Delish New York Bakery

According to their website and Facebook page, they will be closing the bakery on March 4^th! :(
Loved coming here for their tasty NY bagels! The bagels were fresh, not overly doughy, and had a nice crunch to it when toasted. I have not tried any of the baked goods or amazing looking cupcakes, but hopefully I can stop by once more!
The staff was always super friendly whenever I stopped in. Will be sad to see them go!

Went for my first time to Delish NY Bakery this past weekend.
I ordered the Chocolate Coconut Cupcake, a cannoli, and a small coffee.
Employees we’re very friendly!
–The Choc coconut cupcake was delicious and so fresh. I’m really not into icing so that I didn’t like… although it was good… In general I don’t like american icing. I much rather royal icing used in England. Still the cupcake was delicious.
— The crème in the cannoli was freshly put in as I ordered it. This kept the outside lovely and still crunchy instead of soggy, and the coffee was absolutely delicious… best coffee :)

I’m officially obsessed with their cupcakes, particularly the cookies n’ cream, but they are all delicious! Some great new flavors have just been introduced too — try the cookie dough :)
And they have bialys which are hard to come by in Orlando… just another A+. I haven’t tried any of their other food items mostly because I am not located very nearby to their location. But I’ll be making more of an effort to do that.
A group of us ordered a rainbow cake for a party and it was equally delicious to the cupcakes. Definitely a big hit. I am looking forward to getting a custom cake for an upcoming birthday. The owners showed me some fun cakes they’ve done so I’m super excited.
They are located next to Whole Foods on Sand Lake, so check them out, their cupcakes blow Whole Foods’ out of the water ;)

Went here the other day and tried some of their bagels and cupcakes, Everything was pretty good specially the home made toasty Bagels. I believe their Jams are home made as well.
The Lady who helped us was very nice and happy. Looking forward to going back and try some of their sandwiches!

This is why the mom and pops beat the chains hands down. Not only a bakery, but a great place to grab lunch. I had the Chicken Salad on a Kaiser Roll. Very, very good. Topped off with fresh lettuce and onion and it came with chips. They offer coke products. They offered a wide variety of cookies, cupcakes and cheesecake. Some of the cookies are shipped in from New York, the others baked fresh. Be sure and check out their Unilocal and other social media offers. They realize how important social media is to their customers.

Orlando’s nothing but chain stores — or so I thought. This is a great place to get basic sandwiches, bagels and coffee — they were very friendly and the bagel sandwiches are delicious.
If you have to compare it to a chain store, it’s a little like a small Noah’s bagels, only the service (and the bagels) are way better.

I love this bakery way more than is probably healthy. It reminds me a lot of my favorite bakery as a kid in New England, so that was probably a start, but the amazing food and service is what keeps me going back. I regret that Delish isn’t on my way to work, but realistically (especially for my wallet), this is probably a good thing.
Between their New York bagels (literally made with new York water), homemade cream cheese, delicious cupcakes, and awesome cookies, I just can’t say enough good things.
My favorite things to order? The pumpernickel bagel with scallion cream cheese and the cookies and cream cupcake. This time of year, though, they’ve got their pumpkin pie cupcake available which, with it’s pumpkin pie filling and whipped cream icing, is a treat that simply can’t be passed up.
Mr. and Mrs. Delish make the experience even better, as they are always ready for a conversation and clearly truly LOVE what they do.
If you haven’t been to Delish yet, I strongly urge you to try them out… you will not be disappointed.

I am SO glad I found this place! It’s right next door to Whole Foods and upon walking in, I was greeted with super friendly service that was warm, sincere and just good ‘ol friendly service that you don’t see to often anymore. And let me tell you, there is nothing more that I appreciate than an owner working in their business and just being super friendly and down to earth. I’m not talking about the fake friendly, I’m talking about the GENUINE friendly. :)
I initially came here to pick up a variety of cupcakes for a friend’s birthday and decided to stay for lunch and ordered the Rueben. And with my luck, I received a Unilocal Check-​In offer giving me a free cupcake with every $ 10 I spent… so I got 2 free cupcakes! Hooray!
And because I felt lucky, I thought I’d test my luck and give it a shot at seeing if they had any spare birthday candles lying around anywhere. And it just so happened, through a long-​shot-​of-​a-​chance, they did! I couldn’t believe they actually had one! So, onto the breakdown of the food. :)
Cupcakes:
— Pumpkin w/​Cream Cheese Frosting (Something Seasonal)
— Red Velvet w/​Cream Cheese Frosting (Something to compare to all other cup cake places I’ve tried)
— Raspberry Filled (Something light and fresh)
— New Yorker in Paradise (Was this a concept cupcake playing with the idea of a NY bakery being located in Florida… what some may call their mini tropical paradise??? I couldn’t help it! I had to get it because if this really was the concept, it was quite clever) :)
— S’mores (An old childhood classic taste)
— Coney Island Cannoli (A classic Italian dessert I just had to try in the form of a cupcake)
Rueben
— Corned beef sliced just right with Sauerkraut layered throughout the meat with an appropriate amount of Thousand Island dressing all sandwiched between seedy rye bread. MMMmmmmmm… and I finished it all like a true champ would :)
My impressions don’t just stop at the service and the food but one last small attention to detail that this business places is the fact that they are all about the customer. They had liquid sweetener sitting next to their iced tea with instructions on how many pumps to put in your cup to make your traditional southern sweet tea. And out of all of the places I’ve been, this is the first I’ve seen doing this… what a nice touch.

