Established in 1997.

First Choice Reporting was founded in 1997 by Kirsty Schouweiler, a registered court reporter. Three years later, her sister, Krystal Edwards, joined the firm. Their mother’s simple words of advice at that time were, «Take care of your customers and your team and you will be fine.» With a commitment to service and positive attitude, they have expanded the firm from its initial office in Orlando, Florida to a statewide network of 22 offices and a world-​wide network of affiliates and court reporters.

After first becoming a court reporter in 1992, then learning the business by working for others for five years, Kirsty started First Choice Reporting in 1997 in Orlando, Florida.

From the beginning and to this day, Kirsty has navigated First Choice through dramatic growth and continuous change. Kirsty credits her professional success to three solid principles: Listen to what your customers are telling you and deliver the best service; recruit and retain the very best reporters; and finally, surround yourself with a team of like-​minded, talented people who share your vision.
