CD One Price Cleaners

It was a Friday just before a holiday weekend. I live in the city, but it’s most convenient to do my cleaning near the office. I’m on the email list, so early afternoon I received the email that everything was ready. They are always so helpful and accommodating. They offer to help bring cleaning to my car, always have a smile and my clothes are done right!

Fast and customer service was outstanding!

I’ve been using this place for a long time with no issues. I like the quality and the prices are great. They handle long lines very efficiently and are friendly. Also, kudos for accepting credit cards.
I hope they keep up the good work going forward!

Been going here since they opened. The service and quality is top notch. Have I had a few issues in the past, sure, when you use a business once a week for several years issues can occur. But they will always redo the cleaning for free and will bend over backwards to make it right. There are very few businesses today that provide a personally touch and care about there customers. I’m glad to have such a business in Palatine.

They also told I am not allowed in the cleaners. I guess I can’t pick up the shirts that they ruined. Also they gave me a $ 40 credit. They took that away from me too, because I went to the corp. office with the problem.

A very honest store. CD One Cleaners called my husband to tell him he had left money in his pocket. He went over there to discover it was $ 50. What an honest establishment. Thank you.

I typically go to the CD one by my work but since this is close to home I thought it would be the same, was I wrong. These CD one are franchises so the prices are different by location. I thought I was going to get the 1.49 dry cleaning like I always do nope it’s 2.79 here not the end of the world but for the outcome yes it does become a big deal.
I picked up my clothes and started going through them and anything that was white turned yellow. The collars on all my shirts were ruined and when asked what happened you get well this is how we got your shirts.

I posted this by accident on the NORTHWEST HIGHWAY CD Palatine location where I am NOW taking my dry cleaning and have not run into any of the training issues I ran into on Dundee Road.
Sorry to say, but the service has really deteriorated at the Dundee Road Palatine Location WHILE the prices have gone UP. CASH only.
I CAN say we used them since they opened, but there has been a great deal of personnel change lately and the training isn’t working as well as it did in previous years. They used to always be very personable and friendly and we never had any problem with the cleaning.
Back to the old standards as these discount chains start to crank up their prices and drop their service. Try Sunmade Cleaners at 59 E Palatine Rd, been there for DECADES, family run and Gus and his family are good people. No hassle there.
99c shirt specials etc.
Can’t recommend anywhere in Barrington that isn’t pricey.
Otherwise TRY the CD Palatine NW highway location. Their parking lot is almost as screwed up as Dundee Road but they have SUNDAY hours! and apparently accept MORE coupons without hassle. AND a free receipt raffle for $ 50 in store credit!
Crystal Lake CD is also good, nice people, still on NW highway. Good luck.
UPDATE: NO response from the same «mangement» Debbie P. email below about being driven away by a badly trained new employee recently who didn’t know, and wouldn’t initially take NW highway coupons we had unknowingly also used earlier in the day. By the time the new employee decided she would take the same coupons I had used earlier in the day, I said that I really didn’t need to do busyness here, RIP.
I moved my busyness to the CD NW highway, try Grammy D’s just across the street next to Arby’s, you won’t need your Spanglish.

The dry cleaning is fine but their laundry service needs improvement. They do a fair job pressing shirts but they don’t seem to use starch even if you ask. Always check to make sure your collar was pressed evenly before you leave. They’ll fix it but it’s a bother. Don’t bring in wing collars or French cuffs; they really mess those up.
Overall, ok dry cleaning and fair simple shirt laundry.

ive been coming to this dry cleaning place for three years, i think its about time i write a review.
I have gone to many different dry cleaning locations, and i dont understand the point of paying double the price for garments for the exact same outcome?! CD ONE PRICE cleaners does a GREAT job of dry cleaning. Only think i wish they did were bedding sheets and what not. But thats OK.
I am always greeted with a smile AND by name — which is a huge thing in my book. The effort is always 100%, and theyve never seemed to let me down and im still goign to them for 3 years. Thanks again!

