Terrible experience. The saying «you get what you pay for» is exactly true with this experience. We took our Toy Poodle to get neutered on Friday and on Monday we took him back as they did not properly diagnose the ear infection either. We waited 3 hours like animals in the waiting room, we were finally taken back and the vet tech told us that he couldn’t walk right because of anal glands. Any idiot would know the that after the neuter it had to be the stitches or pain in the surgery site. He then asked us what food we were feeding our dogs, I told him BilJac and he said that the high end foods cause kidney damage and to switch to cheap Purina or Iams would be safer. No consideration about the dangers of Chinese toxic ingredients.
We waited another hour and the vet never came in so we left. Last night at 11pm our dog started panting and shaking badly. We called the emergency number on the paper we were given and left a message which promises a call back. Nothing! Even the next day no call. This place is a total nightmare. We ended up taking our dog to our normal vet so that they could fix the garbage job and misdiagnosis on the ears. Sure enough the dog had an ear infection and needed treatment.
Yes we saves $ 100.00 neutering there, but never again. Its like a high volume no care clinic that treats its clients like garbage. Never again, learned my lesson.

This place doesn’t even deserve a star. I had brought my 4 year old dog here for the first time to get her annual shots and heart worm test. On that same day, my dog had a bad reaction to the shots, so I brought he back so they can take a look at her. Come to find out, they had given her the wrong dosage. Then I decided to get some heart worm pills since I’m there, and told me they need to get blood work done. But she had that done during her first visit. They tried to charge me again for the heart worm test. Thank goodness one of the tech that was there during my first dogs first visit was there. The tech noticed that the vet didn’t even note that the test was done! Well I guess you get what you pay for. Pay that extra $$ for you r furry babies safety and health.

My wife and I came here because we recently spent a lot of money for a dying cat and were short on cash for our normal vet.
On Saturday November 14 we brought our dog in who had high liver enzymes which were diagnosed by Pet Alliance 2 weeks prior. Since his condition was not improving we were told to drop the dog off for blood tests and X-​rays and another evaluation. I was told at 4pm to come pick up my dog.
Expecting to speak with a DR we get there and it is really packed. The nurse brings the dog back and tells us that the doctor will call us Sunday or Monday. This is inexcusable. I asked the vet tech about his blood test and if the enzymes were higher than last time. She did not know.
It is now almost three days since we brought in our dog. My wife called the Office and the vet tech was very rude.
Here I am 3 days later with a $ 400 Bill, a sick dog, and no response from the vet or staff. This is absolutely the worst service I have ever encountered.
Although I hate to do it bc they are a donation ran organization I am disputing the charge with my bank

