Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate

This was my second visit to the resort in as many years for a conference. This is the first time I got to enjoy anything at the resort — the restaurants, pools, etc. The resort is beautiful and has much to see and do. Located just outside of Orlando you are close enough to Disney World and the airport, but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet.
The pools and lazy rivers are beautiful and the resort offers several different restaurants.

Wonderful customer service and beautiful resort ! Would definitely revisit ! The restaurant options are excellent and there is a nice golf course and lazy river /​pool.

A few years ago I took my family to go to Disney world and Universal Orlando on a vacation a few years back and we stayed at this hotel. First of all, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the service and rooms are very clean. We stayed in a Villa for nine days and it was a perfect atmosphere! A very nice patio and pool with a lazy river and a perfect golf course makes the Omni hotel a great place to say for a few nights.
The food and buffet are excellent and food servers did a perfect job filling all orders! I would definitely come back and recommend this nice beauty of a hotel to all your friends!

Great for families, not so great for young adults, haha! The hotel is family oriented. We were here for a conference and needed to get off property, its not a happening place at night. With that said, great food though! Nice service and friendly staff. The hotel itself needs a little modernizing, it feels very old school. Pool area is nice but loud, I wouldnt say its relaxing; lazy river is packed with people and kiddos. Again, great for families! Room service was good and pretty quick, housekeeping was ok,… They forgot to provide more tea and I’m not a coffee drinker. And the bed sheets kept coming off the bed in the middle of the night. Our room had terrible views and there was no reason for a balcony. I opened the door and it was facing the A\C units right there and they are super noisy! So We never used the balcony even though we saw some gorgeous sunrises through the window, too bad the a/​C units are so ugly and so loud and right there.

This is a pretty cool hotel/​resort complex. I stayed here for two nights for a work outing. As you drive up — the place looms up massively. It was evening when I rolled up — so it looks even cooler with the lighting and such.
Check in was thorough — almost to thorough! I was wondering if the front desk person was ever going to let me go to my room! The staff are very detail oriented and helpful.
My room was clean and comfortable. The AC worked reasonably well. The WiFi network was fast and allowed me to get all of my work done. The HD TV in the room came with a number of HD channels — although as I recall, I don’t believe all of them were in HD.
The room included a mini-​fridge — which is always a plus. I was able to keep a few bottles of water cold for overnight.
There are a number of restaurants and bars in the hotel/​resort. Unfortunately, I did not get to experience all of them due to the shortness of my stay. I visited and experienced David’s Club on two evenings for ales and cocktails, and Trevi’s for breakfast — two mornings in a row, Morsel’s after breakfast for iced coffee both days, and the Broadway Deli for lunch one day.
There is also Piper’s Grill — which is located in a building out on the golf course, Croc’s — located out at the pool, and Zen — a Sushi restaurant — all of which I missed out on trying. And there is also the Lobby Bar — located of course in the Main Lobby.
The hotel also has a gift shop named — Sunrise Sunset Gift Shop — and a business center named 11^th Hour Business Center — that handles shipping, printing, copying, etc.
Out back are two different pool areas, and what I thought was really cool — is an artificial «River.» You get in it and float through the river course as it meanders along. Next time I need to remember to bring some swimming trunks!

Had a great stay here for a Conference. Front desk checked me in early and gave me a King size bed upon request. Spent the day at the pool, enjoying the lazy river and water slide for a little bit of fun. Loved the deli on site as well as the Italian restaurant Trevi’s. Delicious food! Room was nice and bed was comfy. Housekeeping kept everything immaculate. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.

Absolutely amazing staff and stay! From the time you pull into the front of the hotel, attendants are there to greet you with a huge smile and promptly open the door for you. Check-​in is a breeze and every single person on the front desk team goes above and beyond with ensuring guests are at maximum comfort and happiness. I had the pleasure of checking in with Irena, who remembered my name and even walked me over to one of the hotels I was interested in.
Erika also went beyond her calling when I missed out on a guest perk from the morning. She tracked down the food and beverage staff and had them personally deliver the amenity to my room. When you call any department from the in-​room phone, each one is so elated to receive your call and service you.
My one minor con would be the temperature in my room remained freezing even though I had cranked the thermostat up to 85 degrees. With the hospitality of all the staff members there, it completely make up for bothering to complain about it. I would definitely stay there again when I find myself in Orlando.

Service was fine. Room was past its prime generally and had broken coffee maker… although we could order complimentary coffee in morning. Little things like a light bulb not working. Pools and lazy river nice, but seating near them limited. Breakfast buffet and made to order omelets the highlight.

