Stay away from Mike and his business. He will be very attentive to you in the beginning to get your business, but as soon as your project is almost complete he may disappear! He also loves to ignore your phone calls/​texts or make empty promises. We contacted him because our spa has not worked properly from the 1^st week it was completed and he said he would call us the next day, he never called. We called him each day and left voicemails and texted him too just so we have written proof. Still have not heard a word from him. Now just because somehow we got the info for the pool equipment guy that installed stuff we called him, but he said it would cost us at least $ 500 to fix it. Now why am I going to pay to fix something that never worked correctly to begin with and I paid thousands for it already! This is not the only issue I have had with this man. I also never had a final pool inspection done, and my project has been complete, I think, since back in March/​April, but Mike never told us he was done with it! He is supposed to set up the final inspection, I still have the paperwork that stays outside for inspections and it is not signed!

Mike at Sac Custom Pools just finished building us the most beautiful pool and spa!!! Wow. We couldn’t be more pleased with his work and his team. Not only did we have a challenging backyard with a huge drop off and slope we also had an easement that cut through the main part of our yard. Mike, being an engineer and great designer, created a layout that was conducive to the terrain while optimizing the space incredibly.
He also added an amazing fire feature, perfect spot for our trampoline and a swim up bar that we love! Thanks Mike!

It’s been 8 months and my project is still not complete. There were weeks where I did not have any contact with the builder and had no idea of the completion date or a status update. Many things were wrong (and still are) and I have not had any resolution. I gave a very detailed description of what I wanted and got a very cheap, unprofessional product. We agreed on details and the contract was different. I still have not received a copy of our contract even after multiple requests. Yet another excuse to delay addressing and repairing the issue. You very well know that prep work is required before a concrete pour which is independent of weather (I.e.coping needs to be hammered out/​removed, forming needs to be in place, etc.). This takes days. As you should also know, concrete pours are done early in the morning, well before 90 degree temperatures.
You agreed on July 31 to a settlement. That settlement included scheduling repairs within 2 weeks. As of yesterday, it has been 3 weeks. Your text messages was sent to me AFTER I prompted you several times prior. Furthermore, it is up to the CSLB to drop the file complaint. Since no repairs have been made, I would opt to keep it open.
What’s more frustrating, is that you admittedly concede the excessive shrinkage cracks are related to weather. That being the case, why do I have to settle on only 20 coping caps to be removed when 31 out of 44 have cracks?
I’ve tried to reasonably settle on 3 separate occasions before involving a lawyer, a concrete expert, and several general contractors for advice. Yet, you continue to delay and make this difficult.
Simply, make the repairs and fix the issue.

To re-​clarify our agreement, you and I have agreed that we will replace 20 of the coping sections. As we discussed, since the cracks are shrinkage cracks due to it getting too hot the day of the pour, we are waiting for the heat to be no hotter than 90 during the day of the pour.
I have sent you text messages on the Aug 9, Aug 13, and Aug 17 all stating that we are watching the weather and waiting for the heat to come down. As part of our agreement, you will deposit funds to Dan Salinger for the balance of the concrete draw.
Dan will release the funds to me on the day of the pour. We also need for the negative reviews on the internet to be removed and the complaint from the CSLB withdrawn. I got a call today from the CSLB saying that you are pursuing access to my bond. I explained the agreement that you and I have reached to the CSLB. They advised me that you cannot double dip — get bond money and have me fix the concrete. The CSLB advised me not to do the repair as long as you have the complaint and bond inquiry open. You will need to withdraw the CSLB bond inquiry and complaint for us to finish the job as we agreed.

We had Sacramento custom pools put in our pool. Mike was very quick, and went above and beyond. And very fair, in the beginning. But as alway when they get there last check they vanish. We had some issues with some of the stones around our pool that have come loose and after 1month the lights in the pool don’t work and the ramotes don’t work. I this in the first year, we even had agreed that we would get a salt exchange system, after it was done we asked whin it was safe to add the salt and he said In a week so we waited and asked agine and he said we r not getting one. So he said its not in the contract I looked and he did not put it in. So he said for anether 1,500.00 or so he would put one in, I have continued to try and reach him to fix the stones and lights but he has avoided my messages and I even called from a differant phone and answered it right away so I asked agin and he promised he would have someone the on mon, no one ever showed up, and I have called for the last year and a half and still no response. He could have had 5 stars if he just have fixed some of his work and stand behind his work but no. So he gets 1 star, mike be a professional, fix your work

I got a quick response when asking for a quote for a pool and/​or water feature as well as hardscaping for our back and front yards. Mike took notes and had some good ideas during our approximately 1 hour meeting. He never got back to us an estimate, even after I emailed him twice to ask if he was still interested in the job. Each response to my emails he told me that he was nearly ready and would get it to us in a couple of days. Now, weeks later, we certainly wouldn’t hire these folks to do any construction work if they can’t even get an estimate out in a timely manner.
