This review is for the cat boarding–
We brought our cat in for a two week stay and I was nervous to part with her; we’d never done boarding before. I visited and collected prices from a lot of different places, but after talking to Aly at Petopia, we decided to go here.
Pros:
1. Pictures! Aly sent me an update about my cat and some pictures a few times on the trip. I thought that was fantastic and my cat looked happy.
2. Compared to some places, the cage is relatively big. It also has a few tiers so good for the cats to move a bit.
3. The room only had cats. It felt like the cats had enough activity in the room to not get bored and stay mentally engaged, but at night time they’d close the blinds to the windows so the cats could relax.
4. Their hours are great. You can pickup Monday through Sunday and if you aren’t there by 6, you can get the pet before noon and not be charged another day. I looked at a different boarding place that wasn’t open on Sunday but still charged you another day.
5. My cat was happy and calm when she got home.
Cons:
1. The price. When comparing base prices, the $ 18 a day seemed OK, but then you have to add «play time» for your cat at $ 4 for 15 mins outside of the cage. I went to a different place that charged $ 16 with an included 1 hour outside of the cage. I think Petopia should include something like free 15 min play time every other day or something like that to keep competitive.
Overall, I’d bring my cat back and was very pleased by the attention given to her; I wasn’t worried on my trip that she wasn’t being well taken care of :) Thanks Petopia and Aly

Absolutely love this place, but not near as much as my Keebler! All I have to do is say «Resort» and excitement fills the air. I know he loves it and they take good care of him while I’m travelling. I like that the staff post photos of the dogs on the site and give some candid photos so I can see my boy. I haven’t had any issues since boarding him here over the last 6 months and I’d estimate 12 weeks worth of boarding. Highly recommended resort!

I brought my dog here to stay overnight for 3 days, 3 nights. I reserved the Premium Suite for her to stay in and scheduled her 2 potty breaks AND all-​day Group Playtime per day. The grounds outside the building were clean and the inside was clean. When we dropped my dog off, I tuned in a bunch of paperwork on her shots including my information such as my phone number, email, and an emergency contact. Before leaving I told the women working in the front to call me if there were any problems. I was repeated my phone number back to me to ensure they had the correct number.
However, when I got home late Sunday night, I had received an email from Carol at Petopia that was sent Friday evening. The email informed me that my dog was not allowing other dogs to smell her, and that they were not going to allow her to do the Group Playtime and instead give her 15 minutes of individual play time and 2 potty breaks per day. (thats only outside of her Suite 3 times per day) I was also informed in the email I could add on walks or more individual play time.
I am completely understanding of the situation. However, I am not understanding why I did not receive a phone call? There was a clear change in schedule and a significant amount of time my dog was just in her Suite vs the time I THOUGHT she was getting outside of her Suite. 15 minutes of basically a «Potty Break» vs all-​day Group Time. If I would have received a phone call about the situation, I would have gladly added on a walk or 2 to ensure my dog was getting significant amount of time not locked in her Suite.
I was very upset with the women in the front office the Monday morning I picked up my dog. I was given the, «Oh I’m so sorry, we had a new girl working.» And was also condescendingly asked, «Were you out of the country so that you were not able to check your email?» Um, no, I was not out of the country, not every single person checks their e-​mail when they are on vacation for the weekend, and I also communicated I could be reached via phone call!
Clearly, whomever the «new girl» is just got thrown under the bus for no reason and the lack of communication this place has, is disgusting. I don’t believe the price of this place correlates with the service or caring of animals.

I used Petopia once again for boarding my 2 dogs for 8 days. This was my second time using their services. Great customer service! Great doggy boarding care! Some might think a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for here: A clean kennel resort, quality care, and a place to board your pet without worries. It looked like my 2 dogs had a great stay when I picked them up. Pay cash and get a slight discount. I’ll use Petopia again for sure!

