Tequila and Taco Music Festival

First and last time. Didn’t care for the location which was in the middle of an outdoor mall area. You enter in one end and to cross over to the other section (park type area) you cannot bring your drink as it is crossing over the public mall street. You can buy drinks in both areas but not walk across with a drink. The setting for this type of even was strange. Many people with strollers and children which also seems strange for an alcohol event. I agree with the other review that is posted that the margaritas were nothing special and seemed as if it was a drink from a carnival versus a tequila event. Being a vegetarian I know that food at events can be challenging but there was no healthy food. No salads or healthy options. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and some of the vendors had nice jewelry and clothing.
My husband and I were looking forward to this event but it isn’t for us.

The only reason this festival gets two stars is because of «Foreverland» the Michael Jackson tribute band — great energy and style — the horn section was very good too!
Now for the rest… You tell people not to bring chairs and then don’t provide enough for even 5% of the people to sit down. Long line to get in, long lines for drinks and food. Not a big deal for me but we invited my wife’s parents who needed to sit, get out of the sun occasionally… You get the idea! Now it’s probably not fair but because I’m a certified bartender I have to comment. By far the WORST house margarita anywhere. Period. 7 up or sprite have no place in a margarita — very cheap tequila (see the photos) one seen was «El Mexico» (never heard of it) cheap triple sec and the cheap $ 1.99 mixers (sweet and sour) you find on sale at Ralph’s. I would have had more respect if you at least had used Kirkland silver (100% agave) at $ 19 for a 1.75L bottle — if the festival paid more than $ 10 for a 750ml bottle of that crap (yeah worse than Jose Cuervo) the joke is on them. $ 10 EACH drink ticket (the joke was on us!) Shoulda had beer and saved a headache. The food — tacos were pretty good at $ 3 each, good salsas were sampled, overall a 2.5 to 3.5 star on the food. Nowhere to sit down — no shade — spilled my $ 10 Margi and one plate of tacos upside on the ground while looking for a spot! $ 16 down the rabbit hole! Heat stroke, wasted food, and below average margaritas at a «tequila and taco» festival — nope won’t be going back!!! If you went and experienced this — back it up! We can hope for a major improvement next year (or they’ll get greedier and cheaper — if that’s possible!)
