With both back and knee issues I was pleased to find a shoe that would cushion and help — and they did for about six months when one of them developed a god-​awful clicking sound. Not sure what the source is but, as they are, they’re not wearable in public. Now that I’ve experienced this, I’ve read in other reviews that it’s not an unusual problem. Others have experienced it too. Shame because the shoes really ARE noticeably different from others.

Gravity Defyer shoes I bought for $ 150 just gave me blisters, the company will not exchange or replace. They have poor quality.

Ordered shoes on line. Delivered in wrong size. Customer Service Rep. very short and rude. I felt he was trying to rush me off the phone. I will go else where and buy shoes and I will NOT recommend GRAVITY DEFYER to anybody. This place sucks and then only offered me a 10% discount for all the inconvenience.

My wife ordered some shoes from Gravity Defyer less than 6 months ago. We were very apprehensive as they cost a lot for shoes. However, when she got them, they were very comfortable for her and were doing great.
Until recently when a spring broke inside the left shoe (without any known cause). These shoes are under a year old, and a spring, of all parts, broke. I work in Engineering and I can tell you springs don’t break easily. Main reason is usually bad materials. She opened a case with them and they have been far from helpful. Even going so far as now not responding. She’s had them for less than 5 months total before the failure.
Before the spring broke, she wanted to buy more pairs that were on sale, but the website wasn’t working properly. So, thankfully, she didn’t waste our money on more.
It’s very sad, because for the intended audience, there are few choices as for shoes that help with abnormal conditions. Having such quick failure is extremely unfortunate. This is also in comparison to my steel toe work shoes I’ve had for 3 years now. I’ve replaced the laces twice and while they look beat up, they’re still comfortable every single day.
We were really expecting better. After all, who makes athletic shoes that can’t last? They’re supposed to be the most durable. These aren’t stilettos.

I first ordered women size 6. they sent me defective shoes. my replacement was unavailable. then i picked a substitute style 6 M. they sent me 6.5, I returned, then twice they sent size 5, then size 7. I SIMPLY wanted a size 6. I noticed sometimes the invoice would say 6, but in fact the content is of different size. Other times the number on the outside of the box does not match the content inside. so far I have sent back 4 pairs, n still have not received my correct size. It has been 6 months
Have neen calling n emailing them, no response, no refunds. I am very frustrated.

Just an update. I worked with Megan from Gravity Defyer last week. She was most helpful in expediting the reimbursement for the shoes I had to return. So I wanted to say that customer service was very good once I got in touch with her. She followed up with me and stayed on top of the issue until it was resolved! Thank you again, Megan!

A true nightmare: terrible ill-​fitting shoes & a customer disservice department that refuses to issue refunds on shoes returned!

Purchased March 2012 and wear these only when I work — about 15 days a month on an airline. I only wear them in uniform so I would say they only get moderate wear. Noticed the elevation of the shoe caused me to lose balance on occasion. Biggest complaint is the outside rubber bottom sole is already worn and the metal spring contraption is exposed. I wish I could include a photo of the shoe condition now. Beware of «30 day money back guarantee» So what? That is a standard legal requirement for consumers in the USA. I could fine no other guarantees on the web site. I will not purchase these again.

I have never written such a long review, but there is so much good and bad info about my experiences with this company I apologize for the length. This is NOT a diatribe. The catalog is so impressive, perhaps my expectations were too high. (Full disclosure: I have a pair of Z-​Coil shoes which I adore. They are so comfortable for walking and are GREAT shock absorbers to cushion my knees, which is why I have them – but they do look a bit weird!) So the reason for trying the gdefyer shoes was because they looked great.
When my order arrived, I was more than a little disappointed. (1) They aren’t anywhere as springy as I expected (2) The mediums are way too wide and they are so stiff, it is hard to lace them up tightly enough to compensate for the width (3) They are extremely heavy (4) They are so very stiff that your foot won’t roll when you walk from ball to heel – instead it slaps down hard as if you are wearing swim fins.
By the time I realized all these downsides, I’d already worn them and couldn’t return them. It was a lot of money to pay for something with this many problems – guess I’d recommend going to the store to try on first, rather than online ordering. In their defense, I’ve had them several months and they are just starting to loosen up a bit, so perhaps eventually they might work for me. I can now finally lace them tight enough to reduce the width – but they still slap the ground like platypus-​feet!
On the plus side, a relative got several pairs and loves them. He has had an injured Achilles tendon and it works great for him. And he had no trouble exchanging a pair through customer service. I might add that the reason he had to exchange them was because size 11 in one style varied drastically from size 11 in another style – another big detriment to online ordering. Maybe you can get them from Zappos with free returns???
Another tip about the online ordering – They do have many online sales and special deals. I have spent hours on their website trying to order more shoes to try a different style. The problem is this: when you find things you like, you go through the entire exercise of selecting the styles, size, color, etc. and put it in your shopping cart. The shopping cart accepts the order. Then when you go to check out, each one you’ve selected suddenly shows that the sale price is not available in that size, color, whatever. I then go back to pick others and the same scenario is repeated. Once I tried to buy every single one that was on sale and NONE would go through checkout. What a frustratingly annoying experience.
So I called and the phone agent told me that when they have those sales, the inventory is very limited. Ok, fine – then don’t show it as available, don’t let me put it in my cart and not tell me until the final checkout after I’ve wasted my time entering all my information. It seems as if the sales may actually be a come-​on and rarely exist. I have tried on many different days to buy shoes on sale and always with this same experience. So I don’t bother anymore. It really left a bad taste. In this day and age there is no excuse for having an e-​commerce website which functions so poorly.
The regular price is extremely high for something that isn’t wonderful. The concept is very cool, so I hope they get their act together because they could have potential. If not, perhaps a competitor with a better feel for customer-​needs will pop up.

