A really nice small music shop. Mostly sell LPs, CDs, DVD movies and posters. You gotta look hard for a good deal, it’s mostly on the used area, but is overall worth it.

I simply love record stores, but this place rubbed me the wrong way. Seems like they keep the AC off at night, so the quality of the product is terrible. Bought a new LCD Soundsystem record from there, and it is pretty much warped. Female store owner was bitching about how no one is coming in and buying records. I felt like this place was once one of those arrogant record stores you would see in a movie. Looks like a lot of people have moved on, and I can’t blame them.

Disappointed with this store… the lady at the counter was quite pleasant and friendly, but the store is cluttered and the prices are high on both CDs and vinyl. The used items were generally in average or poor condition. They did have a good deal on the huge CD wallets that hold vast amounts of CDs… they were $ 3 each.

Went there for the first time to buy some vinyl and left with some awesome selections. The woman there was really nice and very enthusiastic! We chatted about Graham Parker and Brinsley Schwarz. I would go back in a heartbeat.

I would love to give this store a higher rating but, on my past experience this store will close due to its own arrogance. The used cd selection is a joke as most of them are damaged and are promo copies from the record label that the store should not even be selling. Also, the CDs in here are terribly priced most new CDs are priced at 18.99 or more. If this was 1992 I’d say those would be fair prices but in 2012 that is rather high. I met the woman Hanna? Sometime ago and she was flat out mean. She made me feel like I knew nothing about music while the information she was giving me on «current» artists was pretty much wrong. Roman was cool as hell and that is why I’ll give them two stars. If you want to see a real record store check out park avenue CDs. The staff is friendly and does not judge you on musical taste and their prices are fair. For me, I love collecting records and CDs and I don’t like walking into a place and having the owner talk down to me because I own an iPhone. It is a shame since record stores are few and far between but Hanna made me feel like they didn’t need my business. That’s fine, park avenue has a much better selection, better prices, and they don’t make you feel like a jerk because you live in the modern age. Good luck East West records ill be reading about your closing in Orlando Weekly in a few years.

I’m a music nerd and for some reason, I usually get my vinyl and CD’s from Park Ave, Vinyl Fever when I’m in Tampa, or Amazon(shh.) I pass by East-West on the way to my Mom’s house and for some reason it never occurs to me to get the hell in there and see what’s going on. Whatthefawk is wrong with me? Anyway… I made the left hand turn into their beautiful, crumbled lot a few weeks ago and I’m glad I did. The lovely lady(Hanna?) that runs the place is cool. We had a chat when I came in about record stores in Orlando. I mentioned that I don’t recall when I would have been in there since the 80’s. when I was about 8(and I remember what my brother and I bought. and how excited I was on that ancient day). She’s a real music lover and even got a slight bit giddy at an LP when I relieved it from the bin to take home. She commented on the selection I brought to the counter(in a very cute, intelligent and respectful way) and and slipped a free 45 into my bag(that I enjoyed). Anyway, I found plenty of what suited me. all I usually require is a decently mixed/varied selection. All I mean to say is that. yes. you can get what you need from Amazon… and even find out about new bands and such. but being in a(real) record shop and flipping through the actual albums you’ll be carrying out of there with instant gratification is something everyone that should still reward themselves with. It’s a part of Music. just as going to a show is. Good to see them in town still.

Hanna and Roman are the best, I remember back when I used to work here and we had a store cat and there were 2 East Wests, one in the Winter Park Village area, and The first on S. Orange Ave. Great Selection in Music, They have access to a lot of cds you wouldn’t normally get your hands on. This Place is the epitome of an indie mom and pop record store. I wish there were more of these around still. Please go in and support your local record Shop.

WOW East West CDs is a landmark to S. Orange Ave. This may not quite be an Empire Record but Hanna and Roman do a pretty good job at having quite the selection and will go out of their way to get any CD that you might be searching for. They are the Pandora of music stores and have so many resources to locate any CD that they think you might like based on your collection. Now a days with so many online resources you might think that a CD shop is obsolete but you are wrong. East West Coast CDs is a must see CD shop.
