Specialties

We have programs for all ages. For children we have Day Camp, Sports, Open Swim and Swim Lessons. For adults we have Aerobic Body Sculpt (ABS), Muscle Fit, Pilates, Tai Chi, Water Fitness, Yoga and Zumba. We also provide many community events for families.

History

Established in 1914.

Oroville has a colorful history as a gold mining town. In 1914, Mr. Edward Ehmann and others desired to improve the quality of life for children and adults through the YMCA. They served as the first Board of Directors and together they raised $ 9,000 to fund the position of General Secretary, today called an Executive Director, for three years.

Over the years, as the needs of the community changed, the efforts of the YMCA developed many clubs to promote service-​learning components. Camping continues to thrive drawing many youth to the Y. Today, Oroville YMCA is the only Y in Butte County. We serve all ages and faiths to build spirit, mind and body.

We are celebrating our 100^th year advancing our mission to strengthen the foundations of community by providing programs that improve quality of life, provide a foundation for healthy living, build relationships with others, demonstrate positive values, and preserve important services/​activities in the community.
