It’s amazing this place is still pretty busy when the level of service is so terrible. Went today for a late breakfast. Waited 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged and than had to ask for the counter to be wiped down. We ordered our drinks and food and had to ask the waitress a few minutes later if we could get our drinks since she never brought them. And heaven forbid you ever get a refill, it’s like pulling teeth. We both ordered the All stars which came out pretty quick except for the waffle. We sat and watched the girl making the waffles make them and stacked them to the side to wait and get cold. I thought the waffles were made to order? Guess not anymore. As we were trying to catch the waitress to ask for our waffles we watched a waitress walk over and place her whole, non gloved, hand on each waffle to see if it was warm. Finally was were able to ask for our waffles and mentioned to her to grab the only 2 the lady did not touch. The waffles were ice cold and had probably been sitting there for awhile. We just moved back from Alabama where the waffle houses and more prevalent than McDonald’s. This Waffle House here in KC needs to take some notes from those in Alabama as we never had an issue. I will be surprised if I ever step foot in this establishment again.

Had a good experience and exceeded my expectations. Came in with 4 kids and 4 adults. The staff took great care of us and food was delivered quickly and accurately. Not typically a place we go for breakfast, but was impressed enough to come back in the future.

I «needed» hashbrowns. I did NOT need a wait staff that didn’t listen to my special request, nor did I need a cook that spent more time yelling about his«baby mama» than he did on my simple cheese hashbrowns. I realize this is never going to be perfect because it is WH, but it’s never been this bad.

Food 5 stars. Waitress was weird and kept singing. Then she brought half my moms food on my plate and said«you’ll have to switch…» Ummmm okay…

I realize it’s Waffle House. It’s not going to be a 5 star dining experience. However when we dined there a few weeks ago we had probably the weirdest waitress I’ve ever had. I legitimately think she had mental problems. We came in around 11 pm with a few people and told her we’d probably have more joining us, and she seriously looked annoyed. I asked her, «is that going to be a problem?» And she shrugged and said it was ok. OK so I went to order things individually and then as she was leaving realized it would make more sense to get an all star bfast. I had said instead of grits I wanted hashed browns. What did I get with my meal? Grits. When I politely mentioned that I had asked for hash browns she got this super angry look on her face and explained snarkily that I had not. After a few back and forths of this, I was baffled by this, and I tried not to go off. I explained that I wasn’t going to eat the grits and that I wanted hash browns. She took the grits and told the cook, and then said she wanted to go home and started crying. I highly suggest that this waitress get mental help or learn how to deal with difficult situations without crying. I said nothing serious enough for her to cry, I was actually pretty polite considering how she addressed me. I will never go back.

Been in lots of Waffle Houses. This one is short of help, slow, and disorganized. If you sit down and want to order they tell you they have to take other tables order first if they sat down first. Their hiring now sign is up. Does not look like the employees like working here. The reason for today’s slowness is the cook. The cook controls the pace and was only allowing one person at a time and a few minutes between orders. Not smart with a line on a Saturday morning. The cook actually said hold on to a waitress and wait 60 seconds, like sing happy birthday a few times then you can order. Really?

This Waffle House experienced started off bad, but ended up great. The waitress took a long time to get to me and take my order, but she did tell me twice that she’d be with me soon. However once she was with me the service was splendid and she was attentive though I had no needs. The food in my opinion is pretty consistent across all waffle houses and this was no exception. Nothing spectacular but not as bad as some may think. And, if you’ve never tried chili on your hash browns, do it! I will gladly return to this Waffle House the next time in the area.

My food was good, the waitresses were friendly. The cook was snapping at the waitresses and looking like he was about to kill someone while he fumbled around causing his own slowdowns. Ironically I noticed that his hat was sporting his nickname«GRUMP» on the back of it with the waffle house logo on the front as kind of an endorsement of his bad attitude and watch out if you work with me. Thank you Waffle House, I hope your waitresses and customers appreciate the positive environment you endorse. Hey I was so happy when I left I opened this Unilocal account, first time user!

Yes, I know I was going to a Waffle House, so for them to get 1 star from me means it was a miserable experience. The server took forever to get to us. When she finally did, she would only take our drink order, although we were ready to submit our entire order by the time she finally showed up. Again, it took way too long for her to come back with a coffee and a water, but when she came back we were able to place our food order. Luckily, we were sitting where we could see what was going on. There were 2 people sitting at the counter and 3 tables in the restaurant(we were one of the tables). 2 of the 3 tables already had their food. One guy who arrived five minutes after us was already eating at the counter. The servers call the food out to the cook. With that said, the only people wating for food was our table and one guy at the counter, but for some reason the cook wouldn’t let the server call our order out to her. Overhearing their conversation, I made note of the time. 10 minutes had passed from the time the server took our order until I was finally pissed off enough to just get up and leave. I feel like I lost 30 minutes of my life witnessing 4 monkeys try to fuck a football. A whopping 3 people were sitting without food, the cook hadn’t even started the orders, and these idiots were in the weeds. This Waffle House is a total joke. I don’t care how drunk you are or how cheap you are looking to eat. The staff at this location totally sucks!

3.5 stars Long story short: run of the mill diner type of place, decent prices, interesting people. Long story long: I went to Kansas City last month to visit some a couple friends and take a mini vacay. A couple of my friends were already there, and one of them came to pick me up because we were staying together at a hotel. Considering it was like 11PM when I got in, I was pretty hungry. I guess to keep with tradition of going straight to somewhere to eat from the airport whenever I travel somewhere, we opted for this place, especially because it was on the way to our hotel down the street. The place looks like a run of the mill diner. Walking in, the place looks like its stuck in the 50s and actually a little dirty. Yet, we stayed. I guess considering we were the only people in the place, it would’ve been a little awkward to walk in, then just walk right out. We sat down and our«lovely» waitress came by to hand us menus. We just got water and looked over the menu. I got the All Star Breakfast special, which comes with 2 eggs, grits or hash browns, toast, choice of bacon, country ham, or sausage, and either a waffle or pancake. I got my eggs scrambled, hash browns, country ham, and a waffle. My friend was still full from dinner so he ordered a chicken biscuit. When everything arrived, I briefly thought it might be too much food. But then again, that never stopped me. Everything had been made fresh. Granted its probably not the most immaculate of kitchens, but at least everything was hot. Our waitress was nice and her service, while not the tip top of customer service that you’d find at a place like Craft or Providence, but she didn’t leave me any reason to lower her overall tip. Considering I didn’t go to bed or wake up the next morning with an upset stomach of any kind, I would come back… if ever in KC again.

The people who work at Waffle House look like the kind of people who would ROB a Waffle House. I kid, they’re nice people who work hard for a living delivering friendly and fast service. Not having eaten at a Waffle House in over ten years and my wife never eating at one I decided it was time. This location’s parking lot is kept very clean and the smell of maple syrup greets you at the door. I remember Waffle Houses being much more yellow and retro on the inside but they now seem almost generic. The coffee is actually decent for diner coffee and the food is of the quality you would expect for a $ 6 breakfast. I like that Waffle House offers grits! This location, like all Waffle Houses, is open 24 hours a day. It’s a half mile West of I-35 and located on the North side of the street. OKCWH: I once slept in my car in the parking lot of an Oklahoma City Waffle House because I was too cheap to pay for a motel.
