Val-​U Liquors has the largest selection of liquor, wine and beer (including microwbrew beer) in Owensboro Ky. This is a locally owned business that is run by the third generation in our family. We specialize in customer service. If you have a special event that you are planning, let us recommend selections, quantities and even bartenders! If you can’t find what you are looking for in our store, we will see if it is available from our distributors and order it for you. Try us, you won’t be disappointed.

History

Established in 1980.

This store is owned by the Smith family. The first liquor store owned by our family was Park Plaza Liquor Store, opened by Richard Smith Sr. in 1968. Richard Smith III took over this business in 1972 and subsequently owned: Mr. Whiskey, Gabes Tower Liquors, House of Firewater and Iron Horse Liquors. When Richard III died, his daughter, Nicole, agreed to take over the business and loves it! Nicole graduated from Apollo High School and Centre College. She is customer oriented. If you have any kind of event to plan, she can suggest products and quantities to purchase for the size of your crowd that are sure to please. If you need a local bartender, she can put you in touch.

Meet the Manager

Nikki S.

Manager

Nikki is a 2002 graduate of Apollo High School and a 2006 graduate of Centre College. She is currently attending Western KY University toward an MBA. Nikki is following in her father’s footsteps. The family has been in the liquor business since 1972 and has survived by giving the best customer service in the Owensboro, KY area.
