Jamarco’s Salon

I don’t know what he’s trying to do with the inside of this salon and that’s part of the reason i only gave him 4 stars — it’s strange in there but I’ve been going to Jamarco for about 7 years. My hair is very thick and curly and he knows how to handle it. I tried LOTS of salons in the southwest suburbs and always walked out thinking I paid way too much for nothing special. When I go to Jamarco, I end up paying a reasonable price and feeling like a movie star walking out. Now he can be scissor happy so you do need to tell him if you think he’s taking off too much, etc. and he’s not afraid to blow dry the hell out of your hair — there’s nothing soft about him! LOL! :)

Worst haircut I’ve had in my 21 years. Got a recommendation from a friend who said he is amazing and cheap (she lied). Called and hour before to ask if my mother and I could get out hair cut at the same time to which the receptionist said yes. Arrived one hour later to find out one person works at the salon, therefore how could he cut two hair cuts at the same time? He lied to a customer. After waiting 10 minutes for him to finish a customer, he took me past his «Buns & Thighs» exercise machine to the shampoo station. The shampoo and condition lasted two minutes and was not a relaxing head massage but rather a scratch which hurt big time! He then took me to his station and dragged a brush through my wet hair-​no detangler or a comb-​and pulled out about half my hair while my head bobbed up and down in pain. I asked him to cut off one and a half inches (just the dead ends) and he took the liberty of cutting off THREE AND A HALF INCHES! My beautiful blonde hair was mauled by his scissors into a million different layers and looks terrible. He also gave me some free bangs, which I did not ask for. Now my hair is in the in-​between phase of a bob and medium length hair and cannot be fixed even by the best hair dresser. I would not send my worst enemy to this salon, this guy should not even own a blow dryer. Also, he doesn’t speak very good english. Don’t go here!
