Off The Shelf

I laughed when I saw a food truck outside of the party I was attending last night… and then I tasted the food being served! The food was absolutely delicious! We had a party of about 50 people and these guys had no problem serving grade A food with spectacular service. The menu was short and sweet and I’m sad I missed a few items on it! Everything was perfectly cooked, looked fancy, and tasted even better. I would recommend to anyone looking to impress their friends with a fine dinning experiance out of a food truck.

BETTER THAN ANY FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD ON ANY SET… Ever! I’m not sure why these guys don’t have more reviews, and I can’t see why they would have anything less than 5 stars.
They’re pleasant, the food is unreal (especially if you’re a foodie, like me) and they allow you to come back for seconds without hesitation.
I had the «crispy duck with slaw», «poached shrimp with aioli», «crispy beef in tandoori sauce over quinoa», and lobster fritters. ALL UNBELIEVABLE… and not what you expect from catering on set. Thank you!!!

I work in production and every time I see «Off the Shelf» on the call sheet, I smile. The chefs are as awesome as the food they produce. They are professional, dynamic and passionate about what they do and serve. Delicious food.

As off-​the-​shelf usually doesn’t cater weddings my brother actually works for the catering company and they have agreed to cater my wedding. I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate it and how amazing the food was. Everyone is still talking about how great the food was the appetizers, the salad, the main course the sides of the main course everything was absolutely amazing. A few people even had mentioned how chicken is usually dry at weddings BUT their chicken was amazing. Even our vegetarian dish was talked about by many. I had Head Chef Chris was just amazing and I can’t thank them enough for the great service. As we had a few other things go wrong in our wedding I definitely feel like the food just made everything else better!

I’m part of the industry and our production was catered by off the shelf… and I was extremely disappointed. I picked up my food and the cooks were very disrespectful and we’re not organized. The food was not near good and there were not many workers pleased. The cooks also smelled like alcohol. By the way thanks for the open and close sign.0 stars

I’m not going to lie, the food is great. Brownies are to die for.
But on several occasions I’ve gone back to work and felt my stomach churning afterward.
I’ve heard no similar complaints from any of my coworkers, just relaying my own experience.

I LOVE these guys!!! Chef Mike is awesome, always has a smile and good attitude. I especailly love the choc sushi!

The new weight watchers truck. You guys have no clue. You had fish tacos, beef frajitas and chicken tostadas, so I had fish tacos a table spoon of rice and two corn tortillas out of the bag (you guys didn’t even warm up the tortillas wtf) and peices of cold fish the size of my thumb. How can you guys serve that and heaven forbid you order two entrees (two half orders and a dirty look) and really potato salad again. I hate seeing your name on the call sheet.

I rarely give 5 stars out, and even now, I’m not quite yet sure that they deserve it just for the food. For instance, today my breakfast is a little less perfect than it has been the past four breakfasts. That said, Off the Shelf and their wonderful Chef Ryan make high quality, creative dishes that please everyone from the San Fran vegan to the meat-​loving Mexican. My favorite has been their «life rice», which boasts a wonderful concoction of green veggies (spinach, broccoli), tofu, a good dose of pesto, all topped with sliced avocado. Yum! Better yet, Chef Ryan and his crew were particularly accommodating when it came to thinking of the environment when serving their food. From eco-​friendly clamshells (to-​go containers) to compostable cups and coffee lids, they are the vision of the future when it comes to doing it right!

These guys are hands down the best at what they do. Even though they mostly do Asian fusion they have carefully considered what most people would want for breakfast and serve normal breakfast fair. I suggest getting the huveos rancheros. They give you plenty of delicious options for lunch and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Super nice guys. Environmentally conscious. Amazing food. Best sushi I have ever had on a photo shoot.

Long Version: I was recently on a multi-​day shoot and had the pleasure of eating food prepared by Off The Shelf catering; what a treat. Everyone there from the company was polite, friendly and knew how to make a dish! Everyone on set was constantly commenting on how delicious the meals were. Plus, they served up the food fast. They are also very environmentally conscientious, using completely biodegradable utensils, plates and cups. These folks are the whole package. If you need catering, you must consider them for your next event. You must! Check’em out.
