Some of that best garlic naan I’ve had! Hard to believe coming from this small restaurant in strip mall, but go try for yourself! Got the spicy Lamb Vindaloo which was delicious and a Mango Lassi for relief from the heat. Will be back for sure!

Found this place after a long time of wondering what to eat. Relatively new to Indian food and was quite impressed. Had to wait a little while, but it was worth it. There’s plenty of rice with a curry and they hand make their naan which is fluffy and a good compliment to the amount of sauce is served. I had the lamb curry which was tender, flavorful and there was plenty of meat proportioned out. Would have been 5 stars, except the curry still had bones in it. So watch yourself. Owner was pleasant, willing to educate those new to Indian on the different dishes served. Even has an iPad with images of the food on what it looks like. They have a lot of different neat things served. Will be back again!

Service is excellent and the food was so good. Chai tea was classic and authentic, not too sweet. Great price, too. We tried the lunch sampler and got chicken and lamb. The chicken was tender and juicy and it came with homemade naan. My girlfriend got goat, which was«succulent» :D

First time ever visiting this shop and it was great! The staff was amazing and the food was both greatly priced(especially for the large portions given) and great tasting. I got the Lunch Platter with Spicy Lamb Korma & Spicy Butter Chicken. Would definitely recommend it especially if you’ve never had Indian food before and definitely want the experience.

Lunch(vegetarian thali) was mostly good, I got mine to go consisting of rice, a tiny, tasteless salad(why bother?), Vegetable Korma, Aloo Gobi and naan. I asked for spicy and was pleasantly surprised that it was indeed quite spicy. The aloo was pretty tasty, especially with the naan. The korma had a rather weird burnt taste, like maybe the spices got a little too toasted, I ate some, most I threw away. There was plenty of food for two meals, so in that respect $ 14 was not too bad($ 10 for lunch, 20% tip). I might go back some day and try other dishes, or also try other Indian restaurants in the area.

I have a new favorite restaurant! Amazing food, generous portions, and friendly service more than make up for simple décor. It’s a little place with a dozen tables tucked away in a strip mall. Go anyway! Chicken 65 was spiced perfectly(we asked for hot and they delivered) and served with a mound of rice. Husband had to ask for a to go box! That was a first! I tried a combo plate with butter chicken and lamb curry which was served with rice and naan. I make naan from scratch at home and am rarely impressed but I was. Yum! My mango lassi was in a big glass and was the perfect accompaniment.

Updated review– I’m a sucker for the vegetarian platter. Also love the porcelain platter itself. Have recently gotten some Biryani catered from them a couple of times– consistently tasty food with generous quantities.

This place is super delicious! Food: this is my second time here and the food is amazing. The curry is freshly made and the rice is nicely cooked. I got the chicken masala and it was thick and perfectly creamy. The food portions are quite large and the naan was soft and perfect combination with the curry. Service: it felt like it was family owned and the service was good. We order right away and the food came out rather quickly. Environment: this place is in a great location and the restaurant is quite clean and well organized. Overall: this is a great place to try different type of curry and be satisfy with you tummy and wallet!

Ordered many items today. But none of them are atleast ok. Especially chicken 65 and chicken biriyani suckks. The same was brought to the notice of manager and he was rudest and idiotic person on this planet. FoulSpell.equals(Manager)== true.

Bright & sunny café décor, and the food is good. My butter chicken was quite delicious, actually, and the naan was pillowy and tender. Price is right in line with other lunch-stop restaurants in the area… about the same as fast food, but you get to eat your lunch with a real fork.(I don’t like the mod compartmentalized trays, though, they’re just unwieldy.) What really sets them apart is the service — fast & friendly — and, when I dropped my silverware(because you CAN’T LAYITONTHEEDGEOFTHETRAY) there was a smiling person standing there, handing me a new set of silverware, before I even thought about getting up to get another fork. So, klutzes like me are a bit challenged, but otherwise a great lunch place.

Very friendly service, and I hate to be the detractor, but was not impressed at all with the food compared to other options in KC. Price was definitely better than other Indian restaurants al la carte menus. Portions were good, but the food itself was so-so. Naan was like thin crust pizza and burnt. Perhaps good for a quick lunch stop. Will give it another shot to be fair.