The worst part of my visit was that the trash can my dog was sticking his nose in contained dozens of used needles. When he first did it I didn’t think anything of it. When I got up and saw it was full of needles, I was shocked. Please see the pictures I posted. It confirms the thoughts I have below regarding the mediocre management of this facility. I don’t understand why they would put used needles 2 feet off the ground and not have proper lids which stay closed. Shouldn’t something be mounted on the wall high enough away from curious pets?
This visit I made an appointment for my dogs annual exam. The first available appointment was in about 2 weeks at 4pm, and since my dog didn’t have any issues that was okay. I would have thought with an appointment my wait time wouldn’t have been so long as my last visit here. I also thought since it was later in the day that would be great. Around 20 minutes seems like a reasonable time to wait for an appointment and after that it gets frustrating because I’m constantly trying to calm my dog down since he’s in a room with 5 other dogs just a few feet away and can’t play with them. I didn’t expect to wait an hour and I feel that was not acceptable since I had an appointment at a time they chose. It was 4:51pm before they called me and I still had to wait in the office room. I spent 5 minutes with the tech before he had to leave to get my records. I was disappointed they weren’t prepared for my appointment. 5pm hit and I was back to waiting on the tech.
At 5:22pm after the tech left he closed the sliding door on the needle filled trash can.
It was not until 5:23pm the doctor arrived. I was back in the waiting room at 5:31pm waiting on the blood results. I only had 10 minutes with the doctor. She was great and more about her is below. I’m not saying the amount of time is too short, I’m trying to show that if I only need to be with the doctor 10 minutes, why does a visit need to take 2 hours? At this point I have been here for an hour and a half and my visit still isn’t over. At 5:45pm the tech came back to tell me everything was good. 5:56pm and my visit was over. 2 hours total for a yearly exam with an appointment did not meet my expectations.
Maybe cut off walk ins earlier or don’t take so many appointments. Seems like an easy way to dramatically improve the customer experience and satisfaction. Anyway, it’s frustrating when you don’t expect to wait and have an appointment. If you just come here when they open you probably won’t have to wait as long as an appointment made later in the day. They need to change something about their way of doing business.
Some of the employees were walking around like zombies which wasn’t reassuring. I had a vet for 5 years in Jacksonville that was awesome. He was very caring and treated animals with the compassion you would expect if they were humans. The wait times also didn’t exist which was an advantage of a traditional vet over this place.
My visit today wasn’t great which is a shame because Dr. Fusting was great. She was very friendly and seemed to love animals and her job. If she opened up her own practice, I will certainly be a customer. She talked to my dog and made him feel comfortable and was compassionate with her care. She also closed the trash can right away after throwing away a used needle, so I appreciated knowing leaving the kid open wasn’t common. They still should move its location to the counter or wall out of reach of animals. She would get 5 stars for sure.
I have visited here before and had my old vet send records, so I am not exactly sure what shots my dog needed. I just go every year to the vet and they usually tell me what is required and necessary. My experience would have been much better if the waits weren’t so terrible and if there wasn’t such easy access to a trash can full of used needles for my dog to stick his nose in.
The prices are reasonable and better than a vet, which is why I came back the second time after moving to Orlando. Now I have learned and know the value in having a good veterinary practice.

I just move here and received an email from my previous vet that my dog needed a distemper shot. I went to pet Alliance web sight. Advertised $ 22. When I got my bill it was $ 64. They performed an unneeded exam and then had the nerve to charge me $ 5 to dispose of the needle used for the shot. This place came highly recommended. Very disappointed

Place is horrible don’t take your babies here, staff is beyond rude. Not worth it for the price.

First of all, I’d like to say that I am rating this place 5 stars for what it IS — a discounted, nonprofit pet clinic. To compare it to a regular, full price vet’s office and expect the same amenities at a discounted rate is unreasonable. With that in mind, my dog, Levi, and I had a wonderful experience here yesterday.
Over a month ago I called and booked an appointment for my pup to get zeutered (non-​surgical sterilization). About two weeks after booking the appointment they called to inform me that they were no longer taking appointments and would be accepting walk-​ins only so my appointment was no longer valid. For the inconvenience, they were mailing me a $ 25 gift card to use on my next appointment. Of course I as bummed about the walk-​in thing but the gift card did take the sting out a little. Because of the type of procedure my pup was getting I asked if there was still a special day or time I needed to bring him in (before they only did zeuters on Sun & Tues). The employee I spoke with didn’t have the answer but promised to consult the doctor and call me right back, which she did! She explained since they have a limited supply of the serum they would not cancel my appointment after all (yay!).
When we got there yesterday (Sunday) it was a few minutes til 9 and there were already about 5 dogs in the waiting room. The waiting area is clean and doesn’t have that commercial disinfectant/​dog smell that some offices do. We checked in, filled out paperwork, and waited about 20min before being shown into an exam room. The vet tech, Maria, was GREAT. She asked good questions and had a nice rapport with Levi. Once we wrapped up with her it was only 15min before the doctor came in with a different vet tech. Dr. Welch was extremely attentive and took time to answer all my questions, even ones unrelated to the procedure. After taking a look at Levi they took him away for his procedure which only took 20min or so. When they brought him back he was quite woozy from the meds but otherwise fine. It’s been over 24hrs now since the procedure and there have been no lasting side effects or complications.
For me the pros of kind and knowledgeable staff as well as the affordable prices greatly out weigh the con of wait times. I will definitely be making this Levi’s regular vet for the future.

