Very outdated and gross! Smells funky… Need serious updates!!! Great view of the ocean and by it love the sounds at night

Mixed reviews made me nervous but no question our visit was absolutely perfect! Excellent view, friendly staff, as some have said its not a «luxury hotel» but in our experience best price and value in area. Small kitchen area was perfect we saved a TON of money buying local seafood & cooking ourselves, I would come back in a heartbeat, we loved it here! Easy beach access & had practically whole beach to ourselves too.

A great place to stay that’s right on the beach. Casa Loma is literally beachside, with just a few hundred feet between your room to the water. All rooms also have an ocean view with a balcony. Every room is a great value. The standard rooms have two queen beds with plenty of amenities(fridge, iron, hair dryer). Upgrade to a kitchenette for only a small percentage more. There is also a pool that’s nestled between the building and the beach. Not only are the rates here among the lowest around Panama City, but Casa Loma also gives you a pleasant, inviting stay. Upon checking in, I was warmly greeted and offered to stay on any of the four floors of my choice. I recommend a higher level, but the view is still decent on the 1st level. Note that the 2nd level is directly accessible from the parking lot and with no elevator, that is something to keep in mind. Speaking of parking, it’s free and they’ll give you a placard for your car. You can rest assured knowing that random cars won’t be using the lot to park. The only thing keeping this review from 5-stars is that the premises is a bit dated. Don’t get me wrong, it won’t affect your stay much, if at all. I did find it slightly odd that the room only had one small trash can that was in the bathroom. Regardless, the fact that the rooms are comfortable, affordable and with direct beach access, makes Casa Loma a great choice for a Panama City Beach stay. I will definitely be coming back!

Casa Loma will do the job but it is certainly nothing luxurious. There were a few problems with the room that should be corrected by the hotel. The shower head is so low that you have to squat to get your head under the water. The electrical outlets are all broken so no plugs stay in the socket. I had to charge my cell phone in the bathroom because that was the only outlet that worked. The lamps, clock and television were all unplugged, probably because all of the outlets are broken. The sheets were clean but stained. The hotel clearly needs a little money put into it. Also what was strange is there is no public restroom for the lobby or pool. I didn’t go in the pool, but i imagine people are peeing in it because they have nowhere else to go. Hotel says it has wifi but the password was never shared with us.

Giving this hotel 5 Stars, but it is NOT a luxury 5 star hotel, so please read on! The biggest and best pro to this hotel is that it is DIRECTLY on the beach! Big, beautiful beach, and a lovely pool. Nice landscaping, staff that always seems to be out and about keeping up with things. Decently sized balcony with gorgeous views. From the time I called to book the hotel until arriving the front desk staff has been quite friendly and polite. About the rooms; we have 4 adults ranging from age 22 – 35 staying in one room. In the room there’s a TV, safe, coffee maker and a good sized mini fridge(which we used the heck out of), a desk, a table with a few chairs and 2 sitting chairs. The bathroom is small, but does the trick, shower only, no tub. It’s all tiled, floor to ceiling, and the floors of the room are tile, which really makes sense with all the sand. Please keep in mind, these aren’t fancy rooms. Somethings in the room are a little worn or dated, but the beds are comfortable, the AC is nice and cold, there’s plenty of fresh towels and it’s clean. Bottom line, if you want a great deal on a clean room ONTHEBEACH, this is your hotel. If you’re gonna be picky about how fancy and new your room looks, skip it. But we are happy with our choice and thrilled to be directly on the beach. Thanks Casa Loma!

We are staying here all this week. You go thru stages of feelings when you stay here. When you first get here, the parking is a nightmare! First stage: you walk in your room and think oh my gosh, I’m in Mexico! Second stage: walk in the bathroom and you sit on the toilet and think we’ll I guess we will pack back up and go on down the road. Third stage: sit on the bed and almost think they just put box springs on the frame for you to sleep. Fourth stage: I don’t really want these people to clean my room! :/ Fifth stage:(on about the 3rd day) this place really isn’t that bad! The price is very reasonable and you couldn’t ask for a better view.(All the rooms are balcony beach views). It’s close to everything and the people who work here really are nice. Even if they don’t look like they would be. What I have learned from staying here is don’t judge a book by its cover! :)

This hotel is great if you want to feel like you’re in hell for a night! Our room was so disgusting we stepped in and were appalled. Within two hours we were calling other hotels and making different reservations.

My family and I stayed here for about a week, the people were friendly, and we loved the view. It’s a bit colder here than the rest of Panama City Beach area because of the wind this place seems to attract, and two mornings and one night it smelled like garbage, which I can ignore. I’m probably being nicer than I should be because I can handle/over look some things as long as the bed’s are comfortable and clean and there are some perks like the amazing view. I enjoyed the beach, the heated pool also.

the room is fine. but its like prison. the front desk is awful, rude and harass guest. reported to the BBB and lucky I didn’t get a lawyer involved. We came the weekend before the spring break rush and found it to be the best deal in the area. Still a bit pricey, but the best value with a view on the beach. It’s right at the tip of Front Beach Road it is great for staying out of traffic and avoiding heavy pedestrian congestion. The biggest con is the $ 200 cash deposit at check in. CASHONLY. I wish we knew before we came as that’s not a normal thing to carry. If I booked online with a credit or debit card, I don’t understand the cash only deposit. NO guest in your rooms. you have to wear arm bands 24⁄7 to come on the property. seriously. you have to wear it all day and night. shower and all. No band and the security will ask you to leave the property. It’s awful. How can you get people to want to stay here if you don’t let people show off the rooms and view? odd. I do understand part of the methods to the madness. It’s probably because someone crammed 10 people in one room without paying and cost them in water and noise and such. However, its just to strict here for the quality especially if we were 30 year old guest. Other than that no complaints on the room as a room. hotels are all the same, but the policies make the difference. this company treats you as though you are a child and that’s not good business. However, as the rules didn’t affect MY stay, it was ok here. The service is awful however. Don’t ask for a few minutes extra to checkout, they will not allow it. They pic and choose who gets«courtesy bags» at check out based upon your behavior with the staff even though they are VERY rude at the front desk. I did have a review of 3 stars that got bumped to one because this place is awful. they are prejudice against the youthful guest and harass you public. the front clerk literally came around the desk, to the door to yell.

I headed down with some classmates for Spring Break 2011, we had booked another room nearby but it turned out to be a complete disaster so we headed down to Casa Loma. We were really surprised by how beautiful the view was and how clean the rooms were. Unfortunately, there wasnt any wireless internet or any available computers. The staff were a bit rude and the guys that are in charge of maintenance kept on staring at me and my friends as if we were pieces of meat. There weren’t any restaurants or local places nearby. Overall this is a 3 star place to stay in, just something quick and easy. By the way, a lot of old senior citizen residents retired and live in this hotel, so it’s not the best place for a fun and lively environment.
