This guy is a nut job! Like some other point out– a total flake! He is reckless, doesn’t return calls and does a poor job. Had to call out a second company in order to finish what he started. Complete amateur.

I would’ve given 10 stars if I could! Hired them on our previous & current houses, both were very satisfactory. Dad (Curt) & Son (Herb) & their crew (Andrew, Omar, etc.) are extremely competent, courteous, professional and last but not least, they are very kind and considerate — has helped us many-​2 times @ no extra charge when we needed the most (A/​C didn’t work during one of the hottest days & Curt came in the very same day) and the most impressive thing is that they are decent & caring people — after temporarily fixed our A/​ (no charge!) Curt asked me if I wouldn’t mind postponing the already scheduled work @ our house, so that they could help another family whose A/​C was totally shut i.e. miserable. I think that was a very kind, compassionate and caring gesture. If I were a selfish jerk, I could’ve said no. Instead, I was touched by their kindness. They also helped my cousin whose A/​C also was shut, on a weekend when they are closed. Herb went in & fixed it. We’re very appreciative & grateful.
Last but not least, The Yaegers are doing their job lawfully (many don’t, to save money I think), by having the State Inspector came to inspect their job, making sure it was done properly according to code & regulations, to prevent short-​circuits hence fire, checking efficiencies, etc. and their work passed with flying colors. We couldn’t be more satisfied with Yaeger & highly, highly recommend them — you won’t regret it!

Set up an appointment for an estimate. The time the estimator was to be at my house, came and went. No call from Yeager Services. I finally called them, and was greeted with very poor customer service. The person was rude and didn’t even apologize for their tardiness. If they are this rude before they have earned my service, I could just imagine how they would treat me if I had an issue with my hvac. I do not recommend this company!

My A/​C stopped working this past week when the temperatures really started to climb. I called around to get it fixed on Thursday and several of the companies I called were scheduling appointments for the next MONDAY– NOT GOOD as this was going to be a hot weekend, too. I asked around work and a colleague said that he had used Angie’s List to find Yaeger Services, had used them and was convinced that they did a great job, were reasonable in price and most importantly: Were HONEST.
I called them about 3pm and they said they could not come on this day, but would schedule me for the next day between 11:00 — 1:00. I explained that I would be at work and would leave the sliding door open for them. They said I could send in a check for the work.
I am thrilled with what they did. they left a complete and detailed invoice. They left instructions on how make a few changes so that the A/​C would work more efficiently. Most Important is that the A/​C was completely fixed and they left the cylinder for me to see as what had been replaced. They also put more insulation on the outside pipes and replaced the filter.
I am thrilled. It was very reasonable (less than $ 260.00). I absolutely will use them again. Thanks Curt and son!

Had Yaeger out to evaluate our AC. It’s an old unit but the landlord decided to try to recharge it with some stop-​leak to see how it does.
He came late in the day, and unfortunately the landlord didn’t call back in time to authorize the recharge before it started getting dark.
Tried to make arrangement for them to come back out after an unnecessary delay of several days because Yaeger Sr. apparently doesn’t trust that Yeager Jr. was capable of explaining the risks around recharging an older system (as in it leaking out again). I work out of the area during the day and they work bankers hours and apparently not on weekends. Sr. said he would check their schedule and get back to me on what they could work out.
A week later we hired someone else to come out and charge the system on our schedule just in time for a triple-​digit weekend.
Out of the blue today I get a call from Yaeger (over 3 weeks later, mind you) asking if I had some time today… Today? They wait 3 weeks and then call with only a few hours notice that they would be available? No apologies or anything for the delay, apparently didn’t care.
My review is completely based on the customer service experience… We did not use them for the recharge or repair so I can’t speak to the quality of their actual work.
Edit in response to Yaeger Comment — only because I hate it when the truth is bent to try to save face:
1) The landlord spoke to your son before he left the property. An informed decision was made before he even was done packing up. The delay waiting on a callback from the landlord was because you apparently couldn’t accept the informed decision already made by your «regular customer»
2) It was communicated by your son that there was a fee for evaluation, but that it would be credited towards future service. Pretty standard practice as no one likes to spend one or two hours at a job for free. You are saying you didn’t charge, so I have amended my original review.
3) I told you what hours were convenient for me. You said you would check what you could do making me thing would could find a compromise time. I’m not inflexible, but as a customer who was just subjected to an unnecessary delay I wanted to try to work out a time convenient for me. Silly, right?
This was the hottest March on record since they began tracking it in 1877… how long was I supposed to swelter while waiting for you to get back to me, even if it was just to say there was no way your would accommodate my hours because of how far I commute to get home? I would have had more respect for your company if you did that rather than waiting for 3 weeks and not even apologizing for the delay.
Even now you are trying to blame the customer rather than admit it was wrong to leave a customer hanging like that. In my opinion your comment only further supports my review.

