when we had an (appointment) first things she says when sees us instead of greeting us
I only got 15mins because i gotta go
Blah blah blah im busy mon-​wed due to some personal issues
Well Why give us the Appointment if she was busy, we felt very rushed
And she kept talking about other stuff that didnt make sense
Honestly i would feel uncomfortable
Having her handle my case when shes got personal issues going on.
Im afraid i going to court and the attorney wont show up or something
I was ready to start my case that morning
Even though to start the case she needed $ 5500 which i was counting on
I had an idea it was gonna be around that much
But after what happened i felt hesitant
Hiring her
So told her, i would think about it
I felt i was about to get a free service
Where the person helping you
Wont put much effort and dont care as much and you just have to put up
With it and with the poor customer service because its at no cost to you (free)
I dont how they wanna do business
Being like this
To me (customer service) its a essential in a business

Well after a couple of years I decided to update my review on these Divorce & family law attorneys in Orange County, California. I have been thinking of traveling to Orange County to meet attorney Yanez.
Last week I called the law firm to speak with attorney Yanez, but she was in court. But I happen to speak with the other lawyer that also goes by Yanez. It appears that there are to Yanez attorneys at the firm. Mother and son, «Sean». Sean was very pleasant and made me feel very welcomed. He is also one of the family law lawyers working there. I had a short consult with him where we discussed child custody and domestic violence matters. He was very knowledgeable and quickly gained my confidence.
I will be following up with Bettina since she is the certified family law specialist; since, my matter is very complex and I feel I need the advice of an expert family attorney in Orange County.

The Family Law Office of Yanez and Associates have been very helpful from the very beginning. When I first contacted the office I was told I could come in for a free consultation. I wasn’t sure of what I was going to do or if I was going to hire her as my lawyer. Once I met her and the friendly staff I knew they were the right fit. She was very honest and understanding to my situation. I went ahead and hired her as my lawyer. I would definitely recommend them to others!

I went to Yanez Family Law with good faith that I would be guided in the right path to put an end to the child custody issue. I wasn’t looking to fight for custody but to only put a stop to the my back and forth issue. Although she charged and arm and a leg, Bettina’s first impression good, she was tough and seemed to know what I was going through. I thought I was going to get the help I deserved by having a good attorney by my side. Instead I only spoke to Bettina the first day and the day of court. The paralegal dealt with my all my paperwork and all my questions. Bettina pushed the court days without making me aware and without letting me know there was a fee for that. Since she pushed court a couple times, I didn’t want to pay my 2^nd half of the fees because court was months away, I didn’t feel comfortable, especially when she didn’t even make any contact with me. The day of court I was sent to the clerks office because all my court fees and pushed court days weren’t paid, I wasn’t aware of that. The clerks office stated that should have been paid by my attorney or at least communicated with me about the fees prior to court date. Couple minutes before from court she turns around and tells me she forgot my file and started asking me questions while taking notes! Nothing got done, nothing changed, but oh she didn’t forget to tell me how hungry she was. Nothing changed but she got paid for it. If I knew her paralegal was doing her job I would of hired her paralegal. Bettina was very unprofessional, nothing like the day she got hired. She stated she was all for the children, what is best for them but didn’t prove that at all. Worse regret ever!

My husband was the person who signed the contract. I was there every step of the way and no she was not prepared and that is my biggest complaint. My husband had to help her along during court to remind her of critical points in our case. And to make matters worse she revealed some very confidential information as a desperate attempt to prove some type of point during court which was not necessary for the case just something we chose to reveal to our attorney at the time.
