Specialized Tree Works

Specialized Tree Works put 32 trees in our back yard planter and also added some additional drought tolerant plants. We were extremely impressed by their professionalism, quality of work, and how amazing everything looks! We were given a quote in a timely manner, and they were able to start work as soon as we accepted the bid. We could not be happier with the result. Their landscaping work has made it feel like we’re in a retreat in our own backyard.

Steve gave us a written estimate and it is very reasonable! When an Arborist trims the trees they
know the right time of year for the trimming/​shaping that way the trees will be healthy.
Of course the Specialist /​Arborist charges more
but the results are worth it! The trees can be damaged if trimmed badly…
That is why Tree works is Fantastic, an arborist is an expert on trees the growth as well as what trees are best for specific areas of a yard.
Tree Works arrived promptly and cleaned up all of the debris! I would definitely recommend Specialized Tree Works and we will have them trim /​shape our trees again.

Great company. Expert tree trimming, reasonable prices. We have had them trim our trees the last 3 years as well as new planting. Steve, the owner comes out, checks everything, makes recommendations and emails the bid the same day. The crews are efficient and careful. Really a pleasure to work with.

I have used Specialized Tree Works for tree trimming in the past and this past December, They removed 2 trees for me. Their staff is very professional, polite and pleasant and they do a great job. I also had a giant Cape Honeysuckle trimmed. The man trimming knew I wanted it trimmed a certain way and he was very accommodating in listening to me tell him how I wanted it. He trimmed it perfectly. The whole crew are always very careful with garden items that I have placed about in the landscape, covering everything well. Nothing has ever been broken or left in the wrong place. They clean up every leaf and twig after them. I appreciate that because they had to go into the neighbor’s yard to get the limbs from one tree that we had removed and I wanted to make certain they didn’t leave anything behind. Their prices are a bit higher than some, but their quality is top notch and that is what satisfies me. I want someone who knows what they are doing and are careful doing it. I gladly recommend them.

Expert, complete, clean, and reasonable price! Bummer I had to wait almost a month to get an appointment due to holidays and backlog caused by their popularity. Steve is a Certified Arborist and knows his stuff. He has also obviously trained his crews well. And, they actually beat a local contractor’s price who gave me a competing bid. I only use them for tree work.
Steve keeps all his records, including photos, electronically. So, he knows what it costs him to do the work and stays competitive and realistic.
Hugo and his crew worked liked a well-​oiled machine. Carlos and German closed up the job by cleaning everything cleaner than they found it.

I was very nervous about getting work done on my old oak trees but Specialized did a great job — took a ton of weight off where it was needed but still left everything looking beautiful and «tree shaped.»

We had Specialized Tree Works come out to trim the 5 Oak Trees we have as well as do some fire clearance behind our house.
The owner came out and gave us a free estimate and explained what should be done and why and made it easy to understand the process. He was really knowledgeable about everything I asked him.
2 of our Oaks are very large Live Oaks, and 3 are medium sized Scrub Oaks. They hadn’t been trimmed in quite a while. What a difference it made! The crew showed up on time. They lifted the canopies of the trees. They look so much better and let it a lot more light while still looking natural. They worked quickly but did a great job and cleaned up every last leaf. Highly recommended.

We have been using steve from specialized tree works for two years his prices are reasonable maybe a little high but the service is exceptional. Steve will come out do estimates and perform the work without us being home. They send a bill that I can call in and pay by cc or mail a check. I would recommend them !!

The company does a good job trimming your trees, but they are higher in price than others. In the past, I received excellent service but just recently I was very disappointed with the condition my house was left in. They left a stain on my driveway, either from eating on it, or gas/​oil from the chainsaw. Also, there are marks all along the side of my house from where tree branches were transported.
Also, during the job, they did side work for my neighbors, but used my house as a dumping ground. The clean-​up after they were done was almost unnoticeable, using only a leaf blower. I had to sweep down the side of my house, the driveway, sidewalks and gutters.
I would get quotes from others.

Are you kidding me? You got all that done for $ 200 and the palm got skinned? I’d love to see that hack job. Probably good firewood now.
If you want quality tree trimming, you need to pay a little more for it. And you won’t need to trim your trees as often either.
Specialized is a knowledgable company and does quality work.
You get what you pay for, especially with tree trimming.
They have been trimming my trees for ten years now and they are the only ones I will let touch my trees.

We saw their ad in a flyer delivered to our house. The friendly owner stopped by to review the work to be done and provided an estimate.
Scope of work: large ficus, eucalyptus, 2 older queen palms.
Amount estimated: around $ 600
Bottom line: they showed up on time, work was completed as explained (but I was surprised that they didn’t include skinning of the palm trees), everything was hauled away.
Did I go with them again? No, because they charge too much. I found another local company (licensed/​insured) who was happy to do the same work for ¹⁄₃ the cost who completed the work with equal or better quality.
