Pacific Coast Re-Bath

Same experience as Mike S. They responded to a web-​query for estimate on my rental property, but the lady insisted my wife be present after we set a time to meet there. Probably some hard sell BS. Didn’t bother with them– there are a lot of choices with better customer ratings, many that don’t play these stupid games.

Alex was out here to give us a quote about a simple bathroom remodel early in October, he said wouldn’t have the quote overnight, but now a month later, and he still hasn’t sent us a quote. I called their main line and spoke with Doreen who said she’d let him know 2 separate times… no call back. I also emailed them, but that message didn’t get through either. This company was referred to us through Home Depot, and I’m shocked as to the lack of response, and I will be sure to contact the Woodland Hills location and notify them. I am happy we didn’t use them as I see other reviews stating their lack of communication during the process… who needs this trouble when doing remodeling! I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR THOSE WHO DID START THE PROCESS WITH THIS COMPANY. NOT HOW IT SHOULD WORK AT ALL.

My 4 day job turned in to 14 weeks ! Starting with the floor they had to do over and over because they never fixed the wood under the flooring. The shower head was installed on the wrong wall but I can get over that sense they installed a hand held on the far wall so you can turn the shower on without the water going out the shower door. The shower glass was the wrong size and had to be reordered 3 times. On 3^rd try they just stuck a extra ¾ wide strip to make it work. They broke a mirror that was 5’x 4 foot that they said they would replace with a bevel mirror after 5 weeks they sent one man to install a flat none beveled mirror that I had to help him install. They also never reinstalled the bathroom door they took off. They do have a great customer service gal who was trying her best to take of me I would give her 5 stares.

Pros: Installers– Drew, Wade and Dustin were excellent. Over the 3 ½ days, they were courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and punctual. They kept a clean work area and didn’t leave any trash or waste around especially during demolition. Highly recommend their work.
Installation– well designed, matching brushed nickel fixtures in standup shower (no tub). Standard sliding glass doors that works perfectly. A beautiful matching, custom bench seat went in nicely after Dustin figured out a long lasting, sturdy configuration. (Pictures to follow)
Shower– walls were the white «classic subway tile» look from floor to ceiling and three walls surround. Beautiful, clean look and easy to maintain.
Cons: Only that the bench framework that came with the building materials was larger than the shower floor. Therefore, could not be installed that day and had to be sent out to a fabricator to reduce the length so it would fit. After a couple weeks wait, it was installed the day that Rebath received it from the fabricator.
Overall, it was a very positive experience despite the delay in the shower bench. Carl the sales person, the installers, the office personnel and BRETT, the production manager were all polite, receptive to our needs and seemed to do their best under the circumstances. Because of the bench seat delay, gave them 4 instead of 5 stars. However, we would do it again and also recommend them and the Rebath product.

Good and not so good: I signed my contract in mid February, 2015, which quoted a 6 – 8 week start date. This was for bathtub removal and shower replacement only. When the 8 weeks had passed, I called about the status, and was told a minimum of 12 weeks. That took it from a 5 star to a 4 star.
Before the work started, I added to the contract to have my vanity replaced and wallpaper removed and walls repainted, so that added to the delay of the completion, but that was MY doing, not theirs.
When I inquired about the time to do the job, I was quoted about a week. Finally, when it got started, it took longer than I was quoted or had anticipated. I must say, the workers were a pleasure to have in my home. They knew their craft, they cleaned up after themselves, they were quite good.
The bathroom was finished about 6 weeks after it was started, and that did not include from the time I first signed the contract. Counting that, it would have been over 4 months.
Meanwhile…as I would call to check status, when someone would be out, how long they would be here, etc, their customer service was deplorable. I would call, be placed on hold for 20 minutes, with no speaking to anyone, no offer to call back, no «I’m sorry, he’s not available…» Nothing.
I would write emails that would take almost a week to reply… with one email promising, «We are doing our very best to take care of your situation…» and «in the future, you will receive the responses you are expecting and deserve as a customer of ours. Please make note of this email and my contact information below for any further issues.»
Emails continued to go without a timely reply. Once when told someone would be here on a Saturday (no time was given) I emailed on a Tuesday to ask what time I should expect someone on Saturday… no reply. Finally on Friday I wrote again, trying to find out what time so I could plan my day, and was given a time. 4 days to answer a simple email was not acceptable.
They also put through my final payment before the work was completed, which violates the Contractors State License Board law. That was straightened out but the contract clearly states they cannot charge for work that is not done.
Also suggested to the company to have someone come to my home when the work was done, do a «walk through» and once I am satisfied, have me sign off so the final payment can be made.
So long story short, bathroom looks great, workers were incredible, customer service was terrible. If you can live with the very poor customer service (or lack of it…), you won’t be disappointed. If customer service is important to you as it is to me, there are other companies out there.