@Droolius recommended me to stop by and try the cannolis and cupcakes before my own trip to NYC.
However, instead I got two pounds of the cookies! From the rainbow and leaf kinds to the colorful thumbprint ones, I loved it all. The best part is that the cookies are not that sweet, so I did not mind eating too many in one sitting!
I will definitely come back here to try the cupcakes and cannolis. Also, they have the special lobster tail dessert, which is not of the seafood variety. It is a pastry shaped like a lobster’s tail, filled with some cream inside. I will call ahead so I can try that yummy monster!

I had heard many great things about Delish long before I had a chance to make it out to the Dr. Phillips area to give them a try. From my side of town (Sanford) out to theirs is a near 40 mile drive, so expectations where very high the first time I finally made the trek out there.
Luckily, it proved to be worth it.
The very friendly owners have a well maintained Twitter profile, which is always a plus in my book. Best part is, if you follow them, Mr. Delish seems to have an uncanny ability of recognizing any followers that stop by & greeting them by name — that is service with a smile in the internet age.
I have yet to sample their savory offerings but have found myself extremely fond of their sweets. As an Italian kid from New Jersey my heart skipped a couple beats the first time i saw their beautiful Sfogliatelle in the case. Italian pastries, outside of barely edible cannoli at middling Italian restaurants, are near impossible to find in the Central Florida area, so the fact that Delish’s can truly rival a Jersey Sfogliatelle was quite a find for me.
Though I haven’t witnessed them yet myself, the owners tell me they even make St. Joseph pastries during the feast in March. I’ll update my review in March as I’ll be one of the first in line to get one!
A good tip: make a few trips & familiarize yourself with their offerings. They feature a stable selection of always-​in-​the-​case goodies but can also surprise you with daily changes, as any good bakery should. There’s also a few items that need to be ordered 24hrs in advance, such as lobster claws.
The shop is tucked in a bit & kinda hard to see unless you’re right in front of it, but there’s plenty of parking. Seating inside & out. A big plus is that it’s a mere two doors down from Whole Foods so, if like me, you have a long drive to get there, you won’t feel so guilty about driving 40 miles for sweets. I tend to hit tye bulk bins for some healthy goods, then splurge at Delish.
A final tip: check in on Unilocal (as well as some other services I won’t mention) & you’ll get a free Cupcake for every $ 10 you spend.

This place continues to impress… I purchased a Groupon for a dozen cupcakes and fully expected to receive a lower quality product, as that seems to be one of the drawbacks of Groupon usage. These guys have it right — the cupcakes were top-​notch and definitely made me keep them in mind for future occasions where baked goods are a must.
I brought my boyfriend and bribed him with breakfast. On the way, he questioned the 20 minute drive (why so far for breakfast), but after our meal, he wanted to know why I hadn’t taken him there sooner. He even contemplated ordering lunch for later!
On another note, they have icing shots — brilliant!

The owner is funny! Very personable. Wonderful pastries. The rainbow is definitely worth trying. I wish this store was local to me
in California.

We visited Delish New York Bakery last weekend to see just how much trouble we could get in with our Nutritionist.
It is located in the Phillips Crossing shopping center on the corner of Sand Lake Road and Turkey Lake Blvd (at the beginning of Restaurant Row by Universal Orlando). It shares a parking lot with Whole Foods and several other restaurants on shops, including Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, which I recently reviewed as well (
).

I’ll be straightforward and admit that I have spent only a few weekends in New York, and I cannot be sure that I’ve spent any of that vacation time inside a deli or bakery. As a result, I cannot truly compare my experience here with what would be a similar experience in the Big Apple. But I certainly can speak honestly about what we saw and tasted.
When we first walked into the bakery I was definitely impressed with everything on display. The pastries, the cupcakes, the pies and cookies and everything else looked very appetizing. You’ll need to check out the pictures I uploaded (

Delish also sells bagels, other baked goods, a full menu of sandwiches and salads, and if you’re still hungry, they’ve even got premium ice cream and Italian ice.
we weren’t quite ready for a full meal, so we ordered two cupcakes and two bagels to go.
The checkout process was good and bad. First the good. I was able to check-​in to Delish on Unilocal and open up a coupon, netting us 10 percent off our order. Then the bad. We asked for a red velvet cupcake and a chocolate coconut cupcake along with a pumpernickel bagel and an everything bagel. But when we got home we discovered two everything bagels and no pumpernickel. So, that was a disappointment. But whatever, let’s talk taste.
I thought the cupcakes were quite delicious. The cream cheese frosting on the red velvet cupcake was the highlight: soft, airy, just the right amount of creaminess in the flavor, and a perfect compliment to the red cake. The chocolate coconut was very sweet but extremely good as well (my wife thought it was a bit too sweet).
I’m not quite sure if I should comment on the bagels. The selling point here seems to be that the bagels are «New York» bagels. While I thought they tasted just fine, I don’t know that I could discern any characteristics unique to them. I’ve read that it is the texture and size that helps define these baked goods from others. I have no complaints; I just don’t quite get the originality.
In all it was a fun visit. They have a huge selection of items, the staff was quite friendly (I’ll try to forget about the bagel mix-​up), and our order was not a bad value coming to $ 6.30 with our 10 percent Unilocal discount. I definitely want to come back and try the sandwiches and perhaps a few other delicacies. I recommend checking it out.