Testing another Dry Cleaner. Ok so this place is cheap. I tested out a couple dress shirts and some black pants & black T-​shirts. Everything came back clean as in laundred.
The Negative: The dress shirts had creases on the front from being bunched together with other clothing. The black T’s came back with other peoples pet hair and fuzz. This happens a lot as dry cleaners don’t go over the garments after they’ve been «Cleaned». In my book a Fail. The pants were ok…

I just picked up my wedding dress here.
Yep, I dropped it off for cleaning almost five months after the wedding.
I don’t know why I waited so long, but at least it’s done. I was really nervous about dropping it off here a few days ago because I didn’t want my beautiful bead & lace dress getting ruined somehow. When I picked it up, I was thrilled to see that the bottom of the dress was white and clean (I wore it outdoors and it was lined with dirt) and all the lace and beads seemed to be intact. I still have to inspect the dress more closely, but I’m really happy with it! I also had a coat cleaned here before and that turned out well too. I’m pleased with this place. Just a heads up: not everything is $ 2.49. I had to pay $ 25 to get my dress cleaned. I was really disappointed about this price, but I really needed to get the dress cleaned. I have no idea why, or how that compares to other dry-​cleaning services. (I am secretly praying they didn’t rip me off…)

I have only been bringing a few items here since my last review nothing, as I previously stated with unique buttons. I did, however, bring a hoodie that not expensive (from old navy) but I liked it. I had taken it to CD one price before without a problem. It has now been faded from bright purple to eggplant. The girl on the phone was nice but the manager was not in. I think they fried it by turning up the heat too high. Weird, because as I said it’s been there before, and I didn’t have a problem. Even my buddy said she wouldn’t wear it except to Mc Donald’s. Thanks again CD One. That’s it for me with this place, the nice employees in front don’t make up for ruined clothes.

Do NOT go here. They are unprofessional. I brought in five pairs of pants and asked three times that they not be creased. I asked three times because I’ve been to other CD One Price Cleansers and they have always pinned a note to my pants indicating that they are not to be creased but the employee didn’t do this. She swore that it wasn’t what they did at her store and that the pants would be fine. She also tried to charge me $ 3.19 for one of the pairs of pants, which when I caught this and asked why they were charging more she said that she would change the price to $ 2.49. When I picked up my pants on Saturday they were all creased so I asked the employee (the same person who took my order) to please fix her mistake and she said that I would have to wait until Monday at 5:00 to pick them up if I wanted them fixed and then she walked away. I took my pants and walked out. I will never spend another dime here. There are other Cd One Price Cleaners that do great jobs but not this one.

I had high hopes for this place. I like the pricing model and they have a nice website. However, I won’t be back. In the end, you get what you pay for.
PROS:
* Employees were very friendly and explained the concept/​process to me in detail
* Same day return for no additional charge or need to haggle for it
* Free coffee. It said Starbucks but it looked like the free coffee in a muffler shop to me.
CONS:
* I wasn’t asked what kind of starch I wanted in my shirts. Therefore, I got none. Not acceptable.
* They don’t take credit cards. Cash and check only. I understand this is probably due to cost of accepting the cards but you can’t have a policy like this and expect anyone under 30 to come back. And having an ATM on site does not say «customer friendly» it says «extra source of revenue for you.» Very bad.
* Two of my shirts had melted sleeve buttons. Again, totally unacceptable and, to me, indicative of the processes you have to use to operate at rock bottom prices.
I won’t be back. I’m going to find another family-​run shop close to my new work office.

This place is awesome! I brought in a silk designer dress that I got a grease stain on. The first time around they spot treated it and couldn’t get the stain out. So when i got back I was really upset (with myself) to hear my dress was ruined. The lady could tell I was sad and told me to give her two days and she would keep working on the dress. Since it was silk it could not be wet washed and since it had beading it could not be dry cleaned. I did have to sign a waiver, since it was an expensive dress and they were going to try some different methods, saying I wouldn’t try and get reimbursed for the dress. if something went wrong. They did all of this free of charge. I went back two days later and the dress was back to perfect condition! I love CD One Price Cleaners… the cheapest dry cleaners I know AND they do the best work!
