This location seriously needs to work on hiring some friendly people, I mean it has friendly in the name. Our server did not smile not one time, to us or anyone else she waiting on which was 80% of the place. The only person that had a smile was the food runner. We came with two kids and had to ask for a menu for them and we only got one, which we had to get up and get another ourselves because of course, one kid wants what the other has. when placing the order for them she didn’t even ask what kind of drink they wanted and didn’t bring the ice cream either. I’ve noticed the last few times I’ve came here half the servers are dressed for bed, or the gym not work. we had to walk our bill up to pay. I didn’t see any pre bussing. There was no sense of urgency. And 10 dirty tables when we left. I seen online they were hiring for a hostess. In my option they need a whole new wait staff! And uniforms. Maybe am being to critical because I have been in the resultant business for over half my life, but come on. The management needs to crack some wips around the place and get it together. If the food wasn’t so good I would not come back. A warm body working is not cutting it !

Ive been here several times and I finally decided to review it. For starts the food is decent id say for a sports bar its a little generic but good. The prices are fair, though I think they recently raised them. And finally the service. It seems to be very hit or miss I’ve been there where every time i look up there has been someone getting me a refill or asking if there was anything I needed then sometimes like this last time we had two servers helping us and i went at one point 20 minutes without seeing someone and with an empty drink and when they did come back they apologized for making us wait took my drink for a refill and didn’t come back for another 5 minutes which was a little frustrating

Great restaurant/bar with good food, an excellent beer selection, and great service. They have plenty of TVs around to catch all the games. The bartenders are very friendly, although they could stand to be a little less cliquey, and the«$ 5 burger and a beer» nights can’t be beat. They also have poker in their back area on Thursdays, which adds to an already good experience.

Pros: price, location(near downtown) football game place, big screen, 2 bars, customer service, atmosphere, taste, originality of food and making it unique. Cons: Their a Chicago bears place. They can’t really help that I guess.

Another place I decided to try in my new neighborhood. This is a unique sports bar in the sense that is pretty family friendly. Kids eat free during the weekdays. There are specials every day like $ 5 off craft beer pitchers. Ive never been to a sport bar where they actually served craft beer pitchers. There is also an awesome deal on Thursdays where you can get a half lb burger and a beer for $ 6.99. The burger alone is normally $ 9.99. I tried the St Louis ribs and they did not disappoint. Best think about this place is that it truly caters to locals. That’s a rare thing in Orlando.

Food is solid. Prices are decent, nice that they have lunch specials. The service is hit or miss, often times it starts off very good, but then tails off. Not sure how often I would go for dinner, but good for a cheap lunch.

I’ve been to this location twice and both times had a great experience. The atmosphere is your typical bar-esqe atmosphere but is great for kids. This friendly confines location has an outside patio with high tops and televisions. On the inside there is a front room and a backroom in which both areas have televisions and bars. The front of the restaurant has tables and high tops, as the backroom has only hightops, but also a pool table and arcade machines. The food here is great. The first time I came here, I had the chicken wings which were great. They have a variety of sauces to go with their wings and bear claws(chicken tenders). On my second visit, I got the sweet fries which were sweet potato fries that came with sweet aioli sauce and honey to dip in, which was almost like a dessert as good as it was. My entrée was the full rack of ribs that I chose to come with waffle fries and ceasar salad. The ribs were fall off the bone good. I had pulled out about three bones before I was able to pull a piece to take a bite of! If you want to watch your favorite sports team play, hang with friends while having a beer, or would just like bite to eat, come to this friendly confines. SN: This is a Chicago themed sports bar.

I’ve tried other Friendly Confines locations, and frankly they were disappointing. This location was a pleasant surprise. I ordered a wing basket with a garden salad. The wings were hot and the salad was very fresh and nicely presented. The ordered the wing sauce on the side. As such I was able to detect that there was no seasoning on the meat. Apparently the sauce is supposed to take care of all the flavor. Despite this, the chicken tasted very good, just needing a light sprinkle of salt. The salad dressing was a bit thin, but flavorful nonetheless. Forget the other FC locations. This is the one!

I was pleasantly surprised by Friendly Confines! It’s definitely going to be included in my rotation of local hangouts. My husband and I had been busy all day and wanted dinner. It was around 9 p.m., so it was bit late for most places. We honestly wanted Buffalo Wild Wings(a favorite of mine), but the closest one to downtown was still almost a half-hour away. We took to the internet and started looking for local places with the Buzztime tablets(they have poker, trivia, etc. and are super fun). Friendly Confines had Buzztime and was conveniently located to our house! As far as location, it is located a bit farther south on Orange Avenue than we usually prefer to go. However, it was in a perfectly fine spot with a lot of parking. It was pretty busy, but we got parking no problem. After the hostess noticed us(which did take a minute), we were promptly seated at a clean table. While we were waiting, we looked around and noticed the large bar, a fairly impressive arcade game section, and a back room. We later learned that the back room was the more«club» like section. It has karaōke, dancing, and a larger bar. It looked sort of fun(the crowd ran a bit older), but we were here for dinner. Once we were settled into a riveting game of digital Texas Hold’em, we ordered. Our waitress was very nice and patiently waited for us to make food and drink decisions while we simultaneously made bets. They have regular bone-in wings and«cubbie claws.» These are like small chicken tenders. They seem to have these in place of boneless wings. No problem for me. I got five of the things for less than $ 6, so that’s a crazy good deal. My husband got the cubbie claws meal, so his came with a side. You can also get carrots or celery. The sauces were good, but I was disappointed with the spice level. Their hottest sauce turned out to be what I would consider a barely medium level of spice. However, I’m kind of a spicy food freak, so take that lightly. The food was all good and served promptly. Also, this place has a ton of specials! Even though it was Saturday night(which is a peak restaurant time) they still offered $ 5 off craft pitchers of beer! We got a pitcher of Goose Island for something like $ 10. Really good deal. They have even more specials on other days too. Overall, this is a fun and clean bar with a local’s vibe. It’s family in the front and party in the back, and I think we’ll be returning!

