The Pointe at Central

This place doesn’t even deserve one star. The WORST place you could possibly live. Ghetto, shitty, dirty, out of date and annoying. Maintenance barges into my apartment ALL the time, the furniture in here is probably from 1890 and the Internet NEVER works. I hate this place so much and I can’t wait to leave.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! The price may be right with the utility cap and all that but the TERMS OF THE LEASE ARE INSANE! Read it all before you sign.
Say you have a visitor in your apartment and you have to go to work. Your visitor has to VACATE THE APARTMENT until you return! That is INSANE! Or you will be notified and fined if not «rectified» within 7 days. So residents, future residents, whatever– if you’re planning on being social and having guests, forget this place.

Here goes the worst ramble of my life…
My first college apartments ever. Let me tell you, I will NEVER refer anyone to this place.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not get hooked into this place from the model apartment. Honestly, the only positive that I can say about this complex is that it has taught me to never look at the model home and expect that in my own apartment.
I’ll write the good things before going into a rant about the rest…
The only good thing this apartment complex is good for is the billiard table and nice flat screen tv in the clubhouse. The clubhouse is the only thing they put effort into.
First off, when they take you on the tour everything seems pretty nice. It’s all meant to talk highly of the place. When they lead you right into the model home… it’s a place that has NEVER been touched by a student. It was set up years ago… and just gets shown to prospective people.
Upon getting my apartment…
1. The sign on my door that had my letter on it… had graffiti ALL over it.
2. Living on the third floor was a pain to climb up with groceries (but that may be just a personal problem)
3. The bathroom that my roommate and I shared NEVER worked. The toilet never refilled water. Literally, (no exaggerations) we’d have to wait over 20 minutes for the toilet water to refill. You couldn’t double flush (so don’t even think about taking a dump). And if someone wanted to use the bathroom after you, they’d be stuck in a situation where if they’d try to flush… they’d have to wait around in the bathroom for an awkward amount of time because the toilet didn’t flush.
4. My shower did not drain. I would take a shower at 9 am in the morning… came back home and the shower was still not drained by 3 pm.
Other Notes:
— The people on staff are completely clueless. I Told them about the toilet situation… guess what their solution was? The ONLY option they offered to me was using a toilet plunger. I called them 4 times about it… and they didn’t even bother to come after a the 2^nd time.
— If you think you’re safe because there is a guard gate… think again. I’ve had three friends who were robbed. People climbing over their balconies and knocking out their porch door.
By the way… The first floor of my apartment building burned because some kids were reckless and burned their entire apartment down. Needless to say, I was trying to sleepover at someone else’s house after being through all of this.
Sorry to everyone who read this long rant.

Absolutely the worst place I have ever lived. The management staff is clueless about what happens in their complex. They are rude on the phone and there is absolutely no communication between the employees making any issues you have with them almost completely impossible to resolve.
The buildings are dusty and the place is a complete ghetto.
There is no cap on the utilities which is nice, but other than that it’s over priced for what you get. Definitely think about living somewhere else.

Holy ghetto, this place really went downhill in the last couple of years. I lived in Pegasus Pointe for two years and it was quite the experience…
Pegasus Pointe’s apartments are UCF affiliated, so you have to be a student to live there. You can be a student of any of the local schools — Valencia or Full Sail included. They offer two and four bedroom apartments that are available with separate leases — so you don’t have to worry about your roomies bailing on you and leaving you with the rent. Your rent also includes cable (including HBO), local phone and high speed internet. It’s a pretty good deal for the 500 or so bucks that rent is.
The apartments are sparsely furnished — dining room table, bedroom furniture, and couch. You have to bring everything else. The bedrooms each lock from the inside, so you have your own apartment key and an additional key for your room. The rooms are TINY — barely enough room for the full-​size bed, dresser and desk that’s stuffed in there.
I had a rough experience living there. My first problem was the incessant noise that I had to deal with. In my last year living there, I was also working full time and often had to wake up at 6am. There was ALWAYS someone blasting loud and obnoxious music at all hours of the evening. You could call the office and have them go tell the people to turn it down… but usually it did absolutely nothing!
The buildings themselves are made of particle board or something. It honestly sounds like you are going to break through the floor if you jump up and down. I lived on the third floor, so I didn’t have to hear the people above me — but I can only imagine how annoying it would’ve been to be sandwiched in the middle floor.
Another problem was the safety of the Pegasus Pointe. When I first moved in, there were a few car thefts — radios, CDs, other things taken from cars. But towards the end there things got a little SCARY! One of my roomies forgot to lock our door one night and someone came into our apartment and robbed us. I was fortunate enough to have locked my bedroom door from the inside… but my other roommates did not and the perp actually came inside their rooms and took some pretty expensive things (including a laptop). After that, I pretty much never felt safe there again.
I’ve noticed that they have hiked up the security there significantly. Since they are UCF-​affiliated, the UCF police department usually has a couple of cops surveying the area.
I would say that if you have to go UCF-​affiliated, try the dorms. Honestly, they are cleaner and safer. If you want to live off campus, do a little research and find a place that is safer and better managed!
