Great service and food at Johnny Rockets after horrendous experience at Dave & Busters. We were greeted immediately by Sarah who was friendly and attentive. We were served our drinks and food within a reasonable time. Great décor, facilities were clean. First time guest at Johnny Rockets and definitely won’t be my last. Their brisket bbq burger was delicious. We will definitely be back.

I came yesterday with a group of friends and as we walked in we were completely ignored. We sat ourselves and the waiter brought the menus and left, no introduction or greeting, didn’t even tell us his name. My friends and I ordered and our food was pretty good. The service was bad though, had to continuously flag down the man, who would check up on everyone around except us, to refill out drinks or more napkins. I’d come here again, I’d just want a different server

Went on a Saturday night, expecting slow service, but to my surprise the service was top-notch. Got seated immediately, and the table waitress was extremely friendly and sociable. The food was decent, although I expected it to be better. The fries were rather bland and somewhat soggy. The burger I got was pretty good though. I would probably need to explore the menu a little more to give a better overall rating of the food. But for my first time visiting this location, my experience wasn’t half bad. It’s a decent inexpensive restaurant, populated mostly by the younger generation and small families.

Food was good. But the service was bad. Once we got our food our server completely ignored us and was more concerned about the people behind us the whole time we were there when they had arrived after us! l. He never asked if we wanted more fries never filled up our drinks. Once I asked if could fill up our drinks Kindly he gave me a look as if I was bothering him. Did not feel welcomed and not friendly service at all.

Terrible customer service. I have only had one good experience with a server from this location. Good food but the service is enough for me not to come back

Great service! Super fast and prompt! The shakes are amazing! The restaurant was super busy for a Saturday but was pleasantly surprised how fast and genuine the service was! Will be going back.

Went here while at The Block(now called something like The Outlets at Orange). Wanted to grab a bite before heading over to the Angels game. I ordered the breaded chicken tenders and fries. The chicken tenders were large. I was full after eating 3 of them and you get something like 7. Bottomless fries, but you only get a handful to start with. Waiter was great. Took drink order right away. Food order came out after awhile, but I was short on time and therefor I was a bit rushed. Overall a good experience. I’d like to give it a higher rating, but this is fast food with a sit down experience.

Our server Karen(I think was her name), was great! 5 stars for that alone. She never let our glasses get even half way down. She was on top of the bottomless fries. The food was decent diner food. With that said, I will definitely return! :)

Seated me immediately, made my special order fast and perfect. Repeated it back to me first to be clear, so she would get it perfect. This during lunch hour. I’m impressed and happy. She handled counter and several tables at the same time. Place was clean. Current music, not 50’s.Aurelia is the waitress’ name.

Ok it’s Johnny Rockets! How bad or good could it be? Let me just say my server was phenomenal. She was so good I didn’t even realize my food was finished. It’s rare I get impressed, but she was extremely tentative. Refills were on point and she was just very genuine! I’d come back for the service!

I came here on Saturday after my visit at the OC Animal Shelter on The City Dr. It was THEMOSTHORRIBLEEXPERIENCE I’VEEVERHADINMYLIFE. I don’t even know where to start with this one… Johnny Rocket’s forever has a different flavor to my mouth. Okay, here we go. There was a sign outside it said to wait to be seated, we waited awhile until a waiter came out, removed the sign and told us to sit anywhere. The waiter was very rude, he didn’t even ask me what I wanted to drink, I basically had to tell him. We ordered some apple pie shake thing… it literally tasted exactly like bubble gum. The guy even dropped one of my french fries right in front of my face lol :’( All in all this was the worst customer service I’ve ever had.

