So, I’ll be honest… The fact that I rarely use Unilocal might take away some of my credibility but for what it’s worth, it takes a lot for me to be motivated enough to write a Unilocal review.
I reached out to Charlotte a few weeks back for a pesky ticket that I had to deal with in Ventura. I lived in Ventura back in 2003/2004…recently, I moved from San Diego to Santa Cruz county. I got a ticket for 75 in a 65 which is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Anyhow, I wrote in a trial by written declaration in hopes of avoiding a 4 – 5 hour drive (each way) and time in a courthouse. I got denied.
Then I was freaking out a bit as I have a couple of moving violations on my insurance and recently bought a new truck. Basically, in the span of 3 – 6 months of bad luck and circumstance, my insurance had already gone from $ 80/​mo to $ 280/mo…so yeah, can’t afford another moving violation.
I started pricing out attorneys in the area and it was looking like $ 1,000-$ 1,500 to get the charge dropped. While I was considering spending the money to avoid repercussions with insurance, somehow I happened upon Charlottes website and gave her a call…
She called me back quickly and was super down to earth. I’ve deal with insufferable, egotistical lawyers who have no time for you in the past, so she was a bit of a breath of fresh air. Anyhow, she quoted me $ 150 to appear for the day but leveled with me and said that the local judge was a bit harsh. She mentioned that best case scenario was that the officer didn’t show and it would get thrown out. I got lucky and that’s exactly what happened. However, I would have spent an entire day, racked up miles on my truck and dropped at least $ 100 in gas for the same result. The bottom line is that I was blown away with her timeliness, honesty and attitude. She answered all of my emails in a quick and informative but down to earth fashion.

I was pulled over on on my way to LA from Santa Barbara and got cited for speeding, 100 mph+. Naturally, I was worried so I contacted Ms Lin the following week, and she explained the legal process to me very concisely, and took care of the whole ordeal from start to finish. She kept me well informed and advised on what to do to get a lighter fine, if not an outright dismissal. In the end, she was able to have my ticket amended to a regular speeding ticket and given the lowest possible fine!

I recently needed representation for an unemployment appeal. I searched several different lawyers but none of them ever responded because my case did not seem like an easy win by any means. However, when I contacted Ms. Lin she readily offered her assistance. She did not offer any false hope but instead offered very good advice on how to build support for my argument. Needless to say I won my appeal and I am very appreciative of her assistance as I do not feel I could have won with out her help.

Charlotte helped me sue my landlord in Ventura. She was very proactive in making suggestions on how to proceed and what my rights were. Ms. Charlotte Lin’s law firm is always accountable and she knows what she’s doing. She’s relatively new — not a brand new lawyer, she’s been out of school and practicing for the past few years, not fresh out of school or has little amounts of experience. Ms. Lin represents her clients to her best ability and goes above and beyond.