My husband is from Brooklyn, we know what makes a good bagel. When we were in Orlando and looking for breakfast options I read through Unilocal that Delish has authentic NY style bagels. They definitely delivered. The bagels were chewy and had that authentic NY taste, turns out they are par boiled in NY and then shipped down. The owner was happy to talk about classic NY bakery staples and talk about how she came about opening up her bakery and making it a destination for relocated NY and NJ bakery fans. The white box is tied with red and white string, her cookies were like they came direct from a NY Italian bakery. Her pumpkin cream cheese cupcakes were excellent and the owner even shared her secret to excellent icing, which I refuse to share.
Stop by for a good bagel and some good conversation with the owner. We will definitely be back next time we are in the land of Mickey. For us Delish made our trip.

Chewy, NY style bagels… what’s not to love? Definitely a strong contender for good bagels in the area.
Everything bagel, schmear of veggie cream cheese, lox, and red onion = my perfect start to the day.
They were really accommodating (even brought out milk for us to cream our coffees — I guess half and half is the norm in Orlando?), and I devoured one of those black and white cookies in a millisecond of leaving the shop. I also enjoyed noshing on their bagel chips when walking through Disney several hours later.

I had one of their subs and did not like it. It was too salty and bread was not fresh, overpriced too in my opinion.
Staff was really nice. It looks like they got some good cupcakes, cookies which I didn’t try. So maybe I’ll go back to try the sweets, but definitely not the subs!!!

I just went there again today to get some sweets, I got the PB, coconut, chocolate cookies, they tasted very plain, nothing fancy. I’m still giving this place a 2 star.

I had wanted to go back to Delish to try one of their sandwiches.
Delish is a cute little bakery/​deli mix. Bagels, cupcakes, pastries, cookies and sandwiches, they also offer sides such as macaroni salad.
I ordered the chicken club on their french bread. The first thing I noticed about the sandwich was the color of the ingredients. The lettuce and tomato were very bright and fresh. The bacon was cooked perfectly and gave the sandwich nice texture.
The bread was the star. It was fresh and absolutely delicious. Normally if I have a little bread left over at the end of the sandwich I don’t eat it but this time I ate all of my bread.
The side of macaroni salad was tangy. At first I thought it was a small portion but it ended up being the perfect size.
This place is really cute. Service is wonderful. They sell coke products, which I love and they have a quality beer selection and a happy hour starting at five.
Great little spot for a bagel, lunch, happy hour after work, or just to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Delish is somewhere between a NY style bakery and deli. They sell Italian cookies reminiscent — but not as good as ones the ones back home. Good enough to satiate the burning craving, but that’s about it.
What makes them really stand out is the fact that they apparently bring dough for their bagels in from NY. The consensus seems to be that it’s the NY water that makes bagels better — but it’s more than just the water. It’s the size, texture and how a bagel shop/​deli dresses the bagels. We got our bagels to bring home, and bought some scallion cream cheese to go with them. As such, we didn’t get a chance to see how well they prepared and serve the bagel themselves. The bagels are excellent. My complaint was with the scallion cream cheese. The scallions were chopped very large. You’d bite into, and have to tear off a bit of scallion. Just chop them finer or put the whole thing through a food processor to chop/​blend it better.
I was quite disappointed to learn that their distributor recently stopped offering kaiser rolls for their egg sandwiches.
I wasn’t blown away enough to rush back there, or make a specific trek over to that side of town just to grab something, but I’d definitely stop in again if I’m in the area.

I want to give it a 4 star but it just wasn’t that wow for me.
Ordered the turkey and bacon on french bread. Pretty solid sandwich.
Nothing paritcularly unique.
Tim had the pastrami sandwich which was GINORMOUS!
The owners were impressed he ate the whole thing on his own.
They also had baked breads and pastries (cookies, cakes, cupcakes, cannolis).

They serve everything from Italian ice (wooter ice if you are like me from PA), ice cream, sandwiches, cookies, cupcakes, etc! The cakes and all the pastries are made fresh. So good. My favorite was the whipped cream, made fresh there. I tasted cupcakes, cookies and the cream puff… MY FAV! So fluffy, light and delicious. I could have eaten 7 of them but I stopped at one =)
So glad I was introduced to this place. For my next occasion that calls for a cake (possibly the All Star Weekend this weekend) I will try one of their cakes. YUMMO!!! They have basic cakes and can make personalized ones, check out their photos… ahhhmazing!
