Big 5 Sporting Goods

Not that great of a selection of what I was looking for but it looks like a great place to buy your kids sporting goods equipment.
They did have a yoga mat though that I might go back and get.
It seems like the quality isn’t there like it used to be.

The store manager is great and runs a great store. My son and I like this Big-​5 better than the Ventura store. The employees are more knowledgable with their product.

Low stars on the customer service.
Called in wanting to inquire if they ha a product in stock that I found online. The website said this location had the item but was low in stock. When I called in, I was literally passed on to at least 4 different people and each time on hold for a few minutes.
When I finally spoke to someone, he wasnt helpful at all. I feel like her just have me an answer so he can get off the phone and go back to doing nothing.
Overall, I ended up driving and coming in to buy my item.

I feel so guilty coming in here the past few weeks because
1. I work at an outdoor store now and I feel like I’m cheating on them for being here lol
2. The things I bought here didn’t leave me satisfied so I’ve always came back for an exchange of something else that fit better or something that I really needed
Andrea and Ceselley were awesome employees who helped make each of my returns easier. Big 5 has a great store policy on returns/​store credit and if it wasn’t for that, I would have been stuck with a brand-​spanking-​new 5 person tent that would remain new because my family isn’t into camping like I am: P
In the end, I got a cute Hello Kitty watch along with a set of flashlights, tools, clock and a arm band for my iPhone when I work out. Can’t go wrong with that!

Employees don’t make any eye contact & don’t offer any assistance. You ask for it & they say «go ask that guy over there»… Happend the same my previous visit. Shoes are commonly out of stock. I’m assuming because I have a common shoe size thats why I have this issue when coming here but wouldn’t you think they’d order more of the common sizes?!? Anywhooo customer service is definitely not a priority
