As we walked into this store it was bright and quiet. The cashier was busy checking someone out. We took our cart and we were off on a diaper mission! My sister says they run the cheapest ad sales on diapers! I will take her word on this! As we were heading on our mission, I saw everything you’ll ever need to raise a baby! Lol. They sell everything from diapers, baby clothes, furniture, strollers, car seats, and much more! Funny thing, we were snooping around looking at other things after we found our diapers… we did not see one soul! No other customers or employees!!! Ghost store!!! We were looking at furniture but no one to answer any questions. I haven’t shopped for baby furniture in a while. Seems like prices went up and quality went down. We decided to just pay for our stuff and leave. Our cashier was very nice. She looked a little overwhelmed, but I don’t blame her. She probably has a checklist to do and no one there to help!

So, I was waiting in line at the customer service desk to return an item. Bought a boy baby a girl outfit before knowing what it was. Anyway, there were two clerks working the service desk. The customers ahead of me were taking FOREVER! One of them was checking out and buying I don’t know, 100 or more items?! Go to a clerk, not the customer service desk. ugh. Then, the cashier in the lanes kept calling me over saying she could help me as the line piled up behind me. I finally said ok and went over there where she said«oh sorry I didn’t know you had a return, you have to go to the service desk»… no words. I think you see where I am going with this. Don’t make me wait 45 minutes behind one person to return one item. When I have a baby someday, I’m sending my husband to do an shopping we need done at this store.

After going to Buy Buy Baby, coming to Babies R Us is a treat. I feel that it is cleaner, better laid out, brighter, and just a more pleasant experience. The people, too, seem a bit more friendly. That’s not to say they’re amazing by any means, but they are friendly and helpful in a way that they weren’t at Buy Buy Baby. My wife was really doing the shopping here, as she is the expert on kids(works with infants and toddlers). She says that prices here are a bit higher than Buy Buy Baby, but that they also seem to have nicer stuff. So, perhaps you get what you pay for.

I have to admit, as someone who’s not yet a parent, that this place over whelms me. It’s huge and has probably everything you’d need. Even the big items like furniture, strollers and mattresses. Although this place seems to have it all, their prices are a bit high. However they do seem to regularly have sales, at least on clothes, so check those racks to save as much as 50%. I recommend signing up for their card so you’ll get coupons. You can register there for gifts. You can even do it all online, register, update the registry and search a registry. If you need baby anything, this is the place to go. Maybe not the cheapest, but it certainly has a large variety and is worth checking out.

Babies R Us is a fine place to find«everything» you«need» for your baby, but the prices, quality and selection are nothing to rave about. If you want to shop for a lot of stuff in one place, the convenience of Babies R Us’s size might be worth it, but it is certainly not my first choice of shopping options. The furniture section expresses the one word synopsis of cheap. Sadly, this description need not apply to the price of the baby furniture. Much of the cribs look quite cheap while sporting a hefty price tag. The most infuriating object on my list was the changing table. For some unknown reason, manufacturers are making most changing tables as dressers with drawers(despite the obvious reality that fumbling around with drawers while trying to manage a squirmy – and surprisingly slippery – baby is an unnecessary inconvenience when the models with simple shelves are the more user friendly choice); however, the very few changing tables with shelves that are available are all quite cheap looking. Many of the changing tables and cribs shake frightfully if pushed upon(which is more than a little scary). The stroller section is well up to par with an adequate selection and the ability for buyers to look at floor models and move them about a bit. The information labels are insufficient with what data is supplied, so it is necessary to look online at individual specs before making a choice, which is less than convenient. For parents expecting twins, for example, it is difficult(if not impossible) to tell from the labels which double strollers can accommodate two car seats versus those that are meant only as a double stroller for one baby and one toddler. The clothing section is a mess. Do not expect the insufficiently trained staff to help you find anything(if you can find anyone). The prices are actually not bad as far as some of the basic baby clothes and maternity clothes items, but the experience of looking through the pawed over racks of disorganized garments in enervating. The staff is terrible. It is unlikely that you will receive help on the floor, but if you are able to find someone who appears to work here, chances are this employee will tell you that he or she is unable for one reason or another. Some of them have been found to be downright rude. The cashier staff is equally unhelpful. They will ask you about having a rewards card, but they are unforthcoming about the services offered or information. When we agreed to sign up for the card, the exchange was treated as an inconvenience to the cashier, despite the fact that there was no one behind us in line. The staff is clearly given a minimum of customer service training, and service is geared at getting people in and out of the door with greatest efficiency(if those customers enjoy their visit or actually succeed in making a purchase does not seem to be a priority). The registry option allows customers to walk around the store with a scan gun to create a list from which others can purchase baby items. The kiosk from which the list can be printed is convenient, but that is where the ease of purchasing from the list begins and ends. Only some of the listed items display the correct aisle numbers. The names of the items are not intuitive, nor are they easy to find(assuming the items are still in stock a week or two later when people come by to make the purchased). Do not bother registering for baby clothes; the unpleasant sales woman with whom we dealt only told us that sometimes those items get moved to clearance and then there is no finding them(she even laughed when we asked where the clearance rack was and said, «they’re all over.» Not helpful). Finally, I can not ignore the unpleasant reality of the women’s restroom which smelled strongly of urine and was horribly unclean.