Love them. My puppy doesn’t wanna come home after a day at Petopia.
I left my puppy for day care and brought her back for a weekend. She was so excited when she walked in the door, she was bouncing around like a little deer and waging her tail. (I guess that means she loves it).
Everyone is so friendly. They even sent me pictures of her the first day, cuz I was a concerned mommy. No concern anymore.
Will definitely take her back soon.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. My puppy was always so nervous to go to boarding but here, when we get there, she literally forgets me and my husband exist and runs and jumps all over the girls who work here. Mind you, she is a German Shepherd who is a mommas girl and very aloof to anyone else. I can tell she is well taken care of and is so in love with the fun she has here. Prices rock as well! I live an hour away from this place but have yet to find somewhere closer that I trust taking care of my Sadie girl.

I was searching and searching for a doggie daycare for our Lab rescue Fred. He is 3 and has lots of energy and wants to escape his yard if we leave. So, I decided to try Petopia as my sister in law had boarded her dog and cat with Petopia previously. I made the interview appointment and they fit us right in the same today. Our dog is very friendly with humans and other nice doggies.
The owner Erick took Fred around the other daycare dogs and came back to me in about 10 minutes and said he was approved for daycare ! I toured the facility was it was clean, clean smelling, well organized and had lots of dog and cat items for sale.
I admit, I cried when I first dropped him off but I was assured he would love it and be fine. About an hour or so after I left, I got a text message with photos of our dog loving daycare ! Running, jumping and playing with the other doggies. I felt a huge sense of relief. We now have a safe place for him to play during the week and a great home away from home when we will need to board him if we go out of town.
Allie (SP?) at the front desk was kind, considerate and very helpful. All the staff at Petopia made us feel like we mattered and were a valued customer. I have not a single worry about leaving our fur kid in their care.
The have a zero tolerance for aggression and if you have a Pit or Pit mix they will not allow the dog.

I’ve given one star based on my bad experience which never even got my digs into the place.
My four year old son was having a birthday party, which would include lots of other kids, some of whom would no doubt be uncomfortable with two 70 pound dogs. On Friday morning I called to make a reservation and was told they had openings for Saturday. As is usual for kennels I asked what information about vaccinations was needed and how I should get it to them. The girl very politely and kindly offered to call our vet — Orange Villa — for me, to get the information. The would take care of it and let me know if there were any problems. She never called back, which according to our arrangement, meant there were no problems.
I arrived on time on Saturday only to find a different girl at the desk, and to find out that the first girl had never called the vet. We called, found out that one of the dogs needed one shot updated, and thus the dogs couldn’t be boarded. So it was now 10am Saturday and we were out of luck. Needless to say I was upset.
A simple case of someone forgetting/​not following through on a commitment to a customer.
Judging from the other reviews the place is great once the pets are in. I wish I could’ve had the opportunity to find out.

Boarded my golden retriever here for a night and loved it. I will definitely spread the word to all my friends and family because this place was amazing. It may not be in the greatest area but the staff was nothing less than amazing and beyond excited to see my furbaby. They were all so sweet and took extra good care of him. Pricing was super cheap and affordable and being an unemployed dog momma I needed affordable. I paid 22 for the standard room plus 3 walks and the total came out to about 28 but because I paid with cash they gave me a 2 dollar discount. Hey… I’ll take that If you want your babies taken care of and lived on then this is the place.

Decided to try this place out for a weekend since my cats hate traveling anywhere (by plane or car), even if it’s just to San Diego. Petopia is nearby and had good reviews, so I decided to check it out.
The cat condos are clean and spacious, and Petopia’s pricing is really affordable at $ 16/​day. It’s nice to know that this place takes good care of cats too, as some pet boarding places aren’t used to having cats.
When I picked my cats up, they were calm and happy, which made me feel good to know that the friendly and nice staff took good care of them. When we need to board our cats in the future, we will definitely use Petopia again!