If there were ten stars to give these guys, I would. Andrew came out to my house today. Immediately found out what the problem was and fixed it on the spot. If you are looking for a company that is honest, fair and does great work, then I would call these guys first.

We usually only leave reviews when we feel a company truly deserves one. We cannot put into words the level of service we received with Yaeger. Let me first say we had many contractors give us quotes on our HVAc whole house system. Curt, the owner, was the only one, let me repeat, the only contractor that took the time to do a proper Load Calculation for our existing home vent systems before throwing prices at us. As using square footage alone is not the most efficient process and can even hurt a system that is improperly sized for your home.
We did many hours of research and online HVAc data gathering and found that when it comes to the AC/​heating system equipment plays only 50% importance. The other 50% comes down to proper installation and technical experience. Curt also gave us a very competitive bid and was able to match the other guys bid. On the day of installation, his installers Shane and Rodrigo came on time and started working. Shane, is also NATE certified tech and did the calculations again to make sure we had the right system for our home. Later came Andrew, and the three worked thoroughly in each part of the installation. They respected our home and tried their best to always clean up after each process. It took two full days to complete our full AC/​heating job and we are glad they took the time to do the job right the first time! Andrew and Shane are awesome at customizing the vent system with our new Furnace and AC system. We bought the premium

Our system works great on its first test run today cooling our entire house and we even have the WIFi capability to adjust our thermostat from any location. We look forward to a much more efficient running AC for this coming summer. We highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an HVaC company they can trust. These guys really love what they do and they know their stuff. Thanks again to Curt, Shane, Andrew, and Rodrigo.
My wife and I will sleep better now, knowing we spent money on the right equipment with the right company.

I was looking for a last minute emergency service after 4pm. My wife had called and said the A/​C was not working and it was almost 90 degrees in the house and the night before we had just gotten home with our new baby boy. I called Yaeger and told them my situation. They sent over an repair tech with in 15 min. The repair tech was awesome. He new exactly what was wrong with the A/​C. Replaced the part with in 10 min it was working. Big life saver especially on a day it was 90+ degrees outside. I will never call anyone else for service. YAEGER will always be the one I call.