I always seem to have a frustrating time at Babies R Us. It seems there are only a couple people who work there who know where things are located. Each time I go, I vow not to go back. This time I plan to keep that vow! I’d rather pay a little more money at a local place where the employees know their products or will at least make an honest effort to find it!

I’m not going to blow this place out of proportion because of its obvious ability to cater to a specific need; baby junk! Yes, they have everything imaginable for your offspring, and then some. Price-wise, Babies R Us isn’t very competitive with other places. Of course, to «save» money at their store I became a Rewards member. It was great at first when I was purchasing high dollar items; crib, breast-pump, mattress, etc. Now it’s kind of worthless. I still get a 20% coupon every month, but there are a lot of restrictions on its use. You can’t use it on diapers! Say, huh?! I needed some infant Tylenol one time, and was shocked to find that Babies R Us didn’t carry it. This place is alright. I’d rather bargain hunt online, especially since it’s hard to get out and about with an infant.

Baby– about 8 lbs at birth. Babies R Us– about 20,000 square feet of stuff for the 8 lb human. Before I became a parent I marveled at the amount of products that are sold for the smallest of humans. I mean really, how does a tiny little thing that happily existed inside of mamas belly suddenly need an SUVs worth of plastic products? When I became pregnant everyone told me that I would need all of this stuff. We were living overseas for the first few months of little man’s life so we were able to resist the consumerism knowing we would be be moving all of our belongings as checked luggage. Well, the kiddo is a few months old and we are back in the US and all happily living without the masses of «necessary» baby things. I am here to tell you, babies don’t need fancy $ 800 cribs and decorative blankets(that you can’t use anyway because of SIDS) or warmers for their diaper wipes. I mean really, do you need warmed toilet paper? Babies R Us is great at marketing to the parent-to-be, new parent, and new grandparent/family member, hitting on the emotion that convinces us that if junior doesn’t have the latest and greatest 10 inch color high definition video crib monitor we don’t love him/her enough. Like all other big box retail, the stores are designed without windows or clocks and are quite large, which can be confusing to your senses and might lead you to purchase more than you otherwise would. Having said that, Babies R Us does have lots of things that your kiddo does need, like diapers, clothes, a stroller, bottles, a bouncy chair(optional but reccomended), and I would much rather have people shopping here than at the evil Wal-Mart empire. But don’t get too excited and remember to save your $ for the college fund, or at least until they are a little older and can actually appreciate the decorative blanket. Babies R Us also has a nice registery program, particularly convenient for folks with family and friends that are spread out across the country. They also have some classes for parents-to-be and are good at promoting safety and recalls. This particular store has a nice staff and is pretty clean, organized, and well stocked. My advice to new parents– relax. Honestly having a kiddo isn’t really that big of a deal, something like 10 billion others have done it before you and people with far fewer economic resources are doing it as I write this. Plus, you can always return to Babies R Us and get it later if you really do find that you need that $ 8 pacifier case.
