Peppy Terrence MD OB-Gyn

Dr. Peppy is an outstanding OBGYN. I am pregnant with my 3^rd child and couldn’t imagine having anyone else as my doctor.

Dr. Peppy is the best! He is caring, personable and smart! I would never go to any other Doctor. I left town for a few years but just made an appointment and look forward to it!!!

I was referred to Dr. Peppy by a few of my friends, and I switched over to him from my previous OB when my husband and I decided to start trying to have a baby (just over 2 years ago). He was always great and explained everything thoroughly. He was extremely optimistic, as he should be considering I was 27 at the time with no health issues at all. 1 year went by and I wasn’t getting pregnant, so he started running tests. According to his nurses (who are another story that I will get into), my hormone levels were just fine. He ran an HSG test, and he said everything was great then too. About 5 months before the HSG, I got pregnant and miscarried very early. When I called his office to ask them if I need to do anything (keep in mind I was VERY upset because I had just miscarried that day and was heartbroken), the first thing his nurse said to me was «you weren’t pregnant.» I couldn’t believe it. How on EARTH could someone in this field tell a woman who is clearly heartbroken that she wasn’t pregnant, without asking me ANY questions. That was strike 1. After the HSG, I got pregnant the following month, just as he predicted would happen. Yay! So happy! Then I had another early miscarriage. When I went to his office to talk about our next options since clearly we were having issues, I flat out asked him if he could refer me to a specialist. He said NO! What??? His words: «well, you ARE getting pregnant, so a specialist wouldn’t be able to help you.» In what world is that true? Strike 2. But I took his word for it when he said that the more miscarriages you have, the less likely you are to have them again. I still had (some) faith left in him and his crazy optimism (again.I’m young, very healthy, etc… I shouldn’t be having these issues). He told me «next time you get pregnant, email me.» I was happy that he gave me his email address and took that as something very kind of him to do. He said next time I get pregnant, he wants me to email me him away so that I can come in that day or the next to have blood work done. The point of doing this was to make sure that my body really was producing the right hormones and that I was, in fact, pregnant. Enter late December, I find out I’m pregnant again. I emailed him right away (over a weekend), and he emailed me back and included 2 of his nurses in the email. He asked them to schedule me for that Monday or Tuesday. I called first thing Monday morning, and as always, the receptionist didn’t give me the time of day. The receptionists there are TERRIBLE. Absolutely awful and cold-​hearted. I am always pleasant and try my hardest to explain my situations calmly, knowing that if I don’t talk fast enough they’re going to transfer me without even letting me finish. So I call, and it’s like walking on eggshells with them. I got nervous that if I don’t explain myself the «right» way, I’m going to lose my chance to get in that day or the next. As always, they transferred me before I could get 5 words in. My husband ended up talking with the nurse because just having to call Dr. Peppy’s office makes me incredibly stressed, which of course is something I was trying to avoid so as not to stress my body out with this baby. Even though my husband explained very clearly that Dr. Peppy WANTED us to come in, that he EMAILED the nurses asking for us to come in, they still wouldn’t do it. They said they had openings, but only for emergencies. While I understand this wasn’t an emergency, it also wasn’t a typical appointment. The most they would do was schedule me for a 7 week ultrasound, which guess what??? That’s what they do with anyone who is newly pregnant. We explained that the reason he wants us in ASAP was to do blood work before anything bad happened, but nope. They absolutely did not care. So the 7 week appointment was made, and 3 days later I had another miscarriage. Strike 3.
I just honestly feel like I wasted 2 years of trying to get pregnant by going to Dr. Peppy. I loved him at first. I thought he was amazing, even though I disliked the nurses and receptionists from the get-​go. Other than Dr. Peppy, no one there gives you the time of day. The sad thing is, even my friends who have referred me to him agree that the staff is terrible. I started to realize that if Dr. Peppy is hanging on to women like this at his work place, it says a lot about him. He lost my business, and any business that I would have otherwise referred, because of all of this. Unfortunately, I have about 3 other instances that I could go on to explain about the staff there, but I think this is enough. I have my appointment tomorrow with a specialist that I sought after myself. «You are getting pregnant, so a specialist wouldn’t be able to help you» aka «keep coming to me so that I can make money off of all of the ultrasounds and procedures you’re going to do here since I clearly see there is an issue with you getting pregnant.»
With that, find another OB. You won’t regret it.

