Friendly, knowledgeable staff that really know their stuff about vacuums. Brought in my $ 500 vacuum for repair and they were able to diagnose it right away at no charge. A few small suggestions and I was on my way out the door with nothing charged. I also had a chance to speak with the owner of the location and he went out of his way to explain the differences between some of the technology built into vacuum cleaners and why you should go with an American company that stands behind their products, just like Southern Vacuum stands behind everything they sell. If you read some of the other reviews, the people have cheap vacuums and accuse the staff of trying to sell them a new vacuum. A vacuum is an investment. It should last you 10 years if you are getting the right type of vacuum. Buy one from Walmart, Home Depot, Target, or any big box stores and you are going to get production, cheaply made, vacuums with a lifespan of 1 year. The owner said he has been there for 60 years and you really don’t find honest, hard-working specialists like the folks at Southern. When it is time for me to retire my unit, I will be buy from Southern Vacuum.

I went there yesterday with a problem with my Dyson; the hose was losing suction. He tried to sell me a new vacuum by telling me that my Dyson blew dust everywhere because it was bagless(it doesn’t, I’ve had it 10 years, never had a problem); that it only works well on carpet(haven’t had carpet since shortly after I bought the vacuum, never had one that cleaned hard floors as well as this); and that it only has an intake on one side, which it does, but the suction is so powerful that doesn’t matter. He then told me it would be $ 117 to repair the vacuum. I took it and left. Lo and behold, go to use it today, the hose is fine! I think he cleared out a clog and then tried to rip me off by saying I needed an expensive repair. I won’t go back. I also told him I had no intentions of replacing my Dyson, and that I would never, ever, ever buy a vacuum that required bags ever again.

Great family owned business that truly cares about customer service. They fixed my broken vacuum fast and on the spot. Plus I got a free belt… Make sure to talk to Meghan she is awesome to work with. I will defiantly be telling my friends about this place.

I couldn’t have had a better experience. I brought my broken(or so I thought) vacuum to them to see about a repair. They took it in the back and came out with it working properly. It was only clogged thus preventing it from working properly. I will definitely be going back when i need a new vacuum!

Got ripped off. Was told the part for the canister vacuum cost $ 80 and takes 8 weeks to arrive. Bought a $ 300 upright on the spot. Took my broken one back home. My wife found the broken part on line for $ 15 and it was in my hand 3 days later. About an hour of my time to replace and the canister vacuum is up and running. This place is like a car garage that lies to you about what is wrong and then overcharges for a phantom repair. Beware.

Shopping the way it is meant to be done. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary. These guys are experts! You can try the machine out in the shop. They also do repairs, so they can tell which machines they have to fix the most. Let somebody other than a commercial tell you about vacuums. We bought our first vacuum from them in 2002. My wife vacuums 3 – 5 times a week. It was still working good 8 years later, but we wanted a newer, lighter, more powerful machine, and we were able to trade in our old one. You should check them out regardless of your budget. They have everything from used to top of the line vacuums that you will never see in Target.