Nearly 8 weeks after signing a contract with them and I hadn’t received a single correspondence from them. Called and was told «as the time line in the welcome packet states installation is 8 – 12 weeks». I never received a welcome packet! Also salesman told us no more than 10 weeks. Horrible customer service! I read the negative reviews yet still moved forward but was assured that I shouldn’t be concerned, «look at the BBB rating» I was told. I saw it… I also read numerous negative experiences others have had with this specific location. I also had the same issue as another reviewer where they were pushing for my husband to be home. If it’s my name on the house and my name on the credit card then why does it matter? On a positive note, the installer was awesome. He was very professional and friendly. I think that Re-​Bath should have had more than one person installing my new bathtub however so that he had help moving heavy items. I have another bathroom to remodel and though I think the final product (only about a month old) is beautiful customer service is too important. I don’t mind spending more if it means a better overall experience. In the end they also did not charge my correct credit card. I provided a different card than the initial down payment due to a longer interest free period but they failed to follow the simple direction.

My husband and I just had a new shower installed two days ago from Pacific Coast Re-​Bath. The shower is absolutely beautiful; flawless installation. The two installers, Drew and Pat were highly professional in all respects. They were timely, extremely clean and well organized. The entire experience was the very best we have ever experienced with a contractor before.
We recommend the company very highly.

Thom was thorough and friendly when explaining all the details of installing a walk-​in shower. The guys who came to remove tub and install walk-​in shower were prompt, professional and cleaned up! :) I had several questions before our installation date and the customer service ladies were efficient, quick and very kind.

Had an appointment with this group. They called to confirm and asked that my wife be present. I said she is unavailable (and has no desire to talk construction… busy schedule running a business, trusts husband, we talk to each other etc.) they asked to reschedule.
I said no deal, take me off your schedule for good.
What if I had no wife, would they not take my money?
What if I were a widower, would they not trust my judgement?
Smells of discrimination?

After obtaining several quotes from local contractors, I opted to have PCR install a new tub, surround, and counter top in the guest bath, and a new shower/​surround and counter top in the master. The convenience of having someone come to your home with sample materials is terrific — most contractors will tell you, «go pick out what you want at the local tile store and let me know when it’s ready to install.» Who has time for that? I wanted to keep some elements of the existing baths — flooring, vanity — and they accommodated my wishes with no problem.
The materials are fabricated to order in their factory, which takes 8 – 10 weeks. Right on time, I was contacted to schedule installation. One minor delay of a day due to the previous job running over — again, better than you can expect from most contractors who have been known to reschedule multiple times, or start the job and then disappear.
And the installation team — wow! I’ve never seen contractors work that hard! Mike, Santos, and Steve started early and worked into the evening. They cleaned up after themselves. Everything was fully installed in two days — amazing — and a big plus for someone like me who HATES having the house torn up for days on end.
And did I mention that it looks GREAT? A far cry from tacky old tile and crumbling grout. The product is high quality — shower door is solid, heavy glass; units don’t creak or sound hollow; fixtures are substantial. Mike suggested installing two small ceiling lights in the master shower (at minimal cost), and it made a HUGE difference.
Love my new baths! Now I just have to get the rest of the house to look this good!

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT sign a contract with this unethical and poorly managed business! They are only interested in chasing new money and not at all interested in honoring their customers or fixing problems they may create along the way.