Better than Expected… On Friday night I was hosting a party for my daughters soccer team across the way at THRILLITFUNCENTER(awesome review I will write up later) . Called and spoke to the manager to ask options and she was 100% on board and willing to help. Agreement was to get everyone’s order then just walk it over and they will do the rest. We were on a time crunch and had to get about 25 meals and drinks all within a 30 minute time frame and have it delivered. She was warm, welcoming and pleasant to work with… most importantly… She came through as promised. Had each box labeled, food was nice and hot, didn’t forget the condiments… I was so happy I chose this option instead of ordering pizzas like we do for every team party. I fed 20 kids and 5 adults for $ 160. Not to shabby. Great experience over all, I usually don’t go to or like chain restaurants but this one was one I will defiantly go back to! Visited December 2014

Looks like a standard Johnny Rockets, but something seems a little off. Chicken was hot but seemed to have no flavor, and Fries seemed old. Chocolate Shake was as expected, and service was pretty good though it took some extra effort to get the server’s attention for missing cutlery and refills.

I can’t quite remember the last time I was at Johnny Rockets, but I’m gonna go ahead and guess it’s been at least 7 years. Appearance wise, not much has changed and it’s still the same old charming diner with the old school music machine. We ordered chicken tenders, a burger(I forgot what kind) and also an Oreo milkshake. The tenders came out piping hot, with the most amazing crunch to it. But honestly, I ordered it for the fries to dip it in the milkshake, don’t judge! Ok, story time: now they have the little tablet thing that you can pay/play with on the table, like at red robins or Applebee’s. So we decided to check it out and we happened to notice that our server pretty much didn’t take our order correctly. We had asked for the burger without sauce. And I’m pretty sure I ordered the Oreo milkshake while pointing at the picture, but instead on the screen it showed a chocolate milkshake and a burger with no onions??? I had started doubting whether or not I ordered right, but the fact that he messed up 2⁄3 items… Must not have been his day. Thankfully, the manager was able to fix our order(except for the milkshake since by that time I had already drank half and felt bad for bringing it up so late). Moral of the story: confirm with the server before he sends the order in. And don’t forget to get a milkshake!(And fries with that too!!)

I’ve eaten at this location of Johnny Rockets three times, the last two most recently due to the fact that I started working at a mortgage company that’s close by and I chose them to provide my team lunches. So, ordering online is a no-go, but they do have their menu posted on their website, so you can call in your order and then pick it up, which is what I do. It’s about a ten minute walk from the office, so by the time I get there, my food is waiting for me… Except for the french fries. The last two times, I was shorted one order of fries which is partially my fault for not check, but mostly theirs because it was on my receipt, but not in my bag. So learn from me and this review. When ordering take-out, check your bag before you leave.

All the restaurants at the block and hubby wanted another Johnny Rocket’s burger, so cool with me my chance to try something different off the menu. Hostess, waitress, and food server were all extremely nice and helpful. I ordered chili cheese fries with onions and the cherry lemonade instead of the usual strawberry. Chili was great, I will definitely be ordering it on a burger next time. I would go without the onions next time, for some reason just didn’t work for me. And I will be sticking to strawberry lemonade the cherry was too profound for me.