I do love a good Chicago bar close to my Florida home! The place is BIG. There is a secondary bar in the back that is more adult/dive/sports bar like. The front area is more family friendly and restaurant like. the food was good– big portions. The drink specials were nice, and their beer list was much larger than I was expecting. Not the greatest service, but I wasn’t expecting it either. Good weeknight find.

My favorite one so far! Taco Tuesday is a regular stop for us and the queso should be on your to-do list. Good selection of food and specials so you should definitely check them out any day of the week. My one complaint is that the Death sauce isn’t very«Death-y» but delicious none-the-less. ;) Don’t forget to look for Trish AKA Patricia! Seriously the best bar tender ever. Awesome service delivered with a quick wit and easy smile. Oh and you haven’t lived until you’ve had one of her picklebacks! She is one of those awesome bartenders that can give you tastey suggestions when you aren’t sure what you want or remembers your«usual». Take good care of her Confines because she is definitely an asset!

I enjoy this establishment just about every weekend. Good people. Good food. Nice customers. It’s living up to its name. I’ve been to three of the four Florida locations. They have a really nice friendly feel in all of them. Go and make some new friends or bring yours along and they will thank you.

I’ve given this locations two attempts, its right down the street from my house. On the first occasion, my husband and I, sat down to eat. The service was EHHH-okay, the server seemed annoyed by the amount of questions I had on the menu and was the only server on running around, which is ridiculous. Anyways, we ordered wings and received nearly all flats, which I didn’t mind but my husband did because we’re a divided house on which is best. The wings were decent. So we tried it again tonight… We ordered takeout, so I cant comment on how crispy the wings were because by the time they got home they were soggy, but barely tossed in any sauce at all. Not to mention out of an order of 25, 4 were flat and 21 drummettes. The gentleman who took my order was rude, and quickly passed over the phone to another employee. Long story short, there are plenty of other restaurants I’d rather patron in the area Friendly Confines isn’t worth the third chance.

The parking lot was jammed but with good reason. It was a trifecta of sorts. First it was burger night and a preseason Bears and Jaguars game was on. When you walk in the restaurant is ringed with TVs. Tables to the right are high tops and to the left are normal tables. We were offered our choice but what was surprising was the number of children and tables of families. This place has the vibe of a neighborhood joint in Chicago where you hang out with family and friends. It might also have been the Thursday night special which was a burger and beer/soda for $ 4.99! So we were seeking Chicago favorites and my husband had the Italian Beef(9.99) with provolone(.99). Served with authentic gardener and wet. My husband chose the sweet potato fries for his side. This was a tasty sandwich and the fries looked hand cut and they were cooked perfectly. Overall a fair price for this meal. I had the Chicago dog with a side of the vegetable, honey carrots, at $ 7.99. So Hotdog Heaven, in my opinion, is the gold standard in Orlando for Chicago dogs and they have nothing to worry about. The dog was plump and grilled but I did not detect celery salt. Overall not a bag dog and the carrots were a generous portion. The carrots however weren’t fully cooked. Think dump a good portion of baby carrots and microwave them for a few minutes. There was a little honey in the bottom of the bowl. Since the restaurant was busy and our food came pretty quickly, I will let that one slide since I ate them anyway. As mentioned they have a lot of craft beers and many on tap. Seems they are keeping the mix fresh as I was able to try a new beer they just added on tap, Abita Purple Haze $ 4 and not happy hour Nice! They are going to show the Bears and for college UCF and Michigan. Legends(now Docs again) which is further up Orange used to have a Bears fan club, but they moved it to I drive where they have very expensive beers and food. I am looking forward to returning for Bears games since this place really suits my families taste.

We went there tonight for their Taco Tuesday… It sounded like a good deal… until we ordered… a beverage is required… The $ 1.29 taco doesn’t come with any taco sauce, but you can buy sauce for an additional .75! They’re the same size as a Taco Bell taco. I ordered 2 beef and 1 chicken without onions, they came with onions… When the 2nd order arrived, the 2 beef tacos had so much grease, there was a puddle of grease on the plate… the chicken taco wasn’t bad though… so, long story shirt… just go to Tijuana Flats for their Taco Tuesday for about $ 5.50. You get 2 large taco’s, chips & a drink! They have a sauce bar with over a dozen sauces to choose from(for free!) BTW, it was so loud in the restaurant, we couldn’t even hear each other talk at the table…

We were given coupons from another business in Orlando one night for the Friendly Confines. We figured we stop in and use the coupon(free double captains or double vodka drink) and have some dinner. The restaurant is very large and full of plenty of tables. They were very busy, but we were seated right away. Unfortunately, we were seated in the arcade section. This section was also filled up with kids begging their parents for money. If you aren’t with your kids, I suggest you sit elsewhere. I am very impressed with their beer selection. Since this is more of a sports bar, I was expecting your normal domestic selections. They have a huge craft beer list though, one of the biggest I’ve seen in the area. There were many choices on draft but even more in bottles. Also, the prices seemed to be a little cheaper than most places. I wish I could say as good of things about their food menu. Vegetarians beware, you won’t find much of anything here to eat. I ended up just going with some potato appetizer dish and the nachos without the meat. They were both pretty average. Our server was very nice. She was also pretty busy. It took a long time for her to bring drink refills and to check in on us. I am not sure if I will come back for the food, but I will definitely come back for the beer selection!
