Zounds Hearing designs, manufactures and sells hearing aids of the highest quality. Our products are sold through corporate-​owned and franchise locations. Our Rosana Square location is at the N.W. corner of 119^th St. and Metcalf Ave. in Overland Park, Kansas. We are centrally located to serve those needing hearing aids in the Kansas City metro area.

Our mission is to help the world hear better by providing a superior hearing aid system at an exceptional value in an accessible customer-​friendly environment.

History

Established in 2009.

Zounds was founded by Sam Thomasson, an Engineer and entrepreneur who has spent his career developing new technologies in the medical device and consumer electronics industries. Sam is also the father of a hearing-​impaired daughter and has witnessed the problems associated with today’s hearing aids. Sam promised his daughter that he would develop a hearing aid to address the key problems common with other high-​end hearing aids. Zounds’ breakthrough technology is the fulfillment of a father’s promise to his daughter and the solution for dissatisfied hearing aid users around the world.

I’m a 25 year retail executive with focused on consumer electronics and entertainment. As I researched my next business venture I discovered that serving the aging population was in line with my interests and skills that I’ve developed over the years.

Hearing Loss in this country is a widespread and an under recognized condition that deserves immediate attention by those afflicted and their loved ones. The aging population is growing at a rapid rate and is under served in both quantity and quality of care services and products. I hope to bring attention to hearing loss and particularly to the Zounds products that deliver as good as or better than most hearing aid devices one encounters in the market place. Zounds is built on delivering a high quality, American engineered and sold product at a very reasonable price range as compared to traditional sources for hearing aids.