(Dined 04÷22÷15 W @ 9:00pm): This rocket with an homage to classic Americana could use a bit more octane! A recent Unilocal Elite Event(YEE) left a handful of us hungry for more, and I honestly couldn’t tell you how we chose the Johnny Rockets at The Outlets of Orange other than its proximity to the event. Anyway, I was game for a quick and inexpensive bite, a fellow Unilocal friend was willing to drive, and I was going to be hanging out with other attractive females; why the hell wouldn’t I go?! Aside from being a chain restaurant, were there any redeeming qualities found!?: [ONIONRINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT — 2.5 of 5STARS] Onion Rings($ 3.99) — It’s a sickness when I had to try the onion rings wherever I went if they were on the menu! The portion was good as I realized each ring was nearly uniform in shape and size(odd, right!?), a lighter shade of golden brown than I liked, lacked in those delectable extra burnt nooks, each one weakly crispy and crunchy, and the onion itself was skiny but didn’t pull out when you bit into it. The ranch dressing had a good consistency, so I used it instead of catsup. These were serviceable, but I wouldn’t order them again. Candy M&M Shake($ 5.29) — Yes, this was a «five-dollar shake»! On the rare occasion I dined at this restaurant, I usually ordered a shake and nothing more. I loved M&Ms so already I knew this was going to be good. There were tiny chocolatey bits in every slurp and a pile of them at the bottom of my glass. The thickness was just right(i.e not watery like soup or so thick I felt like I was about to suck out my lungs a la Jack-In-The-Box). And, I received the mixer container half-filled with more sweet goodness — bonus score! Service — They seated our party of five immediately, took our orders quickly, arrived with our food in less than ten minutes, we were all hardly there to have any of our water glasses filled or empty plates cleared away, and a female cashier was kind enough to split our check. The cashier rocked for doing this for us! Parking(Free) — Located in The Outlets of Orange shopping center, there were plenty of spots near and far without any concerns about street parking. Atmosphere, décor, ambience — Your run-of-the-mill 50’s-style diner decorated with random Americana memorabilia and the like(was additional description really necessary!?). There were plenty of silver metallic tables with red upholstered seats somewhat crammed together. Large windows allowed for natural lighting(outdoor lights at this time) while an abundance of fluorescent lighting filled the restaurant. There were TVs and loud background music. Grab your poodle skirt and get down to the ‘hop! Attire — Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops if I weren’t coming from a previous event. Overall, Johnny Rockets at The Outlets of Orange was A-OK Daddy-O, but it certainly wasn’t something I’d go out of my way — even if I was in the area — to dine at. Yes, the shake was killer and the service rocked, but the high-fives ended there for me. Ideal for a fun family night out with the kiddoes, but not for respectable adults like ourselves(wink wink). Prices were a bit more for the same things you’d get at a greasy spork. I found fairly good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above(total bill was around $ 10.00 before tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice… AMEX! 3.5STARS

I love fries and I was craving them. Just couldn’t stop thinking about them so when a recent Unilocal event left me a bit hungry and in need of killing a buzz in order to drive home, this popped up as the next best thing. I usually like to avoid The Block but luckily it wasn’t too difficult to find parking and spot this place. There was no wait time and we seated ourselves into a nice cushy booth. Our server was very attentive. I wasn’t super hungry but hungry enough for something so he let us order from a kid’s menu. Since I wanted fries and something cheesy, I opted for the kid’s grilled cheese with a bonus of tomatoes and a banana shake to seal the deal. Food was good — not fabulous, but good. There’s a variety of cheese in the grilled cheese and an ample amount of fries. For a kid’s meal, it’s pretty filling. I wonder what the adult version is like. The shake was awesome. I’m glad I got the kid’s size because it was more than enough and I left happy, buzz nullified, and a happy belly.

I’ve always had a pleasant memory of Johnny Rocket’s. It was the one at Knott’s during Halloween. They would stop and dance to «Thriller» when it came on the jukebox. So cool! This place was dead on the day I came in. 2 managers were working and they both rang, took orders and bused tables. I came in to use my Groupon but with my luck, this location was the only one that didn’t take the groupon… They are a «corporate store» so they don’t accept it. I didn’t want to leave after sitting so I ordered anyway. I got the classic Swiss mushroom burger… It was not nothing special and the fries weren’t even crispy! Needless to say, beyond the interior being cool and retro… The food isn’t worth the price. I would much rather go to in-n-out. They have better burgers and they are much cheaper. I won’t be back.

I went on a morning day to eat with my grandpa. We got there right when it open which was good because we got sited right away. The best thing that happen was that the host/server(blonde lady) was working very hard while the cooks where just talking and doing idk what. I order a Philly cheese steak which was the worst thing I ate it had no flavor just a little cheese, but the worst thing was the the cook(a skinny lady which was very rude to her boss) scrape the flat and gave me all the burn over cook nasty steak and put it on top of my sandwich. By the way she was also talking loud she didn’t sanitize after she cut bacon her lettuce container was not well put which is bad because it won’t get the temperature it has to be. Honestly worst resturant I ever been to. The shakes are good maybe because it was done by the blonde lady. Thank you :)
