Villas at Carrington Square

These are regular apartments that have a luxury name and that’s all that there is to it. The management is extremely nice when you come tour and sign the lease. After that it’s all downhill. The management follow up is extremely poor. Previous management used to send out weekly emails with updates, call on follow ups after repairs or questions. The new management is pathetic. The place is over priced. I am so glad that there are close to 1000 new apartments coming within 1 — 3 miles of this location. More to chose from. Appliances are cheap. No granite tops for the price you pay. Bathrooms are cheap designs. Too many rules. Contract renewal is like dealing with a car sales person. They do not keep to their word. Bottom line here is they will get you in but they do not care to keep you. There are so many families that are staying here that will leave as soon as their contracts are up only because if the way management treat tenants. BV ISD was the only reason we came to this location. Now that many more apartments have opened up we will be leaving. We have been tenants for 15 months. Hated the last few months due to management change. Good luck to any new tenants. I was going to review on apartment
and other websites but those websites only allow reviews that management sends them emails off. How convenient.

I lived at Carrington Square for almost 3 years and dreaded every day of it. The grounds are nice yes, highway access is fantastic but the management is a NIGHTMARE. They were so controlling over the littlest things for example you could not hang your pool towl over your deck, you could not keep your garage door open, you could put a flower pot on your front porch. They treat tenats as children and send newletters repeating their long list of childish rules monthy. They call this place luxury apartment homes but it is the farthest thing from homey. The head manager Roxanne walks around «walking her dog» stocking people making sure they are following all of her bizarre rules. The management when I moved in was very accomodating but as Roxanne became manager the whole complex dreaded her. I would never reccomend The Villas of Carrington Square to anyone!!!

To begin with, be careful when you sign the lease at this complex. They added three days onto my 13-​month lease without verbally indicating that to me. When I questioned it upon vacating, there was some explanation that had to do with their accounting system. And then they said it’s only this amount, indicating that it wasn’t that much money. However, this is money that you end up paying them — for absolutely nothing. Beware of this! Also, they don’t include a month’s deposit upon move-​in, so this draws people in, but they do charge you a $ 100 pet deposit and a $ 500 pet fee on top of that. Upon vacating, they had three people do the walkthrough. One of the maintenance people came in and started ordering the cleaning crew that I had hired to clean the washing machine basket and underneath the stove top. The one maintenance person had his head down searching for any possible stain on the carpet even though there is always normal wear and tear. The assistant manager kneeled down while opening the cabinet doors below the kitchen sink and pointed out a spot the size of a dime. Since I have vacated, they are now demanding over $ 1100 to replace the carpet in the entire unit. My one pet did cause some damage, but it was very limited and not throughout the apartment. They are saying that they couldn’t match the carpet and therefore, couldn’t do partial replacements, but yet, they replaced the carpet with a totally different color of carpet. They turned this claim in to their collection agency even though I had disputed it through my attorney. The collection agency then turned the disputed debt into the credit bureau. An important point to note is that they didn’t follow due process by filing a petition in limited actions for settling landlord/​tenant disputes. Instead, they put a mark against my credit for a «disputed» assumed debt. Also, when I lived there, I was subjected to tenants below me that were not mindful of their neighbors. They had two children that would scream and yell every day and used the outside area of the apartment as a playground — even though there was a separate play area for the children at the complex. They would slam doors so loudly that the whole living room area would shake violently and items on the tables would rattle. They would also pound the walls. The units were poorly constructed and there was little or no soundproofing. I made two valid, verbal complaints about the tenants’ excessive noise. In turn, these tenants started to retaliate against me — collaborating with the leasing manager and the staff there. The police were involved in one incident and a report was filed against the tenants for noise disturbance. Then, these tenants asked the leasing manager to write a false complaint against me, because they wanted me out of there. The leasing manager willingly wrote a false complaint against me accusing me of videotaping the children below me and demanded that I «return» the nonexistent videotape within 48 hours. I called the police and they indicated that the complaint was a «harassment letter» and that the leasing manager shouldn’t be involved in a civil matter. I asked for the complaint to be retracted and the leasing manager refused and hung up the phone on me. I have now turned this business into the Better Business Bureau for their unreasonable demand of over $ 1100 to replace the carpet. As a result, the leasing manager and the staff have provided the BBB with inaccurate and contradictory statements. Once again, I can’t emphasis enough to beware of this complex. This was absolutely the worst place that I have ever lived. I had to live for over a year above extremely noisy and loud tenants that the leasing manager collaborated with and supported. It was truly unbearable. On top of all of this, I encourage you to google the leasing manager’s name to see how she handles her personal life as she does business.
