if your getting donuts at 2:00am, it is not supposed to be a classy experience. The man who served me was very abrupt, almost rude, but then he gave me several free donuts after I only ordered one an paid him $ 1.00. I thought this was very nice. Perhaps he took one look at me and could see that I still had a long night-time journey in front me. He even offered me a coffee, which I declined. Sure, this place is basically the exact opposite of Whole Foods, but if the economy collapses again, we will need places like this! Poster’s Donuts does not have the best donuts or the best coffee, but that is what makes it so great. It’s a classic donut shop that doesn’t pretend to be healthy, because let’s face it, none of them are. And why are all of the donut shops in Oxnard open 24 hours? If you are an insomniac donut lover, move to Oxnard, CA.

I went to pick up donuts for my coworkers so I stopped by the store and was greeted by a small older asian man. I told him I needed 2 dozen donuts and he preceeded to give me two boxes of donuts with possibly 50 donuts, I’m not sure what was the accurate count, but I give him twenty bucks, sometimes a little more because of his generosity. I’m not really sure if he understands english but anytime someone gives me 50 donuts its all good. ha ha ha ha ha Its the only place I buy donuts. period.

a couple of us los angelenos took a drive up PCH and ended up in «downtown oxnard» one evening. since i was feeling a bit depressed, i allowed myself to eat a donut.(shut up, i eat my emotions, okay?) the freshness of the donuts was questionable as it was 11pm, but this is expected from a 24-hour joint in the middle of oxnard. i don’t think the woman behind the counter understood any english so we resorted to pointing and nodding as you would do in a foreign country like canada. we ordered two donuts and paid with loose change. i tried a glazed twist. it was probably made that morning. not bad, not the best either. again, this was expected. i was in better spirits on the drive back to LA. empty calories always help. :) parking situation: easy strip mall parking out front.

They’re open 24 hours, and have an ATM, in case you feel like waving it around in front of the guys semi-passed out in front of the sketchy liquor store right next to it. I wouldn’t bother heading over if you’ll get a donut like the chocolate chip roll I got with weird-tasting dough, but admittedly, it didn’t look like their specialty so you might have a very different experience. The people are nice. They also have a soda fountain, in case you don’t like the can thing, and the place is pretty spacious with a few tables. Unlike Ray’s, they have a nice selection of donuts at these late hours of the night, so you might be able to rotate around and prove me wrong on my call.
