Authentic Puerto Rican and Cuban Food. We have amazing traditional Food. We are the Original Creators of the CuBun™ Our Menu Concept Originates from the Amazing History and Influence Chinese Immigrants had on the Melting Pot of Cuban and afro Caribbean food. In the original Cuban Chinese Immigrations of Chinese immigration to Cuba started in 1847 when Chinese (Cantonese and Hakka) contract workers were brought to work in the sugar fields, bringing the religion of Buddhism with them. Hundreds of thousands of Chinese workers were brought in from China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan during the following decades to replace and /​or work alongside African slaves. After completing eight-​year contracts or otherwise obtaining their freedom, some Chinese immigrants settled permanently in Cuba, although most longed for repatriation to their homeland. Havana’s Chinatown (known as Barrio Chino de La Habana) is one of the oldest and largest Chinatowns in Latin America. We created our Cubun™ and our Luv Sum™ Menu to honor and celebrate this amazing people and fusion of wonderful Caribbean Fusion and the Chino Cubano™ people. We where inspired to create and experiment with these cultures creating an amazing original and our unique Luv Sum™” Menu. Consisting of a series of Caribbean Asian Infused BunsTony Cubano’s is not only a Bastion of Heritage but as an organization we are here to celebrate the wonderful mix of cultures thru Authentic and Original Cuisine commencing with our Cubun

History

Established in 1994.

Our Concept and Caribbean Fusion Journey began in San Juan Puerto Rico under the Tutelage of 3 Star Michelin Chef Pamela Yahn also known as the originator of caribbean fusion cuisine. Our Owner and Founder spent 3 years with Pamela and Learned from her vast knowledge as well as earned the title from this «Gran Dame Escafie» the Title of Dumpling Master which little did we know in the future how important this would be. After Many Years of organization as well as 4 Years of planning for our California Launch Tony Cubano’s was Formally Launched in 2014

Our Owner was Raised in the Caribbean and Frequented in his Youth the «Casa Cuba» Social Club in San Juan Puerto Rico. Being Raised in Puerto Rico and always having a highly developed and discerning Palate because influences through his thru his 20’s Our Patron experienced the very best in caribbean cuisine as well as Interning for 3 Years with a Michelin 3 Star Chef After 4 years of planning and preparation Armando Launched Tony Cubano’s in 2014