Our furnace attic was on a 1999 recall list, and sadly, the owner we purchased the house from did not take advantage of the free replacement. The Premier furnace was responsible for a number of deaths and house fires, and went out of business in the early 2000’s.
After having done a lot of research and interviewing a handful of heating contractors, we came across Yaeger Services on Angie’s List. The moment we met Curt, we felt quite comfortable with him. He took the time to patiently explain how furnaces and AC units work, what needed and did not need replacement, what rebates were available (only one other contractor did), and provided brochures and online articles for us to look over. Curt struck us as very educated, experienced, and with a genuine pride in his work, although he was not the least expensive among all quotes received. However, he did help us pick a system that would work best for our home and within our budget, making best use of any rebate programs available. He also willingly provided multiple quotes for various scenarios and price points.
The quotes provided were also the most professional we had seen. It was apparent that Yaeger was up-​to-​date with technology — the quote, use of email and SMS text, and providing documentation in PDF form — made it easy for us to stay in touch. Curt was also fully aware of City Permit procedures, including the requirement to perform HERS testing. Yaeger certainly looked the professional part. Curt also mentioned that all his staff has to undergo training to stay up to date with regulations and guidelines, including those set forth by Southern California Edison.
One thing I learned after researching HVAC, having a decent HVAC system installed properly is better than having a high-​end system installed poorly. Curt struck us as being able to do the job right. We ultimately chose Curt over all other contractors not because of price (it ranked on the higher end), but because of his professionalism, knowledge, experience, and education. We were confident in his ability to install the system properly to save us in long-​term energy cost (poor installation would result in inefficiency), and most importantly, to do so safely and according to code. The design/​quote included a secondary drip pan for the AC system in the attic to help catch condensation/​water caused by a defective AC — only one other contractor provided this thoughtfulness. The pan would help minimize water damage to the ceiling as a result of leakage.
Work started promptly and on time as agreed, and took about 5 days to complete (as proposed), which included hauling away the old furnace, ducting, AC coil, and the exterior AC compressor unit. Herb Yaeger, Curt’s son, led the installation team of three (which included himself.) Further, the new AC compressor was wired professionally at the back of our yard after Curt found that the unit we wanted would not meet City guidelines at the original location. We had concerns moving it to the backyard, but in the end, it was a good choice. Attic work, including the new ducts, looked professional. The installation team even addressed our concern of how the new, exterior piping could degrade the aesthetic of our home by routing them in an unexpectedly nice way. Thanks, team!
Manuals were left for us, and Curt took the time to explain/​verify the thermostat usage/​configuration, furnace/​AC compressor functions, and recommended maintenance at the end of the project. City Inspection passed, and conveniently, he took care of all the procedures and supervision associated with permit/​inspections. As someone who had to deal with City permits before, this was a great and much appreciated time saver.
The only negatives we found were that we came home to cigarette smoke in one of our bathrooms on a couple of days, and that the spare key we provided was left under the front entrance mat by Herb’s installation team at the end of the project. We were not sure if it was left there every day, or only on the final one. We thought and expected that the key would be taken home every day, and that it would be returned to Curt at the project’s conclusion. Leaving the key under the mat posed a potential security risk to us, the homeowners, and when my wife brought up this concern to the installation team, she was told that I had asked them to do so. That was inaccurate. We shared this concern with Curt during the following meeting in hopes that the team would not do this with future customers. So, if you choose Yaeger, be sure to address these two items if they bother you.
Overall, Curt, Herb, and their team were, as mentioned many times, very professional. Good communication, good work, patient and educated, and proud of their work. We found it amusing that Curt wanted to score as high as possible on the HERS test of the HVAC system, but that just shows you again how much pride he has in his work. We absolutely recommend and trust Yaeger Services. Thank you, Yaeger!

Herb Yaeger arrived on time, did a great job at a great price. He also gave me some ideas how to reroute some ducts for better efficiency as well as explained how to clean the condenser properly. I’ll definitely be using this company again and referring them to everyone i know.

My husband (the dentist) was smart enough to know what was wrong, but not smart enough to fix it. We were referred to Yaeger & thrilled by a speedy service call & VERY reasonable repair. The other guys wanted to take us to the cleaners, but thanks to Curt’s simple fix we are up and running again. Thanks & we will follow your advice into the future…

Thank you guys. You are saving the world… Ok, maybe just some money. I know I am supposed to have my AC serviced every year and it has been a few years, the previous guy charged an arm, leg and another random body part. I was referred to Yaeger Services and when I found out the price, I had them right out to my home. The next month it got really hot and I needed to use the AC. I compared my electric bill to last year and I actually saved money. Thank you for taking care of my Unit and saving me money. Great job!
