We have several convenient locations in Orange and south Los Angeles Counties: Cerritos, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Irvine, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach and Orange.

We offer a one-​of-​a-​kind experience where patients receive care with advanced technology and a supportive, optimistic vibe. We cherish an imaginative environment with exercises, treatment, and hands-​on activities that allow patients to grow and advance their skills. Our staff play an intricate part in the success and health of our patients while upholding our mission.

We accept most insurance and medical groups, and we provide financing options for patients from low-​income families.

History

Established in 1965.

Providence Speech and Hearing Center was founded in 1965 by Dr. Margaret Anne Inman who aspired to provide Audiology and Hearing Care and Speech-​Language Pathology to ALL those in need — regardless of their ability to pay. What began in a single room at a local hospital has grown to become one of the largest clinics of its kind in the country.

Providence has expanded over the past two years to seven locations and has continued to help more than 500,000 families in Orange County. Today, the staff at Providence continue to honor the legacy of her life’s work.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the care and treatment I received at PSHC. Although I only came in for a hearing evaluation, they answered all my questions, made me feel very comfortable and performed efficiently and always with smiles on their faces!
While waiting for my appointment, I was in their waiting room. I got a chance to see a PSHC audiologist talk with a mother while her child played. I didn’t hear all the conversation but the audiologist was so good with explaining elements of her child’s hearing, all the while being so kind to the child. It was such a warm and inviting place.
I’m getting older and feared I might be losing my hearing. I was taken to an evaluation room where I asked as many questions as I was asked. Again, I really appreciated the patience and humor with which I was treated. The examination was thorough and although I am a scientist, I learned many things.

There was a rush and they waited before submitting my insurance paperwork. I have a school aged child and after they met with him and did consult, they informed us that they have no room to take him for therapy after school.

Bad therapy, bad billing practices ($ 380 surprise).
The therapy provided by Providence was terrible. My son made no progress during his time there. The sessions were supposed to be 30 minutes each but it was really 20 – 25 minutes. We switched to another provider and my son has made great progress since then.
When we first went to Providence they checked our insurance and said the therapy was covered with a copay. Six weeks later they told us the service wasn’t covered and we owed over $ 600. This was their error and they didn’t tell us until our bill had grown to almost 3x the amount we originally were told we’d pay.

We took my mom to Providence for help with her hearing aids. Not only did they treat her very well they were also able to get her a much nicer pair that work way better than her old ones. She is very happy with her experience. Thank you guys

Thank you Providence Speech and Hearing for giving me my voice back. I have had speech therapy at Providence ever since I had vocal cord trauma as a complication of a surgery. Their therapists have help me regain most of my voice and lower the amount of pain I have from speaking. I have been impressed with the ease of setting appointments to their assistance in managing though the insurance quagmire and most of all the caring of my speech therapist who works patiently with me as I try to make progress.

My 84 year old father had really been struggling with his current hearing aids having no success with his prior doctor after countless adjustments over the last year. I decided to take him to Providence Speech and Hearing at the Newport Beach location and it was an incredible experience! My dad can be very fussy and a little hard to handle and Dr. Mica Moore was so patient during the entire process making sure he was tested properly so she could recommend the proper hearing aids. I really thought they weren’t going to be able to help because he had seen other doctors but Providence was AMAZING.
Thank you Dr. Moore!!! Christina who coordinated the appointments was extremely responsive as well.
Most importantly, my dad is really happy and can hear. He had almost lost hope and I really appreciate Providence making such a huge impact!!!

Providence continues to be challenging. Those who answer the phones to schedule appointments and contact insurance and referring doctors don’t tend to provide consistent information. Instead is varies by who picks up the phone. Furthermore, Providence does not show an interest in their patients and their tones are always short and rude. The experience is beyond frustrating especially when it’s related to a medical/​health need.

My son went to providence to get a hearing evaluation and new aides. I have never encountered such a high level of quality care, patience, compassion and education from a doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Stephanie Gonzales.

My toddler had a slight expressive language delay. My pediatrician wasn’t concerned and felt it would be out grown but out an abundance of caution offered to give us a referral for speech therapy. We ended up at providence for twice weekly speech therapy for about 9months and our experience was just ok. The two SPL-​As that we worked with regularly were wonderful but when our regular therapists were out the sessions with the substitutes were a huge waste of time. Also for speech services we always worked with speech-​language pathology assistants never actual certified speech-​language pathologists. After our initial evaluation the wait for scheduling was a bit of a nightmare and we had some mix ups with billing. Overall the back office just seems disorganized. They seem to cater more to low-​income families /​medical which is extremely noble but might be why they are overwhelmed in the back office. I do think my child benefitted from our time at providence but If I had it to do over again I would have researched other smaller facilities /​private practices.

I’m giving this two stars because my son’s initial appointment seemed to be pretty good. However after that this place has the worst client service! I had my son evaluated for a speech delay and was told it would take 2 – 3 weeks to get the evaluation in the mail, then I just have to call and schedule his therapy sessions once I get the paperwork in the mail. Well I called a few times to try to set something up and left voicemails and never received any call back. I explained to the operator that I am not getting any call backs and need to know when I can start my sons therapy and she just transfers me to a voicemail where my call never gets returned. I even left a message saying to call me back to let me know if maybe there’s no openings to let me know a ball park of when he could start but I got nothing. One of my clients at work used to be on the board here and recommended the place, giving it glowing reviews, but needless to say when he gets back from his summer trip I will be having a chat with him about their inability to follow up with clients and to tell his former connections there that this facility is seriously lacking in professionalism! Hopefully in my search for a new facility to use, they will take more care in how their clients perceive them as a company who cares about the people and children that they help, unlike this place!

I took my 92 year old grandmother to Providence Speech and Hearing for hearing aids. She was in denial that she needed them and didn’t want to wear them. Chris at Providence performed a hearing test on her and it was proven she needed hearing aids. He tried them on her and she LOVED them! She now wears them every day and can finally hear! Chris was amazing with her and the staff is great! It was easy to make an appointment and the office is easy to get in and out of. I’ve now referred Providence Speech and Hearing to several other friends and everyone has loved their experience here. Very professional! Thank you for helping my grandmother hear again!

Please do not take your children here, this place has speech therapists who are not qualified to work with young children. I brought my son here and this women who «evaluated» him I swear it was day one on the job for her. She was pretty pathetic and has no business around kids.

My initial thoughts on the quality service provided by the Providence Speech and Hearing was fair not stellar. Although I had to take out a second mortgage on my house to pay thousands of dollars for the hearing aids it was still OK. But then when I came back for an adjustment shortly after the warranty period, they socked me with a charge for the 10 minute visit, I was dumbfounded and not happy. I will never do business with them again. Ever.

I was not a patient here but I accompanied one of my special kiddos here who was having an evaluation done. Boy, is this office BUSY! The office is located in the same complex as CHOC and St. Joseph’s Hospitals and I believe the parking is the same structure but don’t quote me on that.
From what I can see, they have a friendly and accomodating staff. This place also houses a preschool and an early intervention facility. I’m not enitrely sure what services they offer but it’s definitely worth looking into if you are in need of services from here.