This is the best pet hotel! They are all nice and friendly. My dog is very loyal to us but not friendly to strangers and it takes a lot for him to get to know people. When I picked him up after 2 days of absence, I saw him wagging his tail to the girl who works there. It means a lot to me. I am so happy I found this place that would take good care of my hairy boy.

As a pet owners, my wife and i love our little guy very much. So come time to head off for vacation we made it a mission to find a suitable pet kennel for our dog louis. Before deciding we had visited several pet kennels. At Petopia the first thing that impressed us both was the owner Eric. We stopped in for a walk through, which i recommend for anyone looking to leave their pet. We had a million questions, which Eric took more than fair time to answer.
We were impressed with how clean the kennel was kept. The dogs that were already boarded there seem to all be in good moods. Petopia has several different size sleeping quarters. Some fit one dog great and some fit two dogs. During our tour we met his staff that tends to all the dogs and kennels needs. The staff seemed very friendly, professional and had a true genuine love for dogs.
We boarded our Louis for two weeks here at Petopia. Long two weeks for us all. but it had to be done. During our vacation the staff would take pics of our louis during doggy day care and email them to us to keep us updated on how he was coming along. Trust me, that meant so much for the both of us.
We also prepared pre-​packed cooked chicken to add to his dog food per day. They went the extra mile and prepared his food just like as if he was at home. The staff was more than helpful in making his stay as comfortable as possible.
Overall both of us are extremely happy with louis stay, treatment and boarding at petopia. Upon leaving, you can tell Louis was happy to see us, but you could also tell he was well looked after. For sure will be using Petopia again for shorter stays and long stays… Thanks very much to Eric the Owner of petopia and his staff member Ally. She was amazing with everything. Thanks Ally.

We reluctantly had to board our dog for our 4 day vacation. The prices here were the best we could find. Everyone we interacted with was kind and seemed to genuinely care about our dog. They even gave us a tour the week before and explained all the options to us. Best of all, our dog was happy upon pickup as though she had a fun time. We prefer not to leave our dog, but if we ever need to leave her again, we gave found our place! Pay cash for a free walk each day!

Most of these reviews are for boarding of dogs so I figured I should write my review for this past weekend about leaving my cat.
I found this boarding facility via Unilocal and called right away to ask about the availability as well as cost. I was informed that if I were to drop off my cat on Friday and pick her up Saturday before noon that I would not be charged for Saturday which is pretty cool. The boarding for cats is $ 16 a day and $ 2 for food, but you could bring your own food and let them know when your cat eats.
The room for cats is a nice quiet room with pretty decent sized cages and all the cats I saw were pretty content so I was not worried about leaving her. I should have taken a picture of the kitty condos, but they are the exact ones on the website.
I was originally going to pick up my cat the day after on Saturday but at 5:00 I called and spoke to Eric asking if I could leave her there one more day and pick her up before noon on Sunday. He said it was no problem because I left enough food. I was not charged for Sunday or even the extra overnight. I will for sure come back to Petopia.
Such resort. Very pleased. Must come back. Wow.

