Lorna Doone Park, one of Orlando’s larger green areas happens to sit next to the Citrus Bowl. Spreading out over 16.26 acres, the park plays home to concrete picnic tables, a brightly colored playground, basketball courts, and a swing set. Some of the tables are covered and some are not so if the skies open up you do have a refuge.
Another popular activity to do while you’re here is cast your fishing pole into the nearby lake. Fishing enthusiasts have a free pass to catch fish and enjoy the scenery. Traverse along the walking path around the lake and find a comfortable spot. While I was there, I unfortunately didn’t see any fishermen but I could see why I would be a great destination for that hobby. There seemed to be enough parking for those in attendance with room for a few other cars so you needn’t worry about that.
I would like to mention that this park is in an area that can be considered unsafe. So be mindful of this fact when you are making plans to go there.
