Orinda Optometry Group recently received a proclamation from the City of Orinda for 25 years of excellence in providing quality vision care to the residents and community.

History

Established in 1937.

Orinda Optometry Group has served the East Bay Area with progressive eye care for more than 75 continuous years and spanning three generations of optometrists. The Orinda location was established by Dr. Weylin Eng in 1985. He was later joined by his daughter Dr. Kristine Eng as well as his colleague and family friend Dr. Kelly Shintani.

Dr. Jeffrey Lewis of Orinda Optometric Vision Center recently joined their growing practice in 2012. Orinda Optometry Group provides personalized eye care to patients of all ages with state of the art instrumentation.

Dr. Kristine Eng and Dr. Kelly Shintani graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1998 and 2000, respectively. Dr. Kelly Shintani also completed advanced training in ocular disease through in intense one year residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. They are both active members of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and have served in many leadership positions within the organization including President of the Alameda Contra Counties Optometric Societies (ACCCOS). They were both named ACCCOS Young Optometrist of the Year and in 2004 Dr. Shintani was named California Young Optometrist of the year and in 2005 Dr. Eng was named American Optometric Association Young Optometrist of the Year. Both doctors enjoy seeing patients of all ages from infants to adults and are committed to providing their patients with excellent vision and eye health for life.
