Bridges to Recovery was created to bring the highest-​quality experience to a residential mental health treatment facility for the healing of mental health issues.

With locations in Bel Air, Pacific Palisades, and Santa Monica, California, Bridges to Recovery was one of the first licensed premier adult residential treatment programs designed for people suffering from psychiatric disorders, who are seeking in-​depth psychotherapy and an alternative to a hospital environment for their extended care.

Bridges to Recovery is licensed by the Department of Social Services and offers psychiatric care as an Adult Residential Treatment Facility or Social Rehabilitation Facility. Our Programs are certified by the Department of Mental Health.

This residential mental health program is exactly as another person wrote in their BTR review «Horrid». It is a profit driven business not sincerely open for patients/​residents who deserve the best care directed by medical doctors. My care at BTR was not directed by MDs. I have every right to share my feelings on Unilocal since I was a fully paid patient/​resident at this BTR location over one year ago fall, 2013. After 24hrs, BTR had to call «911“due to a new medical complication in which BTR is responsible after the hospital ER informed there medical team of my needs they had me return to BTR residential mental program that same night. After reflecting on my time spent at residential BTR mental program; the only reason that decision was made – out of greed to keep my money paid prior to starting. I required intense medical/​neuro follow up which BTR did not provide. After one week of suffering, I sincerely wanted to get the most out of my fully paid 28 day BTR program. My family was shocked since they were all at the ER, they are local to the area, and they wanted to take me back to their home. On your first day you are exposed and must sign that you agree with all btr policies & procedures as well non-​refundable $ 15,000 deposit. I was informed given my unique needs I would be refunded this large amount as well as the less than 1⁄5 amount which is stated a resident would be refunded if they had to leave prior to the 28 days. After, over one year, they refunded the promised less than 1⁄5 of this amount. Honestly, this place needs to become sincere and all staff should take a ethics course at the graduate level. Most importantly, BTR should do what is medically the best for each resident. Unilocal reviews should reflect the feelings a paid resident that was enrolled in this BTR residential mental health program.

I can’t say enough about Bridges to Recovery and their compassionate and well trained staff. My family and I would proudly recommend them to anyone. I’m not sure exactly how they did it but they really helped my brother turn his life around after so many others couldn’t. My younger brother has been suffering with major depression for years and my parents had tried just about everything — they were on the verge of giving up. On a recommendation from a friend they decided to give Bridges to Recovery a try and thank god they did.

Love Bridges To Recovery! They really helped my sister turn her life around. She had been in and out of a couple of other facilities for years mainly because of her addiction issues but BTR was finally able to get through to her. She loved her individual therapist Dr. Strang and the other young people she met there so much that I was worried that she wouldn’t want to come home. I would highly recommend Bridges to Recovery to anyone who is currently suffering or has a family member suffering from a mental illness.

When I first came to work with Bridges as a somatic therapist, not having had experience with some of the forms of treatment offered there, I was not confident about how effective a program it was. After a couple of months, I was amazed at what I was seeing. People were really changing and making fantastic progress. It’s not often that one can attribute a complete turn around in their life to the instruction and care of a mental health treatment facility. I think this is because most people picture these facilities to be like the staunch institutions of yesteryear. Needless to say, my family and I were a bit concerned when it came time to find a reliable and inviting facility for my sister. However upon visiting Bridges, we were welcomed by a well-​trained and attentive staff in an environment that was both serene and tranquil. We were still a little skeptical when we admitted her, but the growth and change we saw take place within my sister’s attitude and outlook on life is more than enough proof that this place really works! It’s nice to know that with the right therapy and a calm inviting environment, my sister had the opportunity not just to return to her same old self, but flourish into the sister I always knew she could be.

Absolutely unprofessional, irresponsible and negligent in their treatment of my 20’s year old daughter, who went in for treatment for overeating. After being positively assured by the medical director, Dr. Small, that emphasis would be given to monitoring weight loss, my daughter gained over 60 pounds under Bridges direction and care over a period of only 60 days! Absolutely appalling! What a waste of over $ 100,000!

The response that I recieved here is completely BTR trying to save face. On several occasions I requested a detailed list of charges and they never followed through. I called and called and emailed and emailed and they would always promise to do it that time, but would never follow through. I believe it it because they are hoping I would forget or give up, which I guess is successful because I did give up. I would never ever refer someone to Bridges, no matter how desperate they are becuase I believe they would just come out worse than when they went in– not only mentally, but financially as well (Im out well over $ 100,000 on this horrible place when all is added up).

Horrid… They promised it was a family oriented community without mentioning that for the first week there was ZERO visiting. But it was more like two weeks because he was admitted on the weekend and a certain amount of time had to clear. The staff completely dropped communication with me after he was admitted but sang a tall tale of being amazing and family oriented before that. They did things like convince him to go on antidepressants even when both of us made sure he would have no pressure for this when admitted as thats why we picked the facility. He was emotionally blackmailed by a doctor, which is against the law. They told him if he went off his other medications they would take away emergency anxiety medication and his sleep aid. They also took away his phone, which is also against California law for an extended stay facility. Then he took a $ 20,000 loss when he left the facility. The program director said she could help with nonverbal learning disability but none of the psychs knew what it was so they all pretended it didn’t exist and decided to treat him for bi-​polar instead of autism. Terrible disaster. Do NOT go here.