These people alway amaze me. They really do care about the animas that come in. They are very honest and look out for their best interest.
My first visit was 3 years ago with my 8 year old bulldog that almost died from a bladder uterus infection. But they quickly fixed that and she was better in no time. It cost about $ 400 but the other vets tried to charge $ 4,000! For the same procedure.
My lab recently had a ear hematoma that started small I thought it was going to go away and before i knew it it blew up, literally popped some how. And was leaking bloody liquid. So off we went and they did surgery. Found it to be infected and we have to go now every 2 – 3 days for a week until it stops filling with blood. There are slits so the liquid would come out and his whole ear looks like Frankenstein. It’s been 2 days and it is healing quiet well it just looks terrible. He is on a ton of medication but is doing really well. I read online that surgery cost between 400 – 800 and we paid $ 600. But when we went in because his cast came off they just cleaned him up and rewrapped his wound in less then 30 mins and off we go with no cost. The other visits they said they would rewrap him but it would just cost $ 15. Sounds good to me. Great service. Quick and efficient. And my little Snoopy is doing so much better. I will not go anywhere else for my pets needs.
Lesson learned here. A ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I should have taken him in when it was small and antibiotics would have cleared that up and less headaches, pain, and money.
Please don’t make that mistake when in doubt just get it checked out they are great.

I just adopted 2 cats from here and had a positive experience. Volunteers greeted me when I came in and they were friendly and helpful. I adopted 2 cats, they are brother and sister. They came fixed with all their shots. Adoption fees are reasonable. I recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for a pet.

Took my dog a couple days ago he had diarrhea and had been sick to his stomach for about 4 days starting with vomiting and sometimes he didn’t want to eat. His regular vet was closed so i drove an extra 20 min and came here. I couldn’t get thru over the phone to make an appointment so I walked in, right at the entrance they had a sign announcing that there was about 2 hour wait for walk ins. But it didn’t took that long before they call us in. The technician was very nice checking on my dog and asking many questions.
Dr. O’Malley walked in and even tho I don’t think she check the notes the man had written about my dog she asked her own questions and was very patience with my pup. She gave him a couple of prescriptions and told me about what she thought he had… 2 days later he seems to be getting better.
So I had nothing bad to say about this place. Just thank you

Cannot come up with one complaint about the Pet Slliance of Greater Orlando. I am thankful for all the events they put on for our pets, the sponsors, and the community. The following and the crowd they are able to gather is a true testament to how great the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando is to the pet community. From events such as Paws in the Park, Puptails on the patio (cannot leave out the thank you for the Aloft Downton Orlando for hosting), and many other events.

I adopted from Animal Services, but have been taking my dog to the Pet Alliance clinic. They are INCREDIBLE. Make sure to make a reservation far in advance; it does fill up and get busy quickly. Expect to be there for a few hours for a walk-in.However– the vet and staff are the nicest people both to me as a client and to my dog. They are very upfront about costs (very reasonable, compared to my experiences at traditional clinics), and seem to genuinely care for your pet.

I’ve been here MANY times and while there are certainly things that can be improved; I really don’t have any major complaints. The vets have always taken their time and explained any questions I have, the prices are reasonable, and the areas are clean. I’m sure there are other bells and whistles that other vets have that make them stand out. But for the price and services I don’t see a reason to complain. There’s always going to be areas of improvement, but for a county owned and ran establishment I say way to go.

I love this place. The volunteers and employees are great and the place is very clean.
We adopted our ragdoll cat here and she was perfect. You even get a free clinic visit when you buy a pet here.
The cat playrooms are my favorite!
Visit the site and visit every week if you are looking for a specific breed of dog or a smaller dog as they never last more than a few days. Sadly, like many shelters don’t be surprised to find a lot of pit bulls despite being loyal pets. You’re an awesome person if you adopt one!

STAY AWAY, do not bring your pet here for any reason whatsoever. I brought my puppy here to get neutered a month ago, thinking the SPCA was known for taking good care of animals and were cheaper than any vet, and this has been the worst experience of my puppys life.
He had never had any problems when we first adopted him (not from the spca), and after he got neutered, this is what happened…
First of all, he came home with fleas all over him, to the point where we were picking then off his body.
They tattooed him with a green line on his belly for some odd reason, they say to prove hes been neutered, but that was only after a week of calling and talking to numerous people who had no explanation for what the green mark was.
He developed a nasty hacking/​cough a couple days after we got him neutered, commonly referred to as kennel cough, and still has these symptoms a month later.
Not to mention, the receptionist ladies did not care what his name was, and got it wrong numerous times.
And to top it all off, every time i call this place, i am put on hold immediately, to the point where i have to hang up and call back because they forget about me.
I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone who has a pet, pay the extra money at a real vet and avoid all the problems associated with the SPCA.

