Established in 1998.

Since 1998, we have owned and operated Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops in the D.C. metro area – Currently, we have eight locations, including our National Harbor store.

As an extension of our scoop shops, we offer ice cream catering throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, & Virginia, turning any gathering – birthday, office party, wedding, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, graduation, or just because – into a MOO-vable feast.

Karen Morse is the owner and franchisee for the metro DC area. She has a background in Sales and Hotel Management. Before joining Ben & Jerry’s, she was a corporate /convention sales director at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. She and her family live in DC, and she is involved in all aspects of the business.

Kinda good but kinda expensive. Don’t think it’s worth it, at least the flavor I got. I love cookies so I got the milk and cookies flavor which had vanilla and Choco ice cream and cookie bits. Cookie bits weren’t that big so they crumbled easily. It was okay, but not worth the 5+ dollars I paid for the small size. I’d skip it if you’re not craving it and don’t want to spend that much on ice cream.

Wow, this place hit all the low points! Poor customer service, folks don’t look at you or talk to you. No please or thank you just, what do you want. Portions are ridiculously small and the price is on par with a Disney park! On top of all that the product was mediocre at best! Seriously you would be better grabbing a desert at one of the little eateries here!

My mom and I decided to get some ice cream at National Harbor. Bad choice for a tasty treat. the lines were long. The service was slow and not very friendly (lots of teenagers employed at this location. The place was also not very clean and when asked about it they stated they clean when the crowd dies down… mmm that crowd was not dying down anytime soon on a hot Friday afternoon. They definitely should have had one of the 10 people behind the counter wiping down and sweeping. Not very pleasant at all.

Customer service is terrible. I had came here to buy two small ice cream which came up to be $ 11.64. When the lady gave me my change I asked if I could have change for a dollar because I wanted 4 quarters. However she closed the cash register already but I told her since the cash register was closed it was fine if she couldn’t give me change for the dollar. ANOTHER lady that works there made it her business to tell me I should’ve asked for the quarters before she closed the register. I don’t know why the other lady made it her business to tell me I should’ve asked before and in the tone she said it. I told her I forgot to ask before the cash register closed but I told the other lady if it’s too late don’t worry about it. I left by telling her not talk to clients like that because she didn’t have to be a smart mouth about the situation and it was rude. I was not satisfied with the customer service or ice cream. I could’ve went to the grocery store and bought some vanilla ice cream that would taste better.

Absurd pricing here. Service was OK, but 2 small, and I mean small scoops, one half teaspoon of sprinkles, and one waffle cone with slightly more ice cream on it worked out to be 20 bucks. I love Ben & Jerry’s and expect a little bit higher price than Baskin Robbins but I won’t be returning to this place. I guess it’s for the captive tourist audience, but ouch.

As a life-long and die-hard Ben & Jerry’s aficionada (and former employee), I walk into each Scoop Shop with a slightly different lens than perhaps the average ice cream seeker. What I saw when I entered the National Harbor B&J’s location for the first time was a pretty good B&J location that could be even better. While the shop’s layout is smart, and conducive to corralling the long lines, it would have been nice for the waffle cone maker to greet customers as they enter the shop, and tempt them with a bowl of delicious waffle cone bits — perfect opportunity. And while the shop itself was ably staffed on this summer night, it wasn’t too busy, yet the Scoopers seemed annoyed to submit to hand out samples or explain a flavor to the uninformed in my party (that’s where I stepped in). And while I’m sure parents of young children and the visual consumer appreciate that you can peer into the ice cream display cases to feast your eyes upon, perhaps, the rich dark chocolate, fudge fish, and marshmallow ribbons of Phish Food, the staff could definitely use a lesson in how to keep a display appetizing and clean.
There is ample exterior seating for people-watching and even some beanbag toss games to keep the folks entertained. The prices aren’t jacked-up, even though it’s located in somewhat touristy National Harbor, so that’s nice. The shop is conveniently located along the strip of stores closer to water level (i.e. within the vicinity of the Peeps Store and located to the right of the base of the big stairway). You’ll find all of your typical full-fat and delicious premium ice cream treats, plus their equally-awesome sorbets, and a limited selection of Greek frozen yogurt and traditional frozen yogurt. Choose from a cup, a fresh-made waffle cone, a cake cone, or a sugar cone to holster your frozen goodies, or opt for a smoothie or a shake for the ultimate in portability.

Although the ice cream was good, my mistake was not looking at my charge receipt… cost me $ 16.70 for two small cups of ice cream. Definite ripoff as they quickly hustle you thru the line! Need to definitely look at receipt before leaving!

Although the ice cream was delicious, as to be expected, the customer service was awful. The workers basically crawled around the shop despite a decent sized crowd. Also, the portion size compared to price was absurd. Of course a high price is also expected at Ben and Jerry’s so that’s not the biggest complaint.

