I set up an appointment after speaking to him at length. He was a no show. I called him several times and left several messages and crickets. Wish I could give zero stars. So unprofessional.

What started off as a some small master bath updates turned into a nightmare. We noticed that we had a small water leak within the walls that destroyed two load-​bearing walls. We had six different contractors take a look at the damage and provide detailed estimates. We chose Mike at GenHawk because of his personality. His pricing wasn’t the cheapest and it wasn’t the most expensive but the customer service is what we needed. It was going to be our first major project and we felt that Mike would ‘ease’ us the rest of the way with his honesty. We’re glad we did. It was great working with Mike.
A project of this size had to be done in stages (demolition, plumbing, concrete, framing, etc) and at every stage we consulted with an engineer in the family who always commended the approach and work that Mike was doing. GenHawk did the demolition and replaced footing and framing all the way to laying the tiles and painting. The finished product was excellent. On top of that, the schedule he laid out for us was always on time. At some stages he was finished before the deadline.
Highly recommended and will do business again with GenHawk!
On a side note: We looked around for several contractors to come and take a look at our issue. We got the impression from 4 out of the 6 that it was just another proposal/​quote. There was no real ‘care’ about the project and your goals. A couple of them kept receiving calls from people who were waiting to hear back from them on quotes (you could hear the conversation). I felt that if we would have gone with one of them we would have never seen them again… just the subs would be coming around. Mike came every single day. It meant a ton to us.

Our HOA has used this company many times for repairing or replacing balconies, replacing drywall, installing windows and other construction type jobs. They have also done some remodeling for the owners of some of the units. The owner, Michael Hawkins, has always responded immediately when we call for work to be done and he has always done a great job and stands behind his work. Give them a try — I’m sure you’ll be happy with their work.
