Bigstraw is a smoothie bar that blends the freshest fruits and ingredients together with the addition of boba for a delectable treat.

Boba is a tapioca pearl derived from ground cassava. The boba itself does not have a particular flavor but rather takes onto the flavor of your smoothie. It adds texture to your drink, somewhat like a gummy bear and serves as a quick snack while you enjoy your drink.

The boba is included in the price of your smoothie, but it is totally optional for those who would rather do without it.

History

Established in 2002.

We can proudly claim that we introduced «Boba» to Ventura county in 2002. Bigstraw started blending drinks and adding boba to smoothies in a pool hall called «Trolley Billiards & Arcade», located by the Oxnard Airport on 5^th Street & Ventura Rd.

We also had a location at the Food Court across from Century 16 Theaters in Ventura, CA. This Oxnard location was opened in 2007 and serves as our main store. We are going to expand in other cities soon!