This is my first time using a boarding facility and I feel that I had a fair experience overall.
The shop is small and may be hard to miss due to smaller signage; however, the store is quite quaint as it is stocked with lots of goodies for your furry friends.
I dropped my dog off here for a weekend and was welcomed by a super friendly staff at the front desk. She was able to assist me quickly in the early AM, which was great as I had to battle morning traffic on my way to work. *SPECIAL: Pay with cash and get a free walk per day!*
My dog was very happy upon pick up, which definitely showed that he had a pleasant experience; however, as a customer, my experience was not so great.
I had paid the balance in full in order to qualify for the free walks when I dropped off my woofy the week prior to pick up; however, when I picked up my doggie, the gentleman at the front desk brought to my attention that I only made a deposit and still had a payable of $ 5. I was a bit confused as my understanding was that I had paid the balance in full. Apparently, there was a human error made on Petopia’s side.
I’m a pretty easy going customer as I’ve worked in a customer service driven business before, but felt that the manner in which I was approached was quite unprofessional and even more so rude.
My fiancé tried to reason out as to what had actually happened at time of drop off as I was the one who made the initial drop off and the gentleman responded with «I’d like to talk to her,» when we clearly came in together as a couple.
Typically– from my experience at all other business, if a receipt total error was made on the part of the seller, then this information would be shared to the buyer and dismissed as this is a seller mistake, especially if the error was marginally small. A «whoops, we made a mistake, but take this as a small discount due to our error and we hope you enjoyed our services. Come again!» kind of thing.
Instead, we were approached with a «Whoops, well these things happen, so you are still due the amount»
Did I mention that upon drop off, a bath that was not within my knowledge was also scheduled for my doggie? Luckily, the lady that assisted me went over the charges with me prior to drop off. So if she didn’t, then would this be another «sorry, we made an error again, but you owe us „X“ amount» regardless?
I’m not too pleased with the human service; however, since the gentleman later decided to forgo the additional $ 5, I think there may still be hope.
Prices definitely seem competitive and the furry clients seem ecstatic to come which is what I value overall. So all in all, I would give this place another try.
*Tip for the future: Make sure you obtain an itemized receipt. Upon looking back at my receipt, I noticed that only a total paid amount was printed. More details= less confusion/​miscommunication.

Don’t bother coming here if you have a pit bull or pit bull mix. They don’t allow pit bulls or pit bull mixes. I have a husky mix that I got at a shelter when he was 2 months old. I’m not sure what he’s mixed with. The shelter and his vet say he is a husky mix. I’m always asked what kind of dog he is because he unique looking. So I made an appointment for my dog to go for his temperament test at Petopia. I drove 30 minutes to get there. When I got there the girl asked me if he was mixed with pit. I said I didn’t know. She said he wasn’t allowed at the day care because she thought my dog was a pit mix. They did not even do a temperament test. My dog is very friendly and has never had a problem at any doggie daycare.

The girls were all very nice! They all seemed to love dogs.
When I got the tour, answered all my questions and was so paitent when I continued to ask more. We have been coming to Petopia since 2012, I feel 100% comfortable with leaving my two dogs one is a pitbull and the other is lab/​Shepherd mix.
My lab/​Shepherd does the doggie daycare regularly. And they both have a great time and always come back happy!

I’ve tried many boarders and haven’t come across one where my dogs aren’t completely stressed when we pick them up. Until Petopia! I could tell my dogs were treated fantastically because they were happy, healthy, and unstressed when I picked them up. It seemed like they didn’t want to leave. They did a great job accommodating our spoiled pets’ special needs.
I highly recommend them for short-​term boarding and will continue using them whenever our Dogs are unable to travel with us.

Dropped off my roommates dog on a last minute emergency with a Vegas trip. Place had good reviews and decided to drop off the dog and the person who checked us in was very nice and got the dog checked in quickly. We picked up the dog a few days later paid and got the dog after returning. Staff didn’t give us a report of his behavior during the stay and wasn’t too happy about that.

We strictly use this place for day care.
The staff is very friendly. I like how «hole-​in-​the-​wall» this place is because they get to know you and your family pooch very quickly. I can tell Evie loves this place because after she sits to wait for me to open the door (cuz she’s well trained like that), she immediately jumps to push the door open when I turn the door knob. She’s a big fan.
When she comes in, all the staff members already know her and she makes her rounds as if she’s some sort of royalty. «You have been licked… You have been licked… You have been licked…» After she’s greeted her adoring fans, she heads to the door to be taken to wherever it is she goes to have all the fun she’s having. At this point she has forgotten I’m there.
When we get her back, she is tired out and happy. Exactly what I want in my boxer.
Pricing is very competitive. The facilities are clean. There aren’t too many other dogs or people.
Nothing but good things to say about Petopia. Oh wait, I wish they were open a little later because it’s hard to get there before closing from where I work (Pomona). Besides, they’re awesome.
