She recommends preventative health and wellness options for dry eye and macular degeneration, fits contact lenses and can provide you with spectacle prescription options to answer any eye care needs you may have-​including distance, near, computer or multifocal prescription options. She has a specialized screen with pictures and animations which will help your children enjoy their eye exam experience! History

Established in 2008.

Dr. Bhend decided to become an eye doctor because of her experience after getting her first pair of glasses – No more headaches and who knew the leaves on trees looked like that! She attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she graduated Cum Laude in 2008. She also received her MS in Vision Science from The Ohio State Graduate School in 2008. She worked in a highly medical private practice in Iowa for the past few years where she learned the importance of preventative health and wellness options for long-​term eye health. With this in mind she pursued health coaching certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and incorporates this additional expertise within her eye care practice. She has recently relocated her family to Saint Michael where she is enjoying operating her own Primary care practice within Target Optical!

Business Owner

Kristy and her husband James enjoy operating and managing their practice together. This allows James to work from home and take care of their new baby boy Carter James and be home for their 2^nd grader Gabby when she gets off the bus! It’s not uncommon to see the whole family at the practice, in fact Gabby loves helping out in any way she can. Just ask the Target Optical staff!

James and Kristy grew up on farms in South-​Eastern MN and met in 4-​H and FFA activities. They still enjoy getting outside and riding their horses as well sharing their household with their two brittany spaniels-​Buddy and Trinity!