I enjoyed my trip to the ice cream shop because of the company that I kept. That said, the credit card machine was broken, so our transaction had to be cash. Sucks, because I’d planned to treat and only carry cards. Luckily my date had cash. The ice cream flavors were meh. I am biased, these days I ALWAYS look for a cake batter flavored ice cream. Ben & Jerry’s, get with it! The flavors they did offer were mostly some combination of chocolate (chocolate mint, chocolate turtle, chocolate, chocolate, coffee chocolate) I’m a chocolate lover and all, but a little more variety would be nice. The service was also a bit slow, but accurate. The staff were polite. I had the cotton candy with sprinkles. I think next time I’ll stick to Coldstone or Sweet Frog.

Let me start off by saying that the customer service was pretty bad this time. I’ve been there before when the service was pretty good but the 3 girls there today spent more time chatting amongst each other and disappearing to the back if the store. They were also a little impatient. The prices are a little high, but the ice cream is definitely worth it. I got the white chocolate and nuts cone and the banana peanut butter Greek frozen yogurt. It was very delicious.

Great ice cream, very expensive dirty shop and horrible service. It took twenty minutes to get our ice cream with one small group in front of us and six employees wandering around looking busy but obviously not cleaning the place. How do places like this stay open?

Its ben and jerry’s — so you know how the ice cream is here and you know how CRAZY expensive it is — $ 5.29 for a small two scoop (it was really one scoop) for my 3 year old. BUT, all their flavors were melted and disgusting looking. to add to the appeal they had just poured the remnants of the last melted tub onto the new one. It looked gross, and that is hard to do to ice cream. It was a nice cold rainy day, so this placed gets an added demerit for absolutely no indoor seating. We had to sit outside.
I rate this place a no. I wont be going back.

Best ice cream.
Worst ice cream shop.
It doesn’t help that it’s located in the weirdest Twilight Zone-esque harbor/town/city, manufactured, over-priced anomaly that is National Harbor.
$ 7 for dark-brown, burned waffle cone and the tiniest single scoop of ice cream I’ve ever seen in my life. Anywhere. Really, ever.
It it weren’t Ben & Jerry’s ice cream being served at this shop, I’d give them 1 star.

I used to love the Ben & Jerry’s pints you buy at the grocery stores when they were the pioneers of what I call mixed-junk ice cream (chunks of different stuff mixed in). You would think that a B&J brick and mortar store would offer something unique and special — but not really.
I would much rather go to a Cold Stone, Maggie Moos, or Frostie Moose than this place. The ice cream is just typical to me and there is just no pizazz. Especially not worth the crazy prices they charge for a single scoop — maybe that’s due to the location, I don’t know.

Why for everything that is sacred and holy, do they only have one person working on a busy Saturday afternoon. The ice cream is good, and the girl was nice enough. But in a tourist area, having just ONE person working on a weekend? Come on now. That’s just stupid. I suggest coming here on a Tuesday in the middle of the day so you don’t have to wait forever.

Even though it was freezing cold earlier the day before, bf and I decided that we wanted some ice cream. I had the lemon sorbet and he had a coconut 7 layer ice cream concoction… I am not a fan of coconut but it somehow tasted like the one coconut-having cookie that I can stand: samoas (girl scout cookies… btw I need to buy some!). My sorbet was very smooth and refreshing despite the weather. I wanted to get the Schweddy Balls, however they ran out but it is available in pints in the shop. Simple, yet great frozen treats!
Took off one star because the service sucks. I’m used to working in customer service-related fields, so I can be one to say if you don’t like to be courteous and like to have a nasty attitude, then don’t work there. I was nothing short of respectful because I know how it is when customer doesn’t know how to say «thank you» when you do a service for them, but how she treated me was uncalled for. She mysteriously treated my bf better though. We’re on different levels looks wise, so better luck with some other guy, buddy.

I’ve been to this shop a few times, and was surprised that there wasn’t a HUGE line since it was free scoop day. Got my free caramel chew scoop (DELISH) and made a donation to charity.
Any other time I’ve been here, I’ve been pleased. The line has never been too long for me and service was pleasant enough.
Today, however, I decided to write this review because I was put off by seeing 2 huge tubs of ice cream that were majorly iced/freezer burned/whatever you want to call it. Thankfully, the flavor I picked was ice particle free, but ICK.
It was SO unappetizing, and any ice cream place has to know that they must keep their goods at the perfect temperature to prevent such travesties.
The 3-stars remains because I love Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and couldn’t bring myself to take it down to the 2 this place deserves for (A) Letting the ice cream go bad and (B) Not removing it from the display.