I brought my girl here for her spay since it would cost me more than double at her regular vet. For $ 115 I was able to get her spayed, have her toenails clipped and ears cleaned, and get her microchipped. The place is BUSY and I give the staff credit for remaining friendly and professional despite some of the bitchy customers in there (one irate woman demanded a refund because it was taking too long — it’s a low cost clinic! Calm yourself!) They took good care of my girl and the kind dude carried her to my car. It’s always stressful leaving an animal with other people, especially for surgery but I need not have worried. They offer a variety of discounted services and if you join for a mere $ 30 you can get other discounts (but not on spay/​neuter as those services are always very well discounted). They also have awesome adoption clinics where you can get a new friend for a very reasonable price. The Orlando location is easy to locate, even if you have to make your way through that I4 traffic. Please, if you want a pet please consider adopting.

Ive adopted two pets from here and have had positive experiences both times. You can provide a home to a variety of dogs and cats from this location. They chip the animals so if they ever get lost and someone finds them they can trace them back to you. They also have a veterinary clinic that sells all the medications and heart guard necessary to make sure you have whatever you need to take care of your pet.

Best prices for dental cleaning when needing anesthesia. I don’t like putting my older dogs under to clean their teeth but I couldn’t find someone that would do it without putting them under and having teeth pulled. SPCA staff are knowledgeable, efficient and very busy. I was getting estimates of well over $ 450 per dog and I had to have two small dogs done. They don’t charge by their weight like all others. Their fee a couple years back was half the price so it was like getting 2 for the price of one. I had two appts, one for the lab work and one for the teeth cleaning. Fortunately I found a person who will do canine cleaning without anesthesia for about $ 120 per dog and no extra fee per tooth pulled at sparklingk9s in Altamonte Springs.
Nothing fancy here at the SPCA but if you want that you can pay 2 – 3 x more at other places.
With the high cost of pet care it wasn’t hard to decide to take a chance on taking my fur babies here as so many other do the same. It takes time to get an appt but it was what I could afford and I will go back to them if I don’t need to wait several days or a week to get an appt. They are open seven days a week which is very convenient but weekends are always booked if you don’t call ahead. When other pet hospitals are charging $ 49 just for the office visit, SPCA charges $ 30 with the opportunity to get 15% disc if you are a member, for a small donation of $ 30/​yr. Always great to help others who need the help.
If I need to take my dog into the vet within a day and can’t get an appt at the SPCA, I’ll go to a local vet and for follow ups I can make an appt with SPCA and tell them what the other vets do. Fees are so much less and it was easy to sign up to be an SPCA member knowing even if the dogs don’t need a vet, the standard membership fee helps other animals.

Just adopted a cat over the weekend and I have to give major points to this place.
Not only did the inexpensive adoption fee cover the shots, neutering and… well the fee itself, they also sent me home with a care bag full of cat toys, a small bag of cat food, and an organizer to bring to the vet on his first visit there. Bravo.
Everyone I’ve encountered there over the past week has been so extremely helpful and pleasant, and I know that the majority of them are volunteers so they move into saint status as far as I’m concerned.
The places I visited there were also well kept and clean. I would strongly urge someone to adopt a pet from here in lieu of going and buying one from a puppy/​kitten store. Go to the website, scan the available animals beforehand if you’re like me and suffer heartbreak when you go into the SPCA from not being able to take the entire place home. The adoption process is also on the website if you want to read through prior to your visit.

I just started volunteering here I think so much of it. They really do care for animals and try to find them good homes. I have 2 cats from this particular center and I’d adopt any other pet from them.
One little thing that I think is a common industry failure is the animals are in such close quarters that the animals do spread sicknesses. :(
Maybe one day with enough donations will allow them a better facility but for now they are doing a great service with what they have.