Oh Omni… your customer service was awful!!! how excited we were to stay here only to be disappointed by the staff. Let me clarify, this review us for the Omni staff, we never did get to stay in the hotel. We just had our first major flight cancellation due to freezing weather and storms in denver. We had to drive 3 hours to another airport to wait overnight for a new flight and layover in Dallas to get to florida. We’ll we lost a day of travel and also our hotel. When we arrived, in the middle of a thunderstorm, tonight we were told that they had cancelled our room. Which was already paid for in full, thru hotwire, by the way. They confirmed that, but said since I was not there yesterday I could book a new stay. So, I paid for a full week, don’t get that and have to pay you for a whole new reservation and now 5 days instead of the original 6. After talking with hotwire and having them fax omni all my info, I was then told by a staff member that I would need to contact hotwire again because they did not get the credit card number?! First, why do you need another credit card, and secondly why am I having to do all this for you?! The assistant manager Phil, hid in the back and did not come back out… I will be filing a claim with hotwire and Omni directly! Have not gotten my money back and am currently trying to book a more customer service friendly establishment!!!

The Nashville omni was nicer.
The better part of Orlando is the lazy River, pools.
Almost half hour from Orlando, not much around this complex. I hate golf, so that doesn’t help.

I stayed at this hotel for the weekend while I was in town for a family wedding. We booked a king sized room which was fairly big in size, clean, had a comfy bed, and the bathroom was pretty big as well. There is a small refrigerator and safe underneath the TV but no mini bar or snacks to purchase.
The staff here were all very friendly and attentive. There was a kids dance competition the weekend I was in town so you can imagine how many unruly children were running around this hotel. Each floor at night had quiet times posted upon exiting the elevator and there were 2 security guards manning each floor (at night only) to make sure the rules were enforced– great touch! Needless to say, I slept very well each night.
The hotel also had 2 nicely sized pools, a slide, and a lazy river. Unfortunately the weather was not warm enough, IMO, to sunbathe or enjoy the pools so I primarily hung out at the pool bar. Croc’s (the pool bar) was great! The bartenders were attentive, quick, and they also have a full food menu that you can eat there or take to-​go. I definitely recommend the cheeseburger with fries and their buffalo chicken wings! Their specialty cocktails were also great– my favorite was the Honey Grapefruit Crush.
I also enjoyed their Lobby Bar– the bartender there was awesome! Very observant and kind, he even stayed open a little bit later than he had planned when we came there late night after the wedding I attended.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and only wished we had come when the weather was nicer so I could enjoy the pools.

Really disappointed with our stay here. While the room was lovely and customer service fantastic, they fell very short in other areas that you wouldn’t expect from an Omni. We constantly heard noisy children running the hallways. We ordered room service but it took extra long because they didn’t have a readily available gluten-​free menu. They didn’t disclose that parking was not included in the stay when we booked our room. And when I took time to write to management about our experience, they had nothing more to offer than thank you for my time! Very shocked overall — the price you pay is not worth a poor experience!
In regards to Kelly’s response: Omni should consider ensuring Omni standards are effectively communicated through third party companies who offer rooms. In regards to the GF menu; obviously I requested this, and was told over the phone they’d have to call me back — that they did NOT have a GF menu. While I understand these are minor issues, it’s the poor customer service I’ve since received that has put such a bad taste in my mouth.
Bottom line: Customers and clients want to know they have been heard, and Omni has done nothing but argue to protect their brand rather than make things right with their «valued» patrons.

I originally had booked a stay at a «4 star resort» through Hotwire when I arrived that property was well, gross.
I got a great last minute deal on a 3 night stay at the Omni and promptly left the first «resort».
Arriving at the Omni I was so relieved to see the polished floors and CLEAN rooms. I thought my stay couldn’t get any better, but it did.
Customer Service: The staff was polite, accommodating and very professional. The shuttle drivers to and from Disney went out of their way to make the experience great. Both nights returning from the park they asked if I wanted to stop at Walgreens or Publix to pick up anything. One morning myself and the other party were both going to Hollywood studios so they dropped us there instead of the schedules Epcot & TTC stops. They were great!
Pools: I spent each morning floating around the lazy river. The pool area was clean and well kept. The towel station was always full and it was quiet and relaxing. They keep the adult pool separate from the family pool.
Cleanliness: The entire resort from the pools to the lobby and elevator were SPOTLESS.
If I ever return to Orlando I will absolutely be staying here.

Good service, comfortable settings, bright color schemes, all lend to a very pleasant stay. I really enjoyed my morning runs on the golf course, and even managed to sneak into the manicured athletic fields for some quality sprints.
The only and biggest drawback; if you are not a golfer, you’re in the middle of nowhere. Especially in Orlando where there are so many attractions and other experiences, but you have to drive a good number of miles to get to them from this hotel.

What a wonderful weekend we had. From the moment we checked in, to the moment we left… Everyone from the bellman, front desk, housekeepers, Breakfast staff, and even the Intern there… It didn’t matter who we interacted with… EVERYONE There job.
Special shoutout to Freddy, the shuttle driver. What a wonderful outlook on life he has.