Contracted 8÷26÷2013 with Pacific Coast Re-​Bath owned and operated by Mike Storms, 813 E. Ventura Blvd. in Oxnard CA 805−485−5888 to remodel my 91 year old mother’s shower. The salesman correctly marked «white marble» on the contract, and also promised that the company is famous for their «no-​seam» finish where the four DuraBath shower walls connect.
Waited until October 16^th for the installation. Re-​Bath called THAT DAY and tried to change installation date! Told them NO WAY. After telling me she’d «see what she could do», the office manager called me back and had the audacity to make me feel as if they had to push another more important job back so they could do mine that day as scheduled!
Met with worker at mom’s house and stayed while plumbing was being done, had to leave before walls were installed. Came next day to inspect the new shower and found that the walls were plain white, not white marble like the contract stated. Seamless white smooth calking ran out after only a small portion of the finish and the laborer used an off-​white, porous grout (which not long afterward split and exposed cracks allowing water into the walls of my mother’s home).
I contacted Pacific Coast Re-​Bath immediately and texted photos. Doreen acknowledged receipt. Then I waited to see exactly when or what they would do to rectify this botched job.
Absolutely nothing. So I complained to the Better Business Bureau on 12÷3÷13. I received a call from the company the very next business day promising prompt action and so I selected «satisfied» on the BBB response form and explained we needed to «wait and see» the results of their promise.
Re-​Bath again sent the initial installer, Rodney, on December 18^th. He had barely arrived before telling me that he had the wrong sizes of wall material that day and could not do the job.
Almost a month later, on January 17^th, another installer arrived, Chad, and quickly told me he did not have enough walls to do the job.
Chad rescheduled to come back the next week as he was «open all week». The following work dates were scheduled then cancelled each and every day after I had gotten off of work each day to be there at my mother’s home: January 21^st, 23^rd, and the 24^th. The excuses ranged from scheduling conflicts to a flat tire.
Tired of dealing with workers who appear to be running the company, I called the office and asked to speak with the owner, and was given the run-​around and promises they’d have the «district manager» give me a call. The owner NEVER dignified me with a contact.
Eventually, after many conversations with the District Manager and explaining to him that they’d had ample opportunity to complete the job and couldn’t and that I’d already re-​sealed the walls myself so mom could bathe without letting water into the walls, he offered a $ 1,000 refund, which I declined. Two days later, the DM said the most they would be willing to refund was $ 1,250, with the added condition that I remove an article about our negative experience with Pacific Coast Re-​Bath from the Website «Rip-​Off report». I told him I could not remove the report, but that I had every intention of giving a positive update to the report if I indeed had a good outcome in our dealings. He agreed to this, then the company sent poorly written documents for me to sign before they would honor their promise to issue a refund, documents worded to make it look like I was to receive «compensation» for fixing their reputation — basically Extortion, which I declined to sign. The final draft of their document I agreed to: it stated that I was agreeing to amend the contract by accepting the all white finish as opposed to our initially desired white marble finish, and that I would simply agree to amend the Rip-​Off Report, no further demands. I signed that document and amended my Rip-​Off Report truthfully. Then I waited for a refund check after directing the company representative of Pacific Coast ReBath, Jennifer, to the Weblink containing my amended report of March 4^th.
Well, seven months after contracting with Pacific Coast Re-​Bath, we have yet to have them honor our much deserved refund agreement. They have now essentially withheld our check until they can get me to amend my report in a way that management feels would be more «helpful» to their business than my honest version already given.
After my experience with Pacific Coast Re-​Bath of Oxnard, CA, can you imagine the frustration of trying to get them to honor their promised Lifetime Warranty if you have a problem down the road? Trust me, if you’re not new money, the chances of getting them to show up and fix a job are slim to none!

We have just lived through a half-​year of frustration thanks to this company. We signed the original contract back in March, and they are finally finished now, at the end of December. The original workmanship was terrible (uneven shower door, loose fixtures, a buzzing noise in the pipes), and the owner/​contractor had to come out to fix almost everything the first guy did. In addition, the first two sinks they installed had hairline fractures in them and had to be replaced. Worst of all, though, is the company’s very poor customer service. We would have forgiven everything if they had been apologetic and tried their best to get our problems fixed in a timely manner. Instead, they did not return calls, they lied and said they had tried to email us «several times» and they pretty much acted like all the problems were somehow our fault. While the Re-​bath shower wall product seems good so far, I wouldn’t recommend using this franchise until the owners grow up a little and learn how to run a business. Save yourself the months-​long headache!

