Enticing variety of chocolates, baked items and gelato. I had iced coffee and almond tart. Both delicious. The service was pleasant and agreeable, even when I asked numerous questions about the coffee or the presence of citrus in the tart. The courtesy even extended to the two groups who allowed their children to scream and jump on the seating. Love chocolate. Love iced coffee. I’ll be back. Just hope the screaming jumpers aren’t there. The place is too small for thAt. Parents, why do you think it’s okay?

After a light dinner at the nearby Paradise Diner I wandered into Cocoa Dolce for coffee and dessert. The place is attractive(as are all the other new places in the Prairiefire development), laid out in typical café style. The café features numerous types of hot chocolate as well as coffees, and baked goods and gelatos as well as the chocolate candies which seem to be the trademark item! I had a piece of the almond tart and a latte, both very good, I thought. The almond tart is small, rich and not excessively sweet. The latte was well made. I’ll have to come back to sample some of their other goodies, especially the chocolates. They’re small, decorated pralines resembling those made by our renowned local chocolatier Christopher Elbow. They come in a pretty broad variety of flavors, including selections flavored with wines as well as others with liqueur centers. Since I have a real weakness for liqueur-filled chocolates, I’ll certainly have to return to check those out! Service was friendly and efficient. This seems to be a nice addition to our choices here in Outer Suburbia. You can’t have too many good places for coffee and cake or other sweets, as far as I’m concerned, so I’m glad to see Cocoa Dolce’s new place in Prairiefire.

Great location and delicious strawberry gelato. The chocolates are overpriced and not as good compared to other artisan chocolatiers in Kansas City, so they’re not what brings me back. It’s a great place to sit and hang out for a bit while savoring that gelato after a day of shopping or date night in the area. I can’t give this place a full five or even four stars because the main thing this place offers is subpar, but I would still recommend it as a great place for an icy treat.

Outstanding and unusual – if you are a chocolate connoisseur, you have probably been here already. Great chocolate and wine pairings, the very best cocoa you will ever have, and a truly great collection of macarons which they will ship for you. Really amazing quality and selection!

The ladies working there were very nice, nice atmosphere BUT… I’ve tried many of their chocolates over time with my visits to the Prairiefire area, and they just aren’t that good. I kept giving the benefit of the doubt and tried different flavors every time I went, because everyone has different taste preferences, but I still never found anything I liked much. But what sent me over the edge to just flat out disliking this place was I got a white chocolate mocha after a movie last night to warm up on a chilly and windy night while walking to our car. Do you guys clean your machines? Or use spoiled syrups? That mocha was the worst I’ve ever had, it tasted awful like it was spoiled or molded. After the worst date night experience at Cinetopia prior to visiting your store, I was hoping that this would help my mood bounce back up to it’s normal happy place like tasty hot beverages on a chilly night should. I couldn’t make myself drink it, it got poured down the drain when I got home. I’ll stick with my Starbuck’s.

I am teetering between 2 stars and 3 for Cocoa Dolce. The store itself is nicely laid out and inviting and the staff are very pleasant, but the chocolates we tried were simply ok, and barely so. For instance, I tried a bacon caramel chocolate and there was zero bacon flavor and the caramel was so hard I was afraid I might break a tooth. I had a coconut cream chocolate that was not creamy in the slightest. It was very hard and filled with plain coconut and almond pieces. Truly, I have had much better chocolate from Trader Joe’s for significantly less. And Christopher Elbow chocolates are FAR superior to Cocoa Dolce’s chocolates and are actually slightly less expensive. Also, Christopher Elbow is local and Cocoa Dolce is based out of Wichita, so when it comes to fancy schmancy expensive chocolates, I’ll probably just stick to Christopher Elbow. We didn’t try the gelato or the coffees, so if those are indeed amazingly fabulous then good for them. But this is a chocolatier and I expect more sinful goodness from their chocolates.

SO. MUCH. YUMMMYCHOCOLATE!!! Ok, so since I’m Elite, I better provide a better review than OMG, awesome truffles and chocolates. I’ll preface this with the fact that I’m very picky about my chocolates, and every day I miss my chocolatier back in Southern California. But, I think I’ve found my local place!!! My friends and I came in here while we were waiting for Wasabi Sushi to open, and honestly — this was the better experience! You walk in and see their shelves of boxed chocolates, chocolate bars, etc… but the crowning glory of this place is their truffle display. Wow, talk about an amazing selection, full of eclectic flavors, traditional flavors, and of course, alcoholic flavors. Additionally, they had a spread of samples of their truffles — whole pieces of deliciousness. I commend their service, and I feel like I dragged the poor girl up and down the display selecting the truffles I wanted for my box of 18; the noticed the french macaroons. Simply amazing! I’ll have to come back to sit down and try their drinks and enjoy their chocolates. It looks like an amazingly comfortable place to sit down and catch up wth friends.

Really good quality chocolates! I had a salted caramel mocha and some macaroons and they were delicious. I can’t wait to go back.