Have stayed here many times ! This time pillows unfortunately have a strange smell. Otherwise great place that offer wonderful military discounts. Next time i wouldn’t get a room that high up since from here you have a partial view of air conditioning units on roof! love the pools

Alright, I’m gonna keep this review in short handy blurb form —
*As a resort, the Omni is fantastic — awesome lazy river (complete with occasional water cannons on the side and complimentary inner tubes), a water slide for the kids, several coffee/​deli joints in the building and a lovely cocktail bar.
*The bar is expensive, so don’t go there looking for a cheap beer or 2. When I say expensive, I mean $ 8 for a budweiser, so you’re better off buying your buds at the Walgreens down the road.
*If you don’t want to splurge on overpriced resort food/​drinks/​supplies, there’s a grocery store and walgreens down the street, as well as a pizza place and mcdonalds.
*The website says that it’s required to book complementary shuttles to disney parks 24 hours in advance, and maybe that’s necessary for the busy seasons, but it’s definitely not mandatory all the time. We ended up booking our shuttles first thing in the morning on the days of our park visits and were just fine.
*Since the website doesn’t seem totally forthcoming with the shuttle schedule, here it is —
— Departing to Epcot: 8:30 am, 9:45 am, 11 am, and 1:30 pm. Return from Epcot: 3 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm and 10 pm.
— Departing to Magic Kingdom: 8:30 am, 9:45 am, 11 am, and 1:30 pm. Return from Magic Kingdom: 3:15 pm, 5:15 pm, 7:15 pm, 10:15 pm and 11:15 pm.
*Omni doesn’t have shuttles going to Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, but according to my sister if you ask the bus driver nicely (and give them a bit of a bribe) they’re usually happy to take you there.
*If you’re renting a car, self-​parking in the lot is $ 16 bucks a day. Personally I think that’s ridiculous and that’s most of the reason Omni gets only 4 out of 5 stars.
*Last but not least, free wifi.

The thing about participating in travel sports with kids is that you don’t necessarily get to choose the hotel you stay at. For this same tournament in Orlando last year, we stayed at a Radisson Resort that was terrible. This year, however, we hot the jackpot!
The Omni Orlando Resort at Champions Gate is a class act all the way. It is a huge resort with amenities for everyone including a spa, par 3 golf course, kids club, elaborate pool area with a lazy river, and several restaurants. Both the rooms and public area are immaculate. I can’t say enough about the staff, who were always so friendly and helpful.
The rooms were nice but not overly opulent. The beds were comfortable and the towels were fluffy. The only reason this hotel actually does not get 5 stars is that we found the double room to be quite small. There was not even room for a roll away. I even found the bathroom to be small for this caliber of hotel. Even though I always bring my own toiletries, some luxury toiletries would be a nice touch instead of the «Omni» brand.
I do also have to comment about the fields at Champions Gate where my sons played lacrosse for two days as there was no separate check in for them. The fields were right next to the hotel! I have never seen such a set up and it was fantastic. The walk to the fields was about 10 minutes which could be a schlep with the requisite chairs, wagon, cooler, etc. However the hotel had continuous shuttles (golf carts) going back and forth to transport families and their belongings. Also, the fields were in great condition and the facilities were immaculate. I have never seen garbages emptied so many times and bathrooms so clean at a field!
Overall, a great experience at the Omni Orlando Resort at Champions Gate. It is a nice hotel and I am totally impressed with the hotel/​field concept. It made things so convenient. Wish we had won this year like last year instead of being the runner ups, but I am sure we will be back at this tournament next year for retribution, and I hope we stay at this hotel!

This is one of my favorite resorts to frequent in the Orlando area.
The rooms are modern and personally the beds are one of the most comfortable I’ve slept on. One annoying thing is the closet door behind the main door is spring loaded so it doesn’t stay open. You have to hold the closet door open to put in luggage or get to clothing or get to whatever you’re trying to get to. #FirstWorldProblems.
There are plenty of recreational amenities. There is a large family and kid friendly pool area (with servers to bring you food and drinks), a lazy river and then a more adult oriented quieter pool. TIP: There are many amenities, but you’re paying for it. We got a great deal on priceline, just know that like many orlando resorts, there are many daily resort fees, paid parking etc. Personally for me paid parking is a total rip off, but it’s the price of «getting a good deal».
The grounds of the resort are well kept and well landscaped. Staff is friendly.
The resort also boasts several shops, restaurants and even a rental car booth. This is a resort that you could come to for several days without even leaving.
Champions Gate is approximately 10 –1 5 minutes from the Disney parks and likely 30 to 40 minutes from SeaWorld/​Universal. It is on the West side of Disney area on the way to Tampa (just inside Polk County).

Very nice hotel accommodations very clean very new looking. The property grounds were spectacularly manicured. Very nice bar area and sports bar area only major drawback with this location is there is nothing anywhere around. Have to drive 15 to 20 minutes to get anywhere.