Pacific Coast Re-​Bath recently remodeled my master bathroom. The quality of the work in the end was excellent and exceeded my expectations. I cannot speak highly enough of the workmanship and the results. There were however some bumps along the way for which you should be prepared.
First let me say that the owner of this franchise is an honest, hard working individual who is a wonderful craftsman and he takes great pride in doing an outstanding job. Others in his employ however are not so committed. The initial foreman was more concerned with getting the job done quickly than with doing it right and had we continued with him, we most certainly would have been disappointed. Once the owner took over our project, he made every effort to make everything right including reworking what others had done poorly.
As for customer service, PC Re-​Bath has room for improvement. They are a victim of their own success. Re-​Bath has a contract with Home Depot to do bathroom remodeling and the influx of business has been difficult for them to manage. They are overbooked and are not getting to projects in a timely manner. To further compound the problem, they are doing a poor job of communicating with customers, so we found ourselves weeks after our project was promised to begin with little information about when it might actually commence. At one point, we had concerns that we might actually lose our 50% deposit. The owner of this local franchise is however an honest man and fulfilled our expectations. He and I discussed his business growth issues and he is working to improve and I believe he will.
The salesperson with whom we first met was quite good, spent an entire day with us, and closed the deal, and took our deposit. Thereafter, we could not reach him by phone, rarely would he respond to an email, and we never ever saw him again. This left us with a very uneasy feeling. While this does not address the lack of communication with our salesperson, were I to do this again, I would write into the contract that if Re-​Bath does not complete the project by a certain date, that they would be subject to penalties and that if they did not commence the project by a certain date, that I would have the right to cancel for a full refund.
In summary, the bathroom turned out great and met our every expectation. The owner is a real craftsman who takes great pride in his work. Others there however are not as dedicated. They have more work than they can effectively handle right now and are not effectively communicating with their customers about delays, but they are working to improve. If you use them, and the owner personally does the work, you will be satisfied, but you will need to exercise some patience.

Great installation /​lousy customer service
Salesman brought a lot of information, gave me a quote on the spot, and took my deposit. Was told that installation would follow in about 4 — 6 weeks. Received letters confirming the order and stating that installation would be complete in 6 — 8 weeks. At the six week point I began calling the office for updates. I was told there was no installation date available yet because they were so busy. Of course, there was fine print stating that there could be delays. I understand that, but why not let the customer know? The person answering the phone could not answer questions and rarely returned calls. At times I wondered if my order would be filled. Sent a letter to the office manager and received NO response. Finally the call came and installation was scheduled. I cleared my schedule as you are required to be home on installation day. Several days later I received another call and told of a different installation date — and the caller seemed to have no record of the first date. Fortunately, the installer did a fantastic job and I’m very happy with the results. I’d give 5 stars for the results, but the frustration of their lack of customer service brought it down to 3.

FANTASTIC owner operated bathroom remodel company. Rebath Oxnard installed beautiful «marblestone» walls & counter tops and their pricing and workmanship was second to NONE in all of Ventura. Highly recommended company to do business with.

We signed a contract with Camarillo Re-​Bath for a SHOWER ENCLOSURE on 9÷22÷2008. forget about any «one Day» job completion! We paid the balance on Dec. 8, 2008 thinking that was it!!! Imagine our surprise when we got a bill for $ 800 for a shower door??? One would think a shower ENCLOSURE would include a DOOR! That is what we told Camarillo Re-​Bath when they weren’t being rude or hanging up on us! We actually thought Corporate could help us out — forget that!!!
Camarillo Re-​Bath called and threatened to take us to small claims — they continued to harrass us until they turned us over to a collection agency and then they continued to harrass us about a shower door that we thought came with a «Shower Enclosure»!! Now an attorney has called us saying we owe $ 1200 but would settle with a one time offer of $ 450. What a classic case of ELDER ABUSE!!! I am lucky I didn’t have a heart attack with all this harrassment!!!
I am warning all prospective clients of Camarill Re-​Bath DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!
I would not recommend Camarillo Re-​Bath services to anyone whether I cared for them or not!!! Total RIP-​OFF!!!
