Cates Lighting

Called Cates a few months ago, searching for outdoor utility lighting that is both motion-​activated AND dusk to dawn. Surprisingly hard to find.
Spoke with Barney; she did not know if they carried anything like that or not but said either Lindsey or Ben would call me back either that day (Friday) or Monday.
Never heard from them. Called them back a week later, during office hours early Friday afternoon, and left a voicemail.
Still no response. Made one more attempt, several days later, again during business hours, again got voice mail, again left a message and explained this was my 3^rd attempt.
Nothing. If they aren’t even willing to answer a question, forget it. Too bad, as I just recently bought a house and am looking to replace all of the outdoor fixtures. Looking elsewhere.

I first used Cates Lighting when it was on Nova road in there BIG store and ordered every light fixture and fan for my home when I was building it. The oridinal owners sold it and the name and one of the employee’s moved to the new MUCH smaller location on the peninsula. I recently needed to replace the outside post lights. I found the new location and talked to a familiar face to order the light. I miss the big showroom to be able to look at the size and look of the item but he used props to get me the idea of what I was dealing with. Ordered the lights and they came in within the month. It has been 3 years and they need repainting but still working and structuraly OK.

They have the best people in town, I love a good small business. They will get you anything you need and spend the time with you if you are receptive.