I have enjoyed this place 6 times since discovering it and have never been disappointed. I always go with the 2 choice platter for the variety. The goat and lamb dishes are all amazing and tender. I can’t go without ordering the beef samosas. the are a nice size, perfect outside, and flavorful inside. The owner and employees are always friendly and patient and they attend to your every need and question. They really are committed to making sure you have a positive experience.

I was in Kc for a day trip and since we don’t have a Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s on Springfield(tragic I know) I quickly Unilocaled to find a close local place to check out. Oh Unilocal Gods you did not disappoint. The servings were a generous but not greedy amount, the naan was soft and yummy, and the paneer Masala was perfectly balanced. I enjoyed watching MTV India while devouring my food. Will definitely go back again!

This review is based on my first experience and since I know I will be going back we will see if it changes. I ordered carry out over the web, it was in the counter waiting for me as I walked in. I ordered Curry Goat with Medium Spice and Nan. It was reasonable priced and you got a good portion of food. I took back to work, it stated nice and warm and tasted great. The medium spice was just right, touch of heat but kept the favors crisp. My only warning as it was a new experience for me was that there are a lot of bones in the Curry Goat so you should plate it and separate as you eat. Still it was worth the effort and it was brilliant. I will eat there again and try something different. I would recommend it for sure.

The naan is possibly the best I’ve ever had– soft like a pillow on the inside, crispy with a wonderfully subtle charcoal taste on the outside. The butter chicken is outstanding, the lamb curry is delicious, and the goat korma is very good. The owner is very friendly. I was the only whitey in the joint– always a good sign! Another thing I love– they play real Indian music. No American crowd pleasers here. Keep keepin’ it real, Spice N Rice! Update: when I returned, the news was showing on two giant TVs. Not the most zen atmosphere, but still deserves five stars for the food and the service.

Inexpensive great food. The best Indian food here in Overland Park. Had almost everything they offer and love every one of them.

The ambiance is that of an urban café. You order in the back and they give you a number to place on your table. We went for an early weekday lunch, and the service was excellent. The cashier recommended the«special», which is two selections with rice and naan. I had the chicken tikka masala and the chicken biryani. I was able to select the level of spicy, which was great. Most places I frequent for Indian cuisine are buffet style, so you get whatever the chef makes that day. The chicken tikka masala was delicious, as was the chicken biryani. HOWEVER, the chicken in the biryani was bone-in, which I didn’t care for. The dish itself was delicious. I’m just not a fan of bone-in chicken in rice. If they went with a boneless chicken in the rice, it would be probably the best biryani around. The naan was made fresh, which was really good, but something to pay attention to. If you are in a hurry at lunch, this may not be the best option, because it took a while to get our meal. As long as you understand that, you should be good. Overall, the food was delicious. However, for the price, you can get similar quality food at Korma Sutra buffet style, which would allow you to have any number of different dishes for the same price. However, if you’re close by or looking for take-out, this is a great option.

One of the best places for fast casual Indian food in Kansas City The biryani is outstanding I have the egg one and it literally was one of the best I’ve had. Is it casual place so you order in front and they serve it in your seat you can pay a small tip if you want to. I really think that the quality and quantity of food is excellent.

I was driving through KCMO en route to the airport and had a pre-departure hankering for some Indian food. I Unilocaled to find this location and ordered ahead for pick up. Overall, it was okay. Definitely not a stand out. I thought my paneer masala was way, way too soupy. Eventually, the rice somewhat absorbed the soupiness, but I prefer my rice and my masala to be less watery. The flavor itself was okay, but again, not a stand out. The man that took my payment was really friendly and the atmosphere while I waited to pick up my food seemed pretty cool too. There was fun Bollywood on the TVs.

Well. they say the best thing next to food is talking about it… and the food at this small joint snuck behind the cheesecake is worth the talk… Do away with creepy drapes, old paintings and Indian/Arabic music playing in background and replace it simplistic décor, quick service and some awesome indian food and this is what this new place is all about… We ordered chicken boti wrap, butter chicken and chicken biryani… the wrap was a naan wrapped around succulent pieces of chicken combined with raita and some cucumber salad… the taste of butter chicken was at par with kormasutra and was served with a naan. but the best part was the biryani … authentic and mind blowing. .it reminded me of my old days digging into Mumbai biryani houses… .the chicken was soft n tender and dropped off the bone! And all this for under 25 $…well I hope they keep up their standards… and keep our taste buds rolling…
