We teach private lessons, partners, trios and small groups in:

Our teachers are highly trained experts on their instruments. We offer performance and competition opportunities, and work with kids and adults at all levels.

History

Established in 2003.

In 1997, Owner & Director Erin Peterson began teaching piano out of her home.

In 2003, she opened Erin’s Piano Studio in downtown Oregon.

In 2005, Erin’s Piano Studio expanded to two teaching studios.

In 2007, the studio became Academy of Sound, LLC.

In the summer of 2008, devastated by two fires in one week, the Academy temporarily relocated to the People’s United Methodist Church. Despite the move, student numbers grew to be too many to take back to the previous two-​studio location.

In 2009, the Academy moved back to the original location after extensive rebuilding was completed. This time, they expanded to 5 teaching studios, adding a large waiting area and additional facilities as well.

From March 2012 to August 2013, the Academy operated an outreach location in Evansville, WI.

2015 — Nonprofit: Academy of Sound Foundation, Inc. was founded. As a partner with Academy of Sound, the Foundation provides scholarships and outreach.

Just out of high school, Erin became a Spanish-​English translator for the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System. By age 20, she was promoted to supervisor’s aide, and finally training facilitator. That was when she decided to follow her dream and start a music school!

Volunteer activities include Crisis Pregnancy Counselor, Public Speaker & Model for various organizations & promotions, Child Reading Fluency Volunteer, and Start-​up Business Consultant.

Erin’s hobbies include extreme hiking, world adventure travel, biking, and exploring tea lounges & tech arenas in Northern California.