I went to Dr. Peppy’s office as a first time patient on Tuesday October 21^st seeking medical assistance for severe pelvic pain that radiated down my leg. They told me Dr. Peppy was not available and that I could only see the nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner did a pelvic exam and said she found nothing wrong, and even said I had no lumps on my ovary or cervix (I told the nurse I thought I had a cyst on my ovary). I said «Well then what has been causing me this horrible pain for a month, and why do I have pain radiating down my leg?» She said it «Must be something else» and sent me on my way without ordering tests or even directing me to seek further medical assistance. On Thursday October 23 the pain was so bad I had to stop in the middle of working to go to our on-​site nurse. The nurse at my workplace said that severe abdominal pain, especially for that long was not to be ignored and could be serious. She ordered testing and instructed me to go to th ER if the pain worsened. On Friday October 29 I checked into the ER in severe pain at about 3:30 am. They did a sonogram and other tests and told me it was 10 cm, THE SIZE OF A BASEBALL. Dr. Peppy did not come see me in the ER and told the doctors there to release me and «call to schedule an appt for surgery for removal». I called his office from the ER and asked to speak with Dr.Peppy. He was again not available, and his staff were rude passing me from one person to another on the phone without an appt and without showing concern for my condition. The doctor at the hospital told me I was at risk for it rupturing, which causes internal bleeding. I did not wish to leave the hospital with no appt for care and no surgery. Then his staff refused me medical care because I used two curse words, ass and damn. I was released from the hospital without a surgeon because his office staff refused me medical assistance. So easy not to care about me when I am a new patient, huh? This could be you next! Imagine being up all night in pain, poked and probed, not allowed to eat, drugged on morphine, told you have a cyst that was so huge it requires major surgery to remove, a cyst that THEIR office missed during a pelvic exam that was later determined to be the size of a GRAPEFRUIT! And I only used the swear words when his staff refused to admit that they overlooked the mass upon my recent visit. I went on to get a much better OB/​GYN to perform the surgery. I had surgery on Oct 29^th, the day after meeting and being examined by my new GYN. He got me into the hospital for surgery quickly because I was in danger of rupturing and going septic. Dr. Peppy’s office dumped me on a Friday, I could have ruptured over the weekend! My new surgeon/​OB/​GYN said that a PSYCHIATRIST could have found my cyst. I am skinny and you could even see it bulging out of my abdomen. My new doctor placed my hand on my belly so I could feel where it was. Even I could feel it once he showed me where to feel! I would not recommend Dr. Peppy and his staff to anyone. If your conditions are ignored your blood could turn septic and you could die. I was very close.

I have been a patient of Dr. Peppy for over 5 years now. I have recommended at least 5 other women to his practice. He is kind, caring and patient. Not one time has he smelled of smoke as indicated in another review — I was surprised to read that. His staff is kind though his head nurse is not sympathetic — the other two nurses are wonderful. Dr. Peppy guided me through two pregnancies, delivered my last boy via c-​section at Winnie Palmer, and helped me the through a serious bout of depression after my first child. My family loves him. I would totally recommend!
Also, in response to the other review, Dr. Peppy doesn’t schedule bloodwork (you would on your own as with any other doctor), he doesn’t schedule ultrasounds (though he recommends them when they need to be done) and you and your employer should expect a lot of pre-​natal visits as you would with any gyno/​ob.

I found Dr. Peppy through the nurses at an Orlando hospital. I asked them who they would go see if they were looking for an OBGYN, and they recommended him. I am so glad they did! Dr. Peppy is an incredible OBGYN. I have never had a problem in the past 2 years that I’ve seen him. I’ve had several OBGYNs who treated me horribly for one reason or another, and it was a relief to find Dr. Peppy. He is always kind and seems genuinely concerned for me, even if it’s about a health issue unrelated to his practice. He takes the time to sit down with me and answer questions, and I have never once felt rushed.
His office staff is always helpful when I need a birth control prescription or when I have any concerns. I’ve never had a problem!

So many people said great things about this Dr but I was very disappointed. Dr. Peppy looked like a nice guy but he smokes and was stinking like a ash tray when I met him!
I went there when I got pregnant and all they did was urine test and congratulate me! How about blood test and paper work???
Then they scheduled 3 weekly appointments: blood work, paper work and ultrasound. Why not all at once? WHO can miss work every week in the beginning of their pregnancy!!!
The ladies in the front were not very nice and I waited so long… over 1 hour to be seen… I AM NOT GOING BACK for sure!!!
