History

Established in 1979.

Our office has been located near the corner of Katella and Glassell for over 35 years. We recently moved across the street to our current location behind Marie Callender’s in the Katella Plaza Shopping Center. During our years in practice in Orange, we have had the privilege of helping many, many wonderful people see more clearly and comfortably.

Dr. Joe Vansuch, O.D., graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1977. He is a member of the American and California Optometric Associations and the Rio Hondo Optofmetric Society. He is on the Board of Advisors for NVision, is a founding member and on the Board of Dircetors, Advisory Board of CV Management and the practice has been declared a Center of Excellence.

Dr. Vansuch has three children and two grandchildren. He has been active in Boy Scouts and loves camping, skiing and spending time with his family.

I have been coming here for over 17 years. I’ve moved out of the area and still wanted to be loyal to the office that I have always come to. I called to schedule a appointment on a Monday that I would be in town however I was told the dr doesn’t work on Mondays. The lady offered me an appointment on Tuesday but I told her I lived out of town and Monday was the only day. She STILL tried to get me to book on Tuesday.
A few weeks later, I discovered I could be in town on a Friday a few weeks from then. I called to make an appointment and was told the dr doesn’t work on Fridays. I was shocked because last time I called I was told he doesn’t work on Mondays. I asked about this and she said he doesn’t work on Mondays, Wednesday’s or Friday’s. Not to mention only a few hours on Saturdays. IS THIS SERIOUS?!
The Drs hours an be whatever they want and I understand that. However, the website should reflect that all though the office is open 6 days a week, you can only book appointments on 2.5 days. There wouldn’t be a feeling of deception if this was posted online.
All I know is, my loyalty to them was not reciprocated and I am on the market for a new optometrist.

Do yourself a favor and go to another Dr. The staff lost my contacts after I left them at the office thinking I could retrieve them at the next scheduled (about a week) appointment. My eyes were dilated and I had an eye infection so I couldn’t wear them during the time before the next appointment. When I came in and asked about them they all but accused me of lying to them about leaving them, after I explained why I had forgotten them the previous week it became more of, I F***ed up and trusted they wouldn’t throw them away even with my name on the lens container. So when I asked for a quote to replace them they had the gall to ask me to pay $ 1200. These people HAVE NO HONOR. The Doctor is rude and condescending.

Dr Vansuch is a good eye doctor. His staff on the other hand are unprofessional & rude. They need to be trained in customer service. I have taken my business and my referrals elsewhere. Don’t have anything go wrong with your glasses, they will not fix them,

Dr. Vansuch and his professional staff are the best in the industry! Our son was properly diagnosed and treated for Keratoconus by Dr. Vansuch after Lens Crafters exam failed to detect. We are extremely happy with the service, treatment, selection of frames and speedy delivery of our new glasses and contact lenses.