That’s it. The shoes I bought are poorly made with inadequate cushioning and low quality materials.
That’s just the beginning. They advertise a consumer-​friendly approach to exchanges and returns, but I finally got the treatment that I’ve read about other reviewers having: nearly 3 months after they acknowledge prompt receipt of my return and all they can tell me about the status is «pending’. They had to have re-​sold my shoes (at least) once. By now they are old merchandise. Maybe they received them back again and are collecting $ 142 from 3 different buyers by now.
My impression is: A low integrity corporation that does not care about customer satisfaction and promoting an atmosphere where loyal customers return for more purchases. Their type of conduct really deserves no stars; folks who are treated like this make sure to tell their friends.

I love my Galaxy II shoes! I heard about Gravity Defyer through a friend who owned several pairs. As an active runner, I needed a pair that would be more comfortable on my feet during longer runs. I ordered a pair online and got them not long after I placed my order. I’ve had my pair for several months and wouldn’t run without them!

I got a call from the manager at Gravity Defyer, Sergio on Friday. He apologized for the delay of processing and wanted to right this transaction. He authorized the refund and offered to send out a new case, inspected prior to shipping free of charge. I was refunded the money which showed up within minutes of the call. On Saturday afternoon on my doorstep was a new watch case. I truly appreciate after all the hassle that this situation was finally corrected. I am thankful for the free watch case. I set it up and transferred all of my husbands watches to the case and surprised my husband when he got home from work. Thank you again Sergio.

Once you find the right SIZE and WIDTH you will love them. I’m only 24 but I’ve have two surgeries on my right foot so one its hard to find shoes that will fit that foot and two I need something comfy.
Not to mention I have wide flat feet which doesnt help my case. I still try and wear my heels when I go out but during the week on my errands I wear my gdefy sneakers. If I don’t have the sneakers I have the insoles which I love the most because they arent those half insoles that pinch the middle of your feet. they are full length and I have about 3 pairs. 2 in gd shoes and 1 in my nikes.
after wearing them so much with no pain i forget how good they are until I try and wear shoes like flip flops or my minnetonka mocassins. which have no support what so ever but are only cute. After a day in those shoes my feet hurt so bad. at this point I pretty much can’t wear another other sneaker or use any other insole.
im sure once you find the right fit you will love them. I did have one pair that made a whistling noise which seem to ocme from the valve but I called up customer service and they sent me a replacement right away.
the best thing now is since im in sherman oaks its not a far drive to the outlet store they opened in pacoima so I can get my shoes and not have to pay s/​h and actually try them out. I have the new supernova and nexta and i ove the nexta the most because the mesh style allows for space for my wide feet.
i already have gift my mom, dad, brother, sis, 2 aunts, uncle, family friend, neighbor and her mom. Its kind of my go-​to gift for people who i know wouold benefit from these shoes.
give them a try at the store if you are local and worrieda about s/​h you will be happy you did.

I’m a serious runner but also have flat feet. It’s difficult to find shoes that are light weight and provide enough support for my arches. These shoes, when you find the right model & size for you, are absolutely fantastic. I have owned the Red Flexnet model for about a year now & they are most comfortable shoes that I own. They really do feel like walking on clouds! I highly recommend them to anyone who is tired of their feet hurting, in fact, I even bought my mom a pair & she loves them! However, their turn around time for exchanges and refunds is absolutely awful so make sure you order the right size for you! I recently had to exchange a couple shoes because they didn’t fit well, & I am still waiting for my new pair to arrive. (it’s been almost a month!!!) This is completely unacceptable & they should really do something about this if they don’t want to lose customers. I give them 5 stars for their product & 1 star for their customer service.
